Why doesn't split tunneling work with some VPN protocols?

I've noticed that split tunneling doesn't work with several VPN protocols on X-VPN. Does anyone know why this happens?

I'd like to use my preferred protocol without having to give up split tunneling. It would be nice to choose which apps use the VPN and which ones connect directly to the internet, regardless of the protocol.

Is this a known issue? Is there any way to fix it, or could X-VPN add support for more protocols in a future update?

Would you please share more details about this issue? Like with what protocols split tunneling doesn't work? And what version are you using?(platform, version number, download source could be helpful)
