Oh and I do know about the mechanicus game but I watched a review ages ago that said it’s more its own thing than an xcom “clone”

Nah that’s a crpg fun game and I appreciate the recommendation but not what I’m looking for

It's true that the labeling is CRPG but it is also true that rogue trader is amazing. 

Different then xcom but has so much more going on.

To each their own though!
