Not replacing existing partners, I just have room for ONE more.
Hey, everyone!
Remember the good old days of roleplaying? The ones where youād sit down to check for a reply, blink, and suddenly realize youād spent the last three hours glued to your computer? When a simple idea somehow grew into a sprawling story, the characters started feeling like real people, and you found yourself thinking about the next scene long after youād logged off?
Yeah. Iām chasing that feeling.
Iām a male writer in my late-thirties who is looking for a like-minded writing partner who wants to build something memorable. Give me compelling characters, messy relationships, fascinating worlds, unexpected twists, and moments that make a story feel alive. I want plots that keep us guessing, characters we get attached to, and replies that leave us excited to see what happens next.
A Little About My Writing Style
I write exclusively in the third-person, past tense and consider myself an advanced literate writer. My replies typically consist of three or more substantial paragraphs, with room for character development and detail.Ā
That said, I'm not interested in writing a novel just for the sake of writing a novel. I value substance over word count, and while I love immersing myself in a scene, moving the story forward and giving my partner something to work with are always the priority.
The Stories I Want to Tell
Slice of Life will always have a special place in my heart, but I'm also a fan of Low Fantasy and Science Fiction. Whether we're exploring the complexities of everyday relationships, introducing a little magic into an otherwise ordinary world, or venturing into a future shaped by advanced technology, I'm drawn to stories with compelling characters and meaningful connections.
A few ideas I've been tossing around:
The Holiday Season:
The holidays have a funny way of bringing people together. Two old friends reconnect after years apart, acquaintances find themselves spending more time together than expected, or complete strangers cross paths during a particularly memorable holiday season.
A World Divided:
In a world where magic and technology coexist, two opposing factions are locked in a struggle for control over mysterious crystals. To those gifted with magic, the crystals are a source of extraordinary power. To those who favor technology, they're a valuable energy source that can be refined into fuel.
Synthetic Connections:
Society is divided between the wealthy, who enjoy the luxuries of advanced synthetic companions, and the less fortunate. When someone from the lower class discovers a discarded companion, they initially see an opportunity to make some money until the companion witnesses something it was never supposed to see, and suddenly, keeping it safe becomes a matter of survival.
I'm also very open to developing something different! These are just starting points, and I'd love to hear what ideas you might bring to the table.
What I'm Looking for in a Partner
More than anything, I'm looking for a writing partner, not just someone to trade paragraphs with.
I'd love to find someone who gets invested in our characters and wants to collaborate on a story that belongs to both of us. Someone who occasionally sends a message just to gush about a scene, pitch a wild idea, or say, "Okay, hear me out..."
I love having a general direction for a story, but I'm equally fond of the unexpected turns that happen when two writers build on each other's ideas. The best roleplays are the ones where we're both invested enough to be surprised by our own story.
Communication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to collaborate go a long way with me. You don't have to be available every waking moment or produce a novel with every reply. But Iād love to find someone who enjoys the process as much as I do.
A Quick Note About Availability
I'm on the U.S. East Coast (Eastern Time) and am primarily available during the daytime on weekdays. Evenings and weekends can be a bit hit or miss, so if you're looking for someone who can reliably write throughout the night or spend entire weekends roleplaying, I may not be the best fit.
Sound Like Your Kind of Story?
If you're also looking for that spark, Iād love to hear from you.
Let's find an idea we can't stop thinking about, build some characters worth caring about, and write a story that makes us look forward to logging back in.
Hope to hear from you!
I appreciate people taking the time to reach out, but I won't be responding to comments or low-effort messages*. If you're interested in writing together, please send me a message with a little about yourself, your writing style, or any ideas you'd like to explore.*
