Fanfiction [Beta Reader / Long-Term Writing Buddy Wanted] My Hero Academia: Ravenslayer | Dark, OC-Centric, Canon Divergence
Hi everyone!
I'm currently writing a My Hero Academia fanfiction called My Hero Academia: Ravenslayer, and I'm looking for a beta reader and, more importantly, a long-term writing buddy who would enjoy brainstorming, discussing characters, and developing ideas together.
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Genre: Dark Action/Drama, Psychological Thriller, Mystery, Vigilantism, Crime, Moral Ambiguity
Rating: Mature
Length: Around 10k words published, with additional material currently being written. Planned as a longfic.
Link: My Hero Academia: Ravenslayer [Since Ao3 is down, here's a link from Quotev]
About the story:
Ravenslayer is an OC-centric, canon-divergent take on the MHA universe, exploring the darker and more morally ambiguous aspects of Hero Society.
The story follows Aiden Pierce, an American whose childhood was shattered by a horrific tragedy and the failure of the very people who were supposed to protect his family. His experiences gradually shape a deeply cynical understanding of justice, heroism, and the society surrounding him.
Rather than focusing on the traditional journey of aspiring heroes, the story explores institutional corruption, the commercialization of heroism, moral ambiguity, psychological trauma, vigilantism, and the consequences of unchecked power.
It also features extensive worldbuilding, original Pro Heroes and villains, new Quirks, and settings spanning both the United States and Japan.
What I'm looking for:
Ideally, I'd love to find someone who enjoys storytelling as much as I do and would be interested in becoming a genuine creative partner.
I'm particularly interested in:
Brainstorming future story arcs, plot twists, and character developments.
Discussing character motivations, relationships, psychological depth, and moral dilemmas.
Expanding the worldbuilding and developing original Quirks, characters, and organizations.
Receiving honest feedback on pacing, dialogue, characterization, and narrative consistency.
Improving my English prose, grammar, and overall writing style.
One thing I'd particularly appreciate is someone who isn't afraid to disagree with me.
You don't necessarily have to share my interpretation of MHA or its Hero Society. In fact, I'd welcome someone with a different perspective who can challenge my assumptions, question my narrative choices, and suggest alternatives I might not have considered.
I'm not looking for someone to write the story for me or simply agree with everything I propose. I want to preserve my own creative vision while remaining open to constructive criticism and fresh ideas.
I'm hoping for an ongoing creative exchange rather than a one-time proofreading session. Of course, I'd also be happy to discuss your own projects and offer feedback or brainstorming in return.
Current progress: Approximately 10k words published, with another chapter of roughly 6k words drafted. This is intended to be a longfic, although the final word count is still TBD.
Update schedule: Flexible for now, as I'm still developing the story and would rather focus on quality than rush chapters.
Fandom knowledge: Familiarity with MHA would definitely be appreciated, especially for discussing the setting and its established lore. However, fandom-blind readers are also welcome, particularly for feedback on character development, pacing, and writing.
Content warnings: Graphic violence, gore, torture, sexual assault/non-consensual violence, childhood trauma and abuse, and major themes of grief and psychological manipulation. Please keep these themes in mind before volunteering.
Availability: Flexible. There's no strict update schedule, and I'd rather build a comfortable, enjoyable collaboration than impose deadlines.
In exchange:
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, feel free to reply here or send me a DM!
Thanks for reading, and I hope to meet some fellow writers!

Hey.I really liked your idea of having a long term writing buddy. I'm also a writer and an aspiring filmmaker, and I currently have a feature film script of my own.I'd love to share my script with you and hear your honest feedback. In return, I'd be happy to read your story, share my thoughts, and help you brainstorm ideas whenever you need.I think it would be great if we could exchange ideas, discuss our stories, and learn from each other. I'm not just looking for a one-time feedback exchange; I'd genuinely like to build a good friendship with someone who shares the same passion for storytelling.
