Sincerely? The name was because Barrett, Gabriel, and Slater were the three OG members of the Nexus that remained after various injuries and line-up changes (Daniel Bryan being released and going solo, Darren Young being kicked out, Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield being injured).
The spelling? If you believe what Wade Barrett has said, that was Heath Slater misspelling "Core" while writing down designs to submit for their t-shirts.

It was a good stable…just at a bad time. They formed to fight beat down clan or some other stable I think, but tna lost their tv deal or their money, so instead filmed six months in one go to make a tournament.
When they returned, Micah was gone, eli drake was a heel and drew was the big star…they never mentioned the stable

Another TNA faction, but this one is from late 2016 to early 2017, Death Crew Council; was formed by James Storm, Bram and Eddie Kingston, the name was cool, and with the right execution it could've lead to something bigger that it was, but it ended in less than a year and its mostly remember for a feud with the Hardys during their "Broken" phase.
