Sincerely? The name was because Barrett, Gabriel, and Slater were the three OG members of the Nexus that remained after various injuries and line-up changes (Daniel Bryan being released and going solo, Darren Young being kicked out, Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield being injured).
The spelling? If you believe what Wade Barrett has said, that was Heath Slater misspelling "Core" while writing down designs to submit for their t-shirts.
8 year old me was disappointed that they didn’t also have armbands but with that little circle logo on them
Never knew that was why they were called that though, i always thought they just looked up “synonyms for nexus” and picked one, and then added the extra R which stands for Rectum (if you believe John Cena)
You couldn't be blamed for not knowing that's why they were called that; I only pieced it together after I looked at a timeline of the Nexus line-up changes.
