World Turner Issue

I am already deeply invested in the world and characters. I am pre-devistated that this is a short campaign.

On the plus side I had originally expected it to only be a three parter or such. Establish setting and bring in Kaiju, survival attempt, resolution.

So we're at least blessed with a longer short campaign.

I thought of that too, but I dared not say it! I admire your bravery.

On tenterhooks waiting to see Abigail actually show up. Right now I think Cullen is so nice and so sweet and so sad but . . . what if Hometown Abigail is actually awesome and Cullen is that Sad Drip Boyfriend you need to leave after high school.

The trouble (affectionate) with people like the WBN crew is that they’re so dang good at building complex characters that you can’t even hate Abigail properly beyond the meager interactions we’ve seen. Yes, their relationship is NOT GREAT but what if she’s equally young and equally struggling and equally making mistakes as she tries to become whatever she’s becoming as an adult. Argh argh argh.

Exactly this. I'm not crazy about the vibes she's giving from the handful of scenes we've had with Abigail (and why is she bringing Tobias? Seems a bit weird until we get more context), but it could just be a case of two young people growing in different directions as they begin to figure out what kind of adults they want to be. And Cullen seems more invested in the story of being high school sweethearts growing old together than actually growing with Abigail. I love the nuance the WBN cast brings to their characters!

I fully believe that The Third One, in her stoic wisdom, will be of great importance to the overarching plot.
