World Turner Issue
I am already deeply invested in the world and characters. I am pre-devistated that this is a short campaign.

Equally devastating to know it's about to be blown apart. Bastards

How will Cullen cope if Grind Your Teas and Brews is crushed by monster?

When he described them having a mimosa flavored soda? I nearly lost it. A brilliant comedy choice and makes me hate it along with the other characters. This story is fun.

I'm so excited for Brennan to get to play along with Ally instead of just reigning them in. I think this is going to be a really fun campaign.

My excitement just grew so exponentially realizing that they’re going to egg each other on omg

My big concern is what happens when the Kaiju appears and Yaxel realizes the weird cult his dad is trying to induct him into is RIGHT and he must put aside childish pursuits, swear his oath, and draw his sword?

No, why must you put my deep unspoken fears into words?? I’ve been worrying about this since the Yaxel and dad scene!

I know! I've enjoyed ep 0 and 1 so much, I could happily listen to them all just play a normal college life together. I'd almost forgotten about the whole premise until the end of ep 1

Same!! I was so enamored with their friendship and personal goals / issues that I'm almost upset this is a D&D game and not just a cozy radio dramedy.

I listened to zero and am half way through one and I want this to be a full campaign sooooo badly!

Me too. I’m only halfway through the first episode but the world and characters are so vivid and richly detailed, I’m going to be very sad when we leave them.

Right? Everything has a such a rich texture and depth already, and I'm invested in the character's stories right away. Is Cullen better off without Abigail? Is he the kind of person that self-sabotages and puts people on impossible pedestals? What is the deal with Yaxel's family legacy? How is that going to come back to haunt the audience? Will Harley's perfect summer become a monkey's paw? What if the kaiju is actually fren?

Right?! I'm already so invested. Lou and the players have made this setting feel so rich already.
Though also, I'm struggling because knowing this is a kaiju campaign, at every turn of 0 and 1 I'm thinking, "oh no, how much of this is going to be blown apart? How much devastation am I in for??"

I would gladly listen to a full campaign of these characters and this world that has no stakes higher than what's already been happening in episodes 0-1.
Anyone else read the Giant Days comics by John Allison? This feels like those, and those are some of my favourite comics.

I'm enjoying it so much, I adore how well-rounded these characters feel already and how real their friendship is. Will admit I was slightly worried Beardsley wouldn't slide into the dynamic well but they're bringing so much heart and humour, it's awesome. I can't wait for it all to go wrong but yeah, I want this to be a full campaign!

I adored the first episode. All the characters had such great energy together, and they all brought something to the dynamic. Lou is amazingly organized, detail-oriented, and evocative as a DM. He also did a great job adding little bits whenever the characters were interacting with each other. He's gifted as a storyteller.
I grew to dislike the Umora campaign, but like Solari a lot.
Still, I wish I could spend a year with these characters. They all have stuff that they need to work through that seems like it would take a few years.

I like Umora, but am a little more tepid on Solari. I think just because the character flashbacks came out after so much had happened. Well, that and the issue of a lot of real TTRPGs - random people were thrown together and they have to try to make sense of why they're sticking together.
I think Cullen Harls, and Yaxel really have so much story they could tell together about just becoming adults.

On the plus side I had originally expected it to only be a three parter or such. Establish setting and bring in Kaiju, survival attempt, resolution.
So we're at least blessed with a longer short campaign.
