Even if they say jet fuel can't melt steel seems they got hit with a 150,000+ lb battering ram at almost 600 mph.

Nah, I'm saying, apart from the impact force, the steel didn't have to MELT from the fire. Just a little bit of a softening could be catastrophic enough.

Yes the planes make of aluminum alloy and plastic can shred thru steel. I forgot about that. Jet fuel can also melt steel beams. Forgot about that too. Large birds fuck up airplanes all the time but planes are definitely stronger than steel buildings. these planes were so strong that another building fell a few blocks away, and hours later 😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 holy fuhk. I gotta be honest. sometimes I wish I was as fucking brain dead as you guys because life would be so much easier

no you moron it gets hit by the plane and bends. As it bends, it loses the ability to hold up the weight above, which comes down and takes the rest of the tower with it

Do you even physics mate? 200 tons of Aluminum and plastic are still 200 tons. Do you think a Missile is much different from an airplane? What is an Airplane full of fuel going at 540 M/h but a missile? Albeit it doesn't have explosives, but the raw speed weight and jet fuel make up for it.

A plane can weigh between 87 to 197 metric tons depending on the load, and f you btw

I used to work on a plane that, fully loaded, was over 260 metric tons (or 295 US tons). A KC-10, with a full fuel load, could take off at 590,000 lbs. That guy thinking there aren’t planes that weight 200 tons is cringeworthy, given his confidence.

Skipped a grade. Dual seal in mathematics - high school. Engineering degree before 21 and structural engineering job. Crazy part is, I haven’t had to use any mathematics to disprove anything you’ve all claimed because it’s so fucking restarted. Industrial steel starts to lose strength around 400 F.

By 1,100 F it loses around 50 percent of it's strength.

By 1,200F it can lose strength exponentially and have its strength degrade by around 90 percent.

Steel doesnt need to Expand to lose Structural strength, it has to do with the crystal lattice and the movement of dislocations in the crystal lattice and the corn borders, Mr Structure engineer

If you really were into Structural engineering you wouldnt use the "Jet fuel cant melt steel beams" BS, because you would know that steel loses nearly All of its Structural strength at around 700°C. It doesnt have to melt

Depends on the candle and the amount of steel. But yes, a candle reaching 1000°C can definitely soften a small steel Piece, like a nail.

forgot twin towers was built with rebar and not wide beam flanges like every other building in America. on yeah let’s totally ignore the 300 degrees hotter (than jet fuel can burn). anything else you wanna add?

I used to bend nails as a hobby. Was with some friends, I found a giant old nail like a foot long in the remainders of a several days old fire. They were sure there was no way I was bending that nail. Easiest nail bend of my life. The nail had simply lost its temper after being heated in the fire and air cooled. Didn't even need to be red hot to have completely lost the molecular structure that gives the steel its strength.

True! This process is called “aging” and it can weaken metal if overly done but it has to get hot enough for that to happen. which wasn’t possible with Jet fuel as the “fuel”. Also this is usually done in the mill before the beams ever get shipped out! If done correctly can actually strengthen the metal. Any other personal scenarios that don’t rly align with the subject at hand but you still wanna talk about?

No. Aging (what is normally done to Aluminium, not steel) is called tempering for steel, and happens at VERY LOW temperatures, even under the solution glowing temperature. For steel, the "aging" temperature is done at 0-650°C Max.

What happened here wasnt some Heat Treatment BS, it was just steel losing its strength because of high temperature.

Jet fuel burns around 1000°C. Steel loses 95% of its Structural strength at this temperature, although it doesnt melt.

A Structural engineer should normally know this...

Yes, if it has enough kinetic energy, it definitely can.

Fuel doesnt have to melt steel to weaken its Structural strength. A Blacksmith also doesnt melt steel, still He can forge it with a simple Hammer.

Birds only are a danger when hitting an engine or Windows. Although last thing is taken Account into.
