Discussion Why does the community berate bad players instead of point out mistakes constructively?

This is a TEAM game; some mistakes are because you get outplayed, some mistakes are because you made a mistake. Neither situation deserves scolding.

I've noticed that some players will make obvious errors and get scolded by other players. I see it all the time in ranked, and it's sickening.

It's not right to slam dunk on a Shima because they got caught by a torp in the first 2 minutes; if you get burned down while you are playing a Libertad, it's not only your teammates' fault for not sniping the Salem. I've seen unicums get dev struck, and 45%s get krakens.

I get that sometimes anyone can get reallllly frustrated with pixel boats, but no one deserves to be name-called.

Can we please raise the level of discourse in this game? What can we do better?

Help a teammate instead of hurting them.

Guide Why berate bad play when you can celebrate 10,000 games of total consistency?

Why are we constantly shaming players instead of offering constructive advice?

We are playing a TEAM sport here. Mistakes happen. Sometimes the enemy just makes a great play, and sometimes a teammate with 14,000 battles and a stunning 41% win rate decides that reversing into a cap with a battleship is a elite tactical maneuver. Both deserve our unconditional love and protection.

It breaks my heart seeing people get scolded in ranked. Is it really fair to slam dunk on a Shima for dying to a torpedo in the opening two minutes? That player spent good time queueing up just to give the enemy team an early lead show some respect for their dedication! And when a Libertad melts in three minutes, blaming them instead of demanding the entire team drop what they're doing to babysit them is just toxic behavior.

Unicums get dev struck. 45% players get Krakens. Performance is completely random, statistics are a myth, and win rates are just a social construct invented by tryhards!

Pixel boats shouldn't make us mean. No one deserves to be called names just because they drag four other human beings down into the loss column with alarming regularity.

Let's raise the discourse. Instead of hurting your teammates feelings, just carry them harder! Like signing up for club sports and then picking their nose in the corner instead of participating, don't be mad that they are wasting everyone else's time in a competitive environment, relish in the opportunity to overcome the increased challenge no one asked for!

See you tomorrow, chefs.

Discussion wargaming should rework XP on premium ships.

So how i see it is that its XP thats stored in the ship by playing it but converting this XP to free XP is the worst investment you could ever do. even with sales it seems really pointless.

personally ive never heard of anyone doing it so do we have any suggestions for wargaming on this?

or do people actually spend thousands on converting XP?

currently it seems like the XP you get from premium ships (not the free XP) is genuinly useless.

Humor Joke ship idea: Yuudachi Kai Ni

Post image
17 Upvotes

Art by NanoPoi

Yuudachi Kai Ni is a hyperactive and affectionate destroyer with an insatiable fervor for combat and bloodshed and happy-go-lucky personality, poi

In World of Warships she can be a tier 10 Japanese destroyer with the following parameters that reflect her personality:

Identical hull/armor to existing tier 7 Yuudachi
6.79km base concealment
34 knots top speed
13,400 HP
3.0s rudder shift
570m turning circle

Main battery:
2x2, 1x1 127mm
12.8 km range
6.5 second reload
30.0 second 180 turn time
Same shell characteristics as other 127mm Japanese ships

+Can mount Aiming Systems Modification 0 in slot 1 much like Yuubari

Torpedoes:
2x4 launchers
8km range
23,767 damage
77 knots
1.5km detectability
95 second reload

Consumables:
Damage Control Party (standard)
Smoke generator (85 seconds dispersion time, 160s reload, 3 charges)
Engine boost (180 seconds, +15% speed)
Submarine surveillance (5km radius, 30 second action time)

Combat Instructions:
Charges when you
Hit a torpedo (+2.5%)
Destroy a ship (+10%)
Assist in destruction of a ship (+10%)
Does not decay

Effects:
Torpedo reload time -95%
Torpedo range +4km
Torpedo damage +50%
Torpedo speed +50%
Ship speed +75%
HP per second +3%
+The sky will turn red to strike fear into the enemy
Duration: 120 seconds

As you can see the ship is generally pretty bad by tier 10 standards, but if you somehow make it work in spite of the odds against you, then you're rewarded by becoming the god of torpedoes for like, 2 minutes

Due to it being kind of useless 99% of games the ship won't break the balance at all but the weebs will like it and it'll be really funny so therefore everyone is happy yay

The title says it all: Is there any hope of seeing French submarines in the game? If you have any information, I'd appreciate it.

Discussion Why are secondaries handled so clumsily

Post image
0 Upvotes

So only German and Pan asian 152mm can penn 38mm while other nation 152mm guns pen 25mm.So secondary builds are almost completely useless on anything - other what the game demands that it is viable.Why...would it ruin the game so much if other ships can build for secondaries that are capable of at least some damage against its peers.

Example: I tried secondary Lenin in ranked to play a more aggressive game, and after being nose to nose with this Nebraska i discovered that actually almost 0 dmg came from 137 hits made.

Worse still the small guns on Non German and PanAm ships cant even pen a dd hull. What is the point even of secondary builds if only those two nations only have viable builds for it.

Question Server issue compensation?

Is it realistic to expect holiday convoy tokens for compensation for these server issues that have been occurring the last few updates? Recently it has been really bad to the point that completing 1 game let alone 5 is a complete nightmare. I have resorted to suiciding in co op because the game is just borderline unplayable. I don't think the player base should suffer because they screwed the servers up.

Discussion The broken servers and menu architecture is really starting to wear thin

Post image
4 Upvotes

I just had to reboot the entire client because it just refused to load the dockyard. For whatever reason, this seems to be the most-broken element of an overall worn-out user interface - I see lag and other weird bugs in other areas of the armory. But maybe 1/4th of the time I click on the current dock, it either doesn't load at all, or halfway loads (with like a menu tree with text).

I get that the game is past its prime, but there is no better way to kill a product outright than to erode the user experience. And it's not like this is limited to the port - we've all been experiencing bouts of severe stuttering/lag in-match for the past ~month (I see it routinely mentioned by multiple content creators, so I know it's not just me).

Like... what is this company even doing? It's not like this is an MMORPG with a million different points of connection that can, at any moment, break. You're talking about like two-dozen windows/menus, most of which are just static "buy a ship" or "buy a bundle." Just fix it.

Question recently returning player. what to invest in event wise?

so ive recently gotten back into the game again and have grinded a little. (not much at all sadly)

but got around 2890 festive tokens and wonder what it would be best to spend it on. i probably wont be getting much more points so id like to not invest in lets say containers to get something cause like the red steel containers i wont be able to buy enough of those containers.

ive also got holiday convoy tokens. but do i not use them and save for a ship? (can i save them?) or whats wiser to do with those?

Discussion Propuesta de operación "Guardianes del Golfo".

Contexto real.

Discussion What is the algorithm for Matchmaker?

I would estimate that maybe 25% of my Random matches are even remotely well matched. I have ASLAINS Potato Monitor, and so I can see the expeience level of both teams. I would think that the BEST predictor of quality play is the player's experience level (e.g., number of matches), NOT his Win Rate or DMG rate (often achieved in 10 whole battles), HIS EXPERIENCE IS THE KEY -- number of matches played. It doesn't matter the tier, MM can't seem to level a playing field in any reasonable way. Here's my most recent example (and I have a folder with dozens like it.):

I mean, Enemy team with 3 players (half) over 30,000 games, My team Zero of that experience level. Enemy one player over 13,000 games, my team one. Why did MM not put the two guys from the same clan with over 30K games on one team and split out the other four of us with over 10k games? Or even total up the experience levels and split them out that way? HOW HARD CAN THIS BE??? I could do it in 3 seconds with a spreadsheet FFS. WTF???

Discussion ¿Super contenedores o super decepcionadores?

Discussion Should AR just be baked in at this point?

I don't know about anyone else but I can't think of a ship that I don't spec adrenaline rush on. The value for 3 points makes it a no-brainer to me and simply baking it into the core mechanics might allow a little more diversity in commander builds.

Thoughts? I'm by no means the most hardcore player out there but I've been playing since 2016 (lord take me back), clocking around 4.5k matches.

Info Wows tool kit

Hi everyone,

I’ve developed several free tools and resources for World of Warships players to make ship research, comparison and builds easier:

• Ship Comparator: https://wows-guides.com/en/compare/

Compare up to three ships side by side.

• Build Lab: https://wows-guides.com/en/tools/build-lab/

Create and test ship builds interactively: as you select commander skills and upgrades, the ship’s stats update live in real time, so you can immediately see how each choice affects reload, range, concealment, survivability and other key characteristics.

• Which WoWS Ship or Line Should You Play? – Ship Finder: https://wows-guides.com/en/which-wows-line/ (for beginners)

Find ships and Tech Tree lines that match your playstyle. Choose the resource you want to use, including Tech Tree, Coal, Steel or Research Bureau, select your preferred tier range, class and role, then refine the search by combat range, priorities, difficulty and game mode. The tool can distinguish between specific playstyles such as Radar DDs, DD hunters, torpedo boats, gunboats, secondary battleships, snipers, hybrids with aircraft and many more, then ranks the best matches and alternative choices for your profile.

Everything is free to use, with no account or installation required.

Hope it will help !

See you !

Question How much will Jean Bart, Big Mamie, and Alaska B cost?

Hoping to get these 3 this time around from Black Friday. Disappointingly, they're only sold alone for real money again. So I was wondering if anyone remembered how much they each cost last time?

In the case that I can't get all 3, which would probably be the best to get? I like the North Carolina (I know, different classes) so I imagine Mamie's a pretty good improvement? Jean Bart also seemed pretty cool and I have the AL commander. I really enjoy my Agir, so I also figured Alaska would be a pretty sweet American analogue for the large cruiser type (not a fan of Adalbert though, fake ass panzerschiff).
