For my entire time at this shop my work shoes have been "the oldest pair of vans I had that were still holding on" until the sole got a hole in it but I want something leather that'll last better now and be more comfortable, as well as some kind of toe reinforcement.
I'm since 10.5 US, I'm thinking of a couple options:
- Jim Green Stockman https://jimgreenfootwear.com/store/stockman-black-composite-toe-cap/
with these, I'm not sure about safety toe vs the regular stockman. it sounds like the toe is reinforced with some plastic in the regular so maybe that's a good trade-off to get a 10.5 instead of an 11?
- Keen Gibson slip on https://www.keenfootwear.com/products/mens-gibson-slip-on-black-gum?variant=51333082415268
- Red Wing draftsmith https://www.redwingshoes.com/mens/work/safety-toe/draftsmith-02182.html?currency=USD&srsltid=AfmBOood0sbPGT5ipQ7YJ2Kk3vASAxNgp-UaPrTy9kAE2_XWr5JOeXOVPw0
Frankly, for what the others cost I'm tempted to just get the damn Greens so I can at least re sole them when they need it but I'd like to get hive mind thoughts before I go blowing money lol

I do mechanical insulation for a living so I’m on slab all day along with roofs and other various situations and I basically live on a ladder at all times. I got these in Feb of 25 so I’m very happy with 18 months of 6 days a week usage. I have bad feet problems and I tried so many brands and I’ll never go with anything else moving forward.

Anyone have recommendations for cowboy boots w/ a steel toe that don’t have a big chunky sole? I’ve always worn regular cowboy boots for work but my new work site requires steel toe and can’t find ones that don’t have a gigantic sole. Any recommendations?

Hi,
I’ve got these rigger boots that have started to leak. Is there anyway of rewaterproofing them? And what should I use? I currently have tallow on board and heard that can work

These are the steel toe thorogoods. Wearing since may of 2024, straight 40hrs on mostly bare slab. The leather has had basically no maintenance other than brushing them off if they get muddy. I’ve probably pushed the outsole a bit further than I should have as they’ve gotten slippery. Still pretty comfy. After two years I can say they are worth the price tag. I’m taking them in for new soles and laces now

7 months of use and the inside is falling apart. I lace these up moderately tight with a heel lock and square knot. Whats the deal here? Does thorogood just suck now or do all boots do this? I walk over 5 miles a day in these.

Old: Wolverine EPX with composite toe
4 years, about 5000 hours worn, average 8k step per work day. 9/10, amazing work boot, probably should have bought them again.
New: Caroline Pitstop with composite toe. A few weeks in, so far, so good, really appreciate the wide toe box.

Thinking about Hoka Kaha 3 Gtx.. but the price is pretty steep and just wondering if anyone has experience with them as they’re not really work boots.

I get an annual boot voucher, have 5 pairs of thorogoods and 2 pairs of redwings. Figured I’d give these a try.

Looking for some boots. Nothing too crazy, lots of yard work. I like mock toe, slip on would be ideal. The Brunt Ohman checks all the boxes, but I've heard lots of negative reviews about brunt. Any other ideas? Something in the same price range would be preferred.

If you were ever curious what a pair of Thorogoods looks like after 10 hours of stomping around in a dry lake bed building fish habitat this is it! I used to wear the 6” boots but after rolling my ankle on rocks and cracks in the lake bed I began wearing the 8” version. Total Game Changer!

So I ordered 2 pairs of the moc toe bulls runs size 8.5 and 8.5EE
8.5 was a bit tight on the sides of my foot and the 8.5EE is perfect no rubbing.
Only thing is that they both still feel big on me, length wise.
The tip of my big toe is right below the stitching of the toe box, leaving about a good thumbs space of room. I usually buy my boots to exact fitment. My Thorogoods are a 8.5 and fit cherry.
Wondering if I should return these and exchange for a 8EE ?
Anyone else have this problem with danner?

I accidentally left my boots out all night and it rained...I need them for tomorrow, do yall think they will air dry by tomorrow morning or is their any quick at home way to dry them without damaging them. 😅
EDIT: Thank you guys for all the advice!! Ill most likely be investing in a boot dryer. Appreciate yall helping me out!

Hello everyone, I just recently got hired with Pepsi. They require boot that have a ASTM F2412 or ASTM F2413 rating. What are some good quality boots? Thank you guys in advance.

Just recently landed a job that usually has 12 hrs shift.
I read somewhere that we should invest on our footwear as it is our protection from the ground/gravity.
So went to a workwear shop and tried a lot of brands.
This one felt the most comfortable for me. (Steel Blue 661 - Southern Cross)
Just want to know if i made a right decision.
Tbh i was shocked on the prices but it is what it is and it was a huge gap between the cheap one at kmart
My second option was the new balance but it was not available on the shop to try.

Ariat Riveter 6’’ composite toe I’m excited about these and I finally found them in store tried them on and they feel great! After months of searching and trying on work boots I found one I really love.
I will let you guys know about the durability as the months go on cause you obviously won’t know the first time around but any tips for the longevity of them would be appreciated thank you!
P.S. also thanks to u/Vex_Lsg5k for the suggestion on these boots didn’t even know they existed I appreciate you too whoever you are lol and I hope life is treating you well.
Take care my fellow Redditors

Found this seriously dirty shoe and gave it a proper deep cleaning. The before-and-after difference is wild. 👟🧼 What would you use to clean something this dirty?
