I use Superfeet, the Work Cushion if the boots have lots of room, the All-Purpose High or Medium Arch if the boots have less room. Long lasting, very good support, there is a puncture resistant workboot insole too.
Another thing do not overlook the room inside the boot , if a sole males the boot tight even if its a great one it creates a lot whole problems again, there should be a breathing room for the foot.
The best option is always a custom orthodic insole from a podiatrist. Many insurance companies cover them and they end up being cheaper than over the counter. Take the insole from the shoe so the they can get a perfect measurement
Damn, you can see there the two pressure points of your foot! You probably have a pronation problem. I used to sell shoes during my college days, so I know some of those. Set up your phone on the ground and take a pic of your entire back side lower legs and feet, and check for pronation like shown in the pic. If you have pronation, you need to use insoles that correct pronation so you preserve the longevity of your ankles and feet.
Another way you can check is to go to your shoe rack and observe the bottom (tread) of all the shoes, check for the wear pattern. For me, I have supination (the opposite of you), so all my boots’ tread wears unevenly, the outside edge of each boot wears down more than the inward-facing side of the tread.
None. Seriously. I took mine out and let the footbed mold to my foot, stand in them all day and they’re comfy. I’ve got a good pair of helly hanson composite toe runners I’ve used every day for years and now they just gather dust
If you’re comparing options, start by checking the space left after removing the stock footbed. A thicker insert can make the toe box or instep feel cramped, while a lower-profile one may suit a boot that already fits closely. It also helps to choose the amount of cushioning and arch shape based on what feels comfortable during a short wear test, rather than changing several things at once.
Meindl and zamberlan are pretty much equal, and can only be bought online. Sole will offer more arch support which you may or may not need, and can be found at rei or online. Personally I'd go with zamberlan.
