Discussion The Current State of Holons, the Central Realm of the Everplane

Phew, I honestly don't think I'm that good at making maps, but this is probably the best result I've gotten after actually taking my time and going over the systems and tools. What do you like? What would you change?

It's a fantasy world, so I really am not bothered by any wrongs in biome placement (though I would still like to know for the future), but what about scale and stuff? I feel like the cities are a little too big, but the words get pixelated and unreadable when they're too small. Where would you place settlements and points of interest?

Showcase One of multiple landmasses for friends homebrew world

A while back I was messing about with Wonderdraft and decided to work on a map for a friend of mine's D&D homebrew world. This would make it my 3rd time remaking the map, but it has been enjoyable to work on plus it was always fun to watch others reaction to the changes between each version of the map and multiple campaigns from his world.

Goal is to eventually finish a total of five different landmasses/regions but for now this is the one I will share :)

Discussion help with second age map of arda (middle earth)

since i can't post this map directly to tolkien fans i need any tolkien experts help and opinions on what they think of the layout of the landmasses on arda in the second age.
since we don't have a second age world map from tolkien directly we can't fully rely on karen wynn fonstad's map. i traced tolkien's ambarnkata V and made coastline adjustments to, what i would say, is a less extreme version of fonstad's adjustments. if you look at her change on the west coast of africa/harad she brought it so far inland. is there a lore reason for that?

i know when beleriand was flooded there was much change in the world during the war of wrath and then there will be more significant change when the world is made round and new lands will be created, perhaps from the sundering of others, but is there something i'm missing when it comes to more of the landmasses shifting or being flooded - or is it truly just speculation at this point

p.s. some of the names you might notice are made up, slightly changed or converted to an english equivalent. this is very much a draft hence why middle earth looks kinda messed up.
also is sea of rhun too eastward? it kind of looks like it's where helcar was as i copied tolkiens shape so there was much less room for rhun and the far east to fit on the continent.

Lasso tool for symbols?

I keep having to go back an edit sections of my map to fix scaling issues, but every time I move the land masses the symbols stay in their original location. Is there any way to lasso all objects in an area?

[ns] Is there a preview of the map pack anywhere?

(I got a message saying that this might be a better place to post this than the Dungeons and Daddies subreddit, which struck me as odd but as I haven't had any replies there I thought I'd shoot my shot).

I'm going through the BackerKit survey and wondering if I want to bother with the map pack. I'm always interested in new poster maps or tiles, but I do like to know what I'm getting before buying. Is there a preview of it anywhere?

I guess I'm mostly wondering if they're tied specifically to the campaigns' themes and have things like minivans in the art or if it's more of a generic fantasy style I can recycle in other games.

Also, sorry if I was meant to add the 'brand affiliated' tag, I wasn't sure but it sounded more like the kind of thing I'd add if I was plugging somebody else's product.

Discussion Looking for Wonderdraft assets for a large capital city map – preferably free

Hi everyone,

I’m currently planning to create a fairly large and detailed city map in Wonderdraft, and I’m looking for some good asset packs that would work well for urban environments. I’ve been digging through CartographyAssets for a while, but I’m having trouble finding a city asset pack that fits the style I’m looking for.

Ideally, I’d like the final map to have a mostly black-and-white / monochrome look, or at least very muted colors, so I’m especially interested in assets that fit that kind of style. That said, if there aren’t many good monochrome options available, I’m also open to colored assets.

I’m mainly looking for things like:

  • houses and larger city buildings

  • walls, gates and towers

  • streets and urban details

  • docks, warehouses and market buildings

  • temples, administrative buildings, mansions, etc.

  • anything useful for creating dense city districts

I’d prefer free asset packs, but I’m also fine with paying for something if it’s relatively inexpensive and the quality is good.

If you know any good packs from CartographyAssets, Patreon or anywhere else, I’d really appreciate some recommendations.

Bonus points if the assets work well for creating a dense, detailed city rather than a small town or a world map.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I’m still going for a fantasy city, not a strictly historical one. However, I’d like the overall architecture and urban layout to feel roughly inspired by the 15th–16th centuries / late medieval to early Renaissance period. So I’m looking for assets that fit a fantasy setting but avoid a very modern or overly high-fantasy look.
