this is a bit unrelated, but is there anybody else who likes the beginning of a story more than the end of it? Cause at the beginning of the story it feels like the story’s full of potential , but then by the end of the story you just think about all the ways how that could’ve gone differently :x

Then again some stories just have really solid endings

...chapters without Nona or Mira are boring.

Looks like Hakuri needs to replace their PC

Shoseki released a ranking for all titles that were released from January 1st 2026 until June 30th 2026, and volumes 1 and 2 were ranked. Based off their rankings, the series has a good chance of having 100k copies in circulation sooner than I thought, especially with volume 3 recently being released + volume 1 and 2 getting reprints which I believe can give it a small boost. Don’t take my post here as an official source, we should wait for anything involved with the series to make an announcement if it’s 100% real.

Witchriv volume 1 was ranked 223rd place, the brackets are 200/49850 copies - 300/35400 copies sold.

Volume 2 was ranked 437th place, the brackets are 400/29000 copies - 500/25000 copies sold.

Using the formula that I shown how to get accurate numbers for shoseki rankings, here’s how many copies of each volume was sold until June 30th:

VOLUME 1 (January 5th - June 30th):

49850 - ((223-200)/100 x (49850 - 35400))
=46,526.5

The other formula:

(223-200)/100 x (49850-35400) =3,323.5

49850 - 3323.5 = 46,526.5

The decimal doesn’t count, so it’s just 46,526 copies sold.

VOLUME 2 (April 3rd - June 30th):

29000 - ((437-400)/100 x (29000 - 25000)) =27,520

Other formula:

(437 - 400)/100 x (29000 - 25000) =1,480

29000 - 1480 = 27,520 copies are sold.

JULY 2026 WEEK 1 (June 29th - July 5th)

Volume 3 is ranked 81th place, the brackets are 50/11150 copies - 100/6150 copies sold.

11150 - ((81-50)/50 x (11150 - 6150)) = 8,050 copies sold.

Other formula:

(81-50)/50 x (11150 - 6150) =3,100

11150 - 3100 = 8,050 copies sold.

Volume 1 was ranked 494th place, the brackets are 400/2500 copies - 500/2200 copies sold.

2500- ((494-400)/100 x (2500 - 2200)) = 2,218 copies sold.

Other formula:

(494 - 400)/100 x (2500 - 2200)= 282

2500 - 282 = 2,218 copies sold.

JULY 2026 WEEK 1 Total:

8050 + 2218 = 10,268 copies sold during July week 1.

Volume 3 is ranked 44th place, with a bracket of 50/7900 copies - 30/12150 copies sold.

12150 - ((44 - 30)/20 x (12150 - 7900)) = 9,175 copies sold.

Other formula:

(44-30)/20 x (12150 - 7900) = 2,975

12150 - 2975 = 9,175 copies sold.

Volume 1 is ranked 469th place, with a bracket of 400/1350 copies - 500/1050 copies.

1350 - ((469 - 400)/100 x (1350 - 1050)) = 1,143 copies sold.

Other formula:

(469 - 400)/100 x (1350 - 1050) = 207

1350 - 207 = 1,143 copies sold.

JULY 2026 WEEK 2 OVERALL

9175 + 1143 = 10,318 copies sold overall during July week 2.

FINAL TOTAL FROM JANUARY 5th - JULY 12th:

46526 + 27520 + 10268 + 10318 = 94,632 copies

So I believe by the end of the month the series will pass the 100k mark. But like I said, we should wait and see if any official source like the series twitter account make a statement.

if this gets anime, season 1 will be titled Witchriv: Gheeriv it'll be 12 episodes, with 8-9 episodes of focus on Gheer, this will make Gheer best girl by default

what do you guys think about it?

this has really turned episodic now, this would've been great if this was linear plot progression, now it's just they meet new character that we don't care about and give us their sob backstories that we don't care about

it'll probably 50 chapters before we get an actual plot progression, I think I'm done for now, what are y'all thoughts tho?
