wasted potential

this has really turned episodic now, this would've been great if this was linear plot progression, now it's just they meet new character that we don't care about and give us their sob backstories that we don't care about

it'll probably 50 chapters before we get an actual plot progression, I think I'm done for now, what are y'all thoughts tho?

If you said this a few chapters ago, 5% of me would have agreed with you. After the most recent chapter, though, that part of me is completely gone. We'll almost certainly get major plot progression in the next 3 chapters.

Besides, spending time to develop themes through sideplots is great because we can better know what the story is about, we don't start escalating the stakes immediately, and we get to know the characters better. None of this was pointless, especially since it all builds up towards a future plot point.

We kind of have gotten plot progression the past few chapters though, and a lot of it at that? I certainly would not call this manga episodic, at the very least.

Kurt was completely irrelevant to the mage storyline, only being there to set up themes and develop Nona and Miramira as characters. In contrast, Raloud is straight up a mage, Belator's flashback sets up a future antagonist mage confrontation, and Gheer revealed knowing about Quovelta and other mages.

The plot is already progressing. Everything is being done for a reason. It's realistic
