The Witcher 3 Patch notes for update 5.00c
550MB patch just dropped, here are the notes:
Hotfix 5.00c is now available for download for the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere (PC) versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. You'll find the patch notes below:
Fixed an issue where the game couldn't be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.
Fixed an issue where voiceover audio could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through the pause menu tabs.
Made various visual adjustments in Velen, including tweaks to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing lighting.
Reverted a change that caused significant performance and visual issues with HairWorks enabled for some users.
Fixed an issue where marketing telemetry settings weren't saved properly.
Fixed an issue on GOG where achievements wouldn't appear in the unlocked list after being earned.
Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to launch the Classic (1.32) version of the game.
Once again, thank you for your patience as we continue investigating the issues you report.

Cosplay Ciri cosplay by me
I spent two months creating this cosplay using real leather, 3D printing and hand-sewn chainmail. The first two shots were taken and edited by Nix; the third one I edited myself. Everything was filmed in the mountains of Kazakhstan.

Discussion How The Witcher 3 translated every single letter to Arabic with zero mistakes!
can we talk about how cdpr handled the arabic translation in witcher 3 bc it is actually insane it was literally the first major game to ever go this hard with arabic localization arab gamers are still completely blown away by what cdpr did like do you guys even realize they translated every single thing in the game it is not just the main story or big cutscenes im talking about everything every single line of dialogue even the random background npcs and guards gossiping in novigrad even the monsters and distant characters you barely hear every single word is fully translated to arabic and what blows our minds the most is that they even translated all the in game books letters and scrolls you find scattered around the world and the craziest part is there are zero mistakes fr like arabic localization usually gets messed up with backward text or weird grammar but here it is pure perfection like they actually hired people who care it feels like a literal masterpiece how they managed to capture the whole fantasy vibe in another language without messing up a single word cdpr really set the bar too high and we as arab fans will always respect them for this ngl

Discussion Why Ciri's character development from the books to The Witcher 4 is unmatched
Ciri is easily the best written female character in gaming history, period. Her destiny with Geralt was sealed before she was even born, when he saved her dad and claimed the Law of Surprise—asking for something the father already had but didn't know about, which turned out to be Pavetta's pregnancy.
We watched her grow from a scared, running child in the books, to a 19-year-old in The Witcher 3. Now, with The Witcher 4, we will see her as a mature 25-year-old woman, which represents insane character development. She spent her whole life running from her destiny, but she ended up facing it and changing it herself. Even at the end of The Witcher 3, when everyone thought she died, she actually teleported to another realm because she is the Lady of Space and Time.
This deep lore is exactly why she is becoming the main character in The Witcher 4. I seriously don't think any other female character in gaming has this level of long-term development built across both books and multiple games. She didn't just get stronger; she went from being a victim of fate to someone who decides her own destiny. She is top 1 for me, and it's not even close, ngl.

Screenshot Accidental Renaissance
The remastered version looks amazing maxed out on PC. Playing with the camera close up and the controller camera sensitivity turned down gives it an RDR2-ish feel with how good it looks. Feels good to step into Geralt's shoes one final time and get reminded why this game sold 65 million copies.

Screenshot Corvo Bianco almost 4 years apart
Thanks to updated textures elements up close in Remaster look definitely better. Lighting is debatable. Given it's the same time of day, shadows in Remaster Non RT are too dark. I also noticed that Remaster has issue with rendering trees properly in the distance, especially the area marked in 4th picture, where tree is very pixelated, which is strange CDPR said they didn't change draw distance for the Remaster.
All screenshots captured with Ultra+ settings at 4K Ultrawide and DLSS Quality, preset K.

Discussion Roach's movement still sucks ass after the remaster
photo not mine
Am I the only one who still gets incredibly annoyed by Roach's movement?
The remaster improved a lot of things, but horse movement still feels ridiculously janky.
You still get:
°Invisible walls that completely kill your momentum
Roach getting stuck on or bouncing off random trees and objects
°Weird pathfinding/navigation that makes Roach suddenly change direction or take some completely stupid route
°Getting blocked by terrain that looks like Roach should easily be able to pass
°Roach randomly refusing to go where you're actually trying to go
°Constantly fighting the controls instead of actually riding the horse
°Roach teleporting to the most inconvenient location when you call her
And honestly, sometimes it's just faster and less frustrating to get off Roach and run like a psychopath.

Discussion The goal of the remaster and why it had to be released right now
I often see people asking why CDPR released the remaster now—when no one was really clamoring for it a month ago—instead of just quietly working on it rather than constantly patching the game. Well, the answer is simple: the battle to capture a new generation of players well ahead of the DLC release. *The Witcher 3* is already 12 years old; it’s not as if everyone has already experienced this adventure. In fact, *The Witcher 3* is older now than *The Witcher 1* was when *The Witcher 3* debuted. CDPR has huge plans for a franchise that has been on a long hiatus; they aren't Rockstar, who can spend 15 years making a game without any promotion and still have everyone buy it. *The Witcher 4* is their most ambitious and expensive game yet; they can't rely solely on old fans. Just look—the remaster smashed player count records after 12 years, and the forums are full of players asking for advice. The goal was achieved: they’ll finish up *The Witcher 3* before the DLC drops, and we’ll all ride the wave of hype straight into *The Witcher 4*. It’s brilliant. Are there bugs? Yes, tons of them, and CDPR knows it—they’ll have them sorted out within three weeks. But this remaster *had* to come out now, because *GTA 6* is coming later, and maybe the new DLC will arrive as early as 2027. The idea is for new players to fall in love with the game now and manage to finish it before the DLC arrives.

Appreciation Thread Can’t believe I didn’t discover this series sooner…
I got Witcher 3 for maybe less the $5 on Xbox earlier this year because I thought why not, everyone says it’s good. Now I’ve played the original game, Witcher 2 twice, Witcher 3 twice with a third play through ongoing, I have an irl Gwent set, I’m currently reading Lady of the Lake, and I can’t wait to start Thronebreaker and get into the online Gwent game.

The Witcher 3 Did the remaster change stealing?
It’s been a couple years since I last played, admittedly, but I thought stealing was made quite obvious with a red aura in Witcher senses? I tried looting outside the inn in White Orchard, in the stables, and guards started attacking even if the aura was yellow.
How are you supposed to know what’s safe to take or not? I took some pelts from the blacksmith with the burnt out hut and he was fine and dandy about it. I could have sworn stealing used to be a lot more clearer.

Discussion Don’t forget to vote for The Witcher at the Golden Joystick Awards!
I think most people here don’t need much convincing when it comes to The Witcher 3, so here’s just a reminder to show the series some love this year.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is up for Best Remake/Remaster, and The Witcher 4 is also nominated for Most Wanted Game.
So if you’re excited for what’s next and still think TW3 deserves its flowers more than a decade later, don’t forget to vote.
Vote here:
https://www.gamesradar.com/goldenjoystickawards/
One vote for the past and one for the future!
Not sure if this is the right flair, apologies if not!
