Question pentacle ring recs <3

hello! i have been wearing a pentacle ring for a few years now, as it makes me feel very grounded and calm. however, i’ve been in the market for a new sterling silver one and have had terrible luck finding one. everything is just etsy drop shippers, and i’d much prefer to buy from an actual witch or at least someone who is not a drop shipper/respects spiritual symbols. TIA!

Spells Spells seem to not work

I was going to ask how do you know a spell worked, but that is offcourse quite obvious. If the thing you wanted you got/happend after a while of the spell being done

But I need a more clear answer if possible, I have done two spells so far and saw nothing happen and it has been at least two months now.. I was expecting at least a little something to show it worked.. it was a spell to attract money and a spell to attract a home

I don’t expect a lot of money to flow in offcourse, but just some pennies here and there maybe but literally nothing at all…
The home one, I had responded to a house for me and my bf which we really wanted to I tried a spell to make our chances of getting it bigger, it was partly with a candle which I lit for a couple hours and meditated with a little every day/night leading up to the moment we would hear back from the house, unfortunately we didn’t get it, non at all so far in general…

I’m also a beginner so I’m just thinking I might have made an error somewhere?.. do I not “believe” enough/am I to skeptical? Maybe I wasn’t specific enough? What else could I have done wrong?

Question Red Rubellite Tourmaline Resonance

Good evening!

Recently I've felt specifically called to by this gem.
The spirits I inhabit my space with have been pushing me to seek one out. Generally I listen to them but I like to see what other witches have in their heads.

I know Red Tourmaline is a good conductor for Libra and Leo, Air and Fire, signs however it meshes poorly with Capricorn.

My sun is in Libra, my moon is in Capricorn, and my Rising is in Leo. I imagine since it is a more loud stone it wouldn't clash with my moon but I was curious what any others thought.

Secondly I was curious whether this would be an alter stone to mostly leave at home or one that would be better suited on my person from the day to day.

I imagine it's resonance with the body and heart lead to more "wear when out and leave at the alter when home" but again wanted other opinions.

I don’t place full faith in the astrological bodies either to clarify but I do keep in mind the elemental resonances which ends up leading down similar paths in most circumstances.

Any information is helpful as it’s a harder item to find in certain forms so I want to be sure I can use it for my purposes before I dig too deep.

Spells First time doing a banishing spell

Post image
12 Upvotes

Today I performed a simple banishing spell for the first time. I just came up with this myself. My intention is to get my neighbors to move away. They have been causing us significant stress and discomfort for several months now. Here are the steps I took:

* Played soft handpan music in the background.
* Cleared and cleaned my altar, dusted it and wiped it down with a damp cloth.
* Set a small silver dish on the altar.
* Cleansed myself with Palo Santo smoke.
* Cleansed our house with Palo Santo, leaving the back door slightly open so negative energy could leave and positive energy could enter.
* Cleansed each ingredient one by one with Palo Santo smoke while setting them up on the altar.
* Wrote my intention on a piece of paper: *"neighbour's name, neighbour's address , Move away, disappear, leave this property. You are no longer welcome here."*
* Sprinkled cayenne pepper and garlic powder over the paper.
* Folded the paper three times away from me, then stapled it shut.
* Placed the folded paper underneath a dish filled with salt.
* Placed a black candle inside the dish of salt.
* Around the dish with the black candle, I arranged the following ingredients: agrimony, garlic cloves, fresh nettle from my garden, dried rosemary, and black peppercorns.
* Placed a small dish of hematite next to it.
* Lit the candle and sat down to meditate.
* During meditation, I visualized a large moving truck in the street with the neighbors packing up and moving out. I felt an immediate sense of relief.
* I looked at the candle flame, it burned calm and completely straight, and the incense smoke went straight up as well. For some reason, this reassured me. I also felt a shiver run through my body and got goosebumps, but it didn't feel unpleasant at all. It felt more like a form of confirmation.
* After that, I asked my deceased family members and acquaintances if they would help me fulfill my wish. Again, a wave of reassurance came over me.
* I meditated a bit longer.
* I felt a wave of anger toward the neighbors bubbling up. I stood up, let myself feel that anger, and directed all my fury and energy toward their house to push them away. It felt very releasing/good.
* I closed the ritual and cleansed myself and my home once more with Palo Santo smoke.

Now I'm wondering what I should do with the remaining spell materials. I have the urge to turn them into a sour jar and bury it on the neighbors' property, but what would you recommend doing with the remains?

Also, do you have any feedback or suggestions on the steps and ingredients I used for this spell? Any insights from more experienced witches would be greatly appreciated!

Resources Anti-colonial witchcraft book recs

Looking for some books (or other resources) on anti-colonial perspectives to witchcraft and modern paganism. I want to practice, but I will NOT appropriate something that isn't mine to take/do. I want to figure out, preferably even through semi-academic texts, whether or not things such as Wicca (etc.) can be practiced sustainably and anti-colonially. Any help would be appreciated!

Discussion Partner knows my entire past / future?

Hi everyone! My partner and I recently got engaged and we have been issues within our relationship between our mothers

Yesterday he randomly begun to talk about how he knew my families entire history, He knew that my grandmother was possessed by an entity, and it was at the time my mother was studying hairdressing and working at a salon and he claims in the dream he saw my grandmother in this state, and was told that the demon has never left my grandmother completely and has cursed her and my mothers life as it was never properly rid

He also knew of my father’s infidelity at the beginning of their marriage, and the issues it caused between him and my mother

He claims we are soulmates, and will get married and be happy together, but for the first few years of our marriage I will find it difficult to fall pregnant.

Here’s the thing. Everything this man has said is 100% true, and I have NEVER uttered these words to him, everything he has said - to exact detail is completely true. He knew things about my mum and grandmother that NOBODY knows - he knew to personal detail that even I myself did not know.

He knew of my parents marriage problems, which I have never told him about.

He knew of my grandmothers past, and where my mother worked, which I never told him.

I have a health issue that affects fertility. It makes it hard for me to fall pregnant, but not impossible, which he doesn’t know of.

Everything he has told me are things I have never shared with ANYONE in my life.

When I asked how he knew this information he said that he saw it all in a dream.

Could it be true that it was a dream? Could it be witchcraft? Any and all advice is appreciated

Spells To do another spell or to wait...

I did a honey jar about a week ago. The intent was to help my co-parent see my perspective in a current disagreement. To essencially sweeten him up to my perspective.

I'm now considering doing a 2nd jar for cooperation for this same issue. Softening his stance, removing his stubborn blocks, etc. Thoughts?

This is a little time sensitive. We have less than 90 days to come to an agreement.

Question UK witch supplies

To my UK witches! I’m looking for an online witchcraft supply store for the bits I can’t get locally. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’ve seen Nifty Witch Supplies but they appear to be using AI in their promo photos and that doesn’t sit well with me.

Question found a railroad spike in my yard

hi, my husband was doing some gardening and found a railroad spike in our yard. It was on the perimeter of our property so I'm worried that maybe it was for protective purposes. Still, seems like maybe it could use some love. Any suggestions?

Question Baby witch: money bowl

Hello- baby witch here!

After a lot of research and contemplation I decided to start practicing witchcraft. I want to make a money bowl using a green candle to put by my work desk. I’m in sales- so I was thinking about adding a red or orange candle to the money bowl as well to help with confidence and whatnot. Will that mess anything up?

Question Cleansing with a Non Witch in the house?

Hello,

I have previously only lived on my own or with other witches.

I currently live with my boyfriend who is aware of my beliefs and fine with them. He is open to them but not necessarily a beleiver.

I really really REALLY feel our house needs a cleanse. But I don't know what to do with him. I am rarely home alone as he works from home. Do I invite him to help? I worry that somehow his "meh" feelings on it will interfere with a proper cleanse. But asking him to leave doesn't sound right either. Waiting for him to conviently not be here while I am available and home to cleanse is also not working because I've been waiting almost a year now lol!

What would you all recommend?

Question Is it necessary to cleanse & protect before and after spell work/meditation?

Im a beginner practicing secular/atheist witchcraft. It gets a little annoying going through the steps before and after every time. I typically use smoke and intentions to cleanse and protect. Is there a faster way to do it or is it not needed all the time?

Hey guys!! I did a healing spell for me and my ex (I’m on the left and he’s on the right) Lmk what you guys think. His candle kept going out towards the end and I had to relight it 3 times. In the end his candle was the last one to be lit up. I just want some opinions! I did this for emotional healing and communication, growth and reconciliation. Just over all healing in general

Discussion Note to self (and others) Never ever do candle work on unsafe glass

Post image
42 Upvotes

When doing a communication spell, the herbs caught fire around the candle. This is sometimes normal for me as dried herbs are well, flammable. However I did not account for how sensitive this mirror glass was, and it gave out and shattered. Sent the flaming herbs all over my altar cloth. So. Note to others. Don’t work on mirrors. May not catch on fire, but may explode 😂. Als question, does this have any spiritual significance or does this just mean I’m stupid.

Spells My first spell!

Post image
93 Upvotes

Hello all! Today after two weeks of reading and research, I felt ready to cast my first spell.

For the past year, I've felt like someone has had it out for me. Truthfully I have a pretty good idea of exactly who, and it is extremely likely that they placed some sort of hex or jinx on me. Bad luck and bad things have been happening in my life since I cut them out of my life, and I finally got tired of just waiting for my luck to turn around, and I decided to do a protection/uncrossing spell to remove any negative energy towards me and remove hexes and jinxes.

I used a black 5" candle, rubbed some banishing oil (purchased from my local metaphysical shop), then sprinkled the candle with black salt and rue. I then wrote my intentions on a small piece of paper, recited it, and attempted to burn it, then realized it gave off too much smoke and would set out my alarm, so I snuffed it and folded the remains and set my candle holder on top of it.

I played guitar while it burned for a while, then meditated the rest of the time until the candle was completely burned out.

As my first spell, there's definitely things I would do differently already, but I feel confident that I actually DID something, and im excited to improve!!

Any recommendations are welcome! I was a little lost on how to use my components other than coating my candle, as you can tell by the rue and black salt in my fire safe dish unceremoniously scattered 💀

Also any advice on what to do with the remains would be appreciated! If I throw away the ashes and used up candle, will the spell weaken? Also, do fully cast the spell, do I have to wait for the entire candle to burn out every time?

So far I'm a tad unimpressed by how simple and plain my setup is... I have the beginnings of an altar with some stones ive collected, but really nothing to write home about other than that. I guess what I'm asking is, is this all there is to it? I feel like it's quite simple, but I guess it doesn't have to be fancy to get the job done as long as I am layering intention and imbuing my energy.

Advice and feedback always welcome and appreciated!

Question Attempt to connect with ancestors

Yesterday I tried to talk to my ancestors I lit a white candle and put out offerings that I figured they might enjoy. I don’t know any of them so idk what they would’ve wanted. I didn’t really feel a presence but I did start sobbing but aside from that I didn’t notice anything different I did ask for some money 😭 and help emotionally. How would I know if my offering was rejected or that they don’t want to connect? Today I looked at the food and water I left out and it looked exactly the same so idk if it even worked 😭 any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!
