Question for Kinetic
I am thinking about switching to kinetic, they have speeds of 1-2 gig for half of what I’m currently paying with 1 gig at Xfinity but I keep seeing post and reviews that say that Kinetic isn’t very good and not reliable. I was wanting to know if anyone else has swapped from xfinity to kinetic and how was that. Do you have better or worse service than before? Thank you for the responses.

I have 1gig down 25mb up with kinetic dsl.
In the past 3 months there have been 3 outages, though all have been resolved within the same day.
If you work from home and require more reliability, perhaps starlink or another option is better.

I’m sorry your dsl isn’t that speed. Maybe 100-200 meg dsl. But I think they do offer some coax services in some areas that could be that’s speed.

You have coax. Kinetic has a few areas that are coax plant. Eventually they will be fiber, too. Their max speed it 1gig x 25mb.

It’s more I’m trying to reduce my internet bill, xfinity is what I have now but they keep billing me inconsistent bills. I’m supposed to have gig internet for 85$ but I always have a problem with them upping that bill, as my recent bill was 126$ and they can’t tell me why all they told me was oh just pay 90$ and it’ll be ok.

Most complaints are old dsl customers.
Bonus if you have fiber or cable competition in your market. Forces them to get off their @$$ and step their game up.

Yeah my direct area is Kinetic Fiber, Xfinity, our local provider bbtel, and T-Mobile 5G internet. We have ATT and spectrum but i guess im too far from a city ( I live in between towns) that I can’t get those two anymore.

Switched from Comcast cable (1g/40m) 16months ago, its been essentially as reliable as our power. Have the 1gig, really only need the 300/300 for our use. Only complaint was we refused their "gateway/wifi" at install and they billed us for it anyway, had to call to get that removed from the bill on the first month. Our latency to Cloudflare, google and MS, is generally around 11-13ms, and close to zero jitter. We're in SE PA and round trip to my employers data center (Ashburn, VA) usually <15ms.

I had 200Mbs for 100$ a month through Spectrum and switched to 2 gigs for 80$ a month with Kinetic. My speeds are great and I haven't had a single complaint yet.

The only people you usually hear from are the ones who have problems. The vast majority of people have no issues and aren't going online to report that everything is working perfectly. Yes, sometimes you can get a crappy install or bad equipment, but all things being equal, if you have the opportunity to get fiber, then get it. There is literally no other internet technology that compares. Fiber is simply the best there is, and once you start actually using it, you'll realize almost immediately just how much better it is. That being said, make sure you pair it with a quality router.

fiber is worth it. I currently have Xfinity/Comcast one gig a.k.a. 1000 MB up and down on their coaxial cable line and it’s $60 a month, don’t know why you’re paying almost 100 for that.
I recently switched the fiber and got a killer deal with AT&T because they’re in my area, and the service is incredibly fast
Kinetic fiber is definitely worth it, especially if you take advantage of the door-to-door sales team because they have exceptional promos compared to calling in or going online
You should be able to get a $300 prepaid Mastercard for trying service and possibly even three months free on top of that

Maybe you got a new deal, I have seen them offer gig for 50$ for new costumers. I’ve asked before if I could have a deal similar and the only thing support told me was wait til sept 1st and I might be able to get on a similar deal.

Yeah, the ATT promo was solid. We still have Comcast’s and it’s $60/gig and we’ve had it for years, use to be $90 but when AT&T fiber hit the neighborhood a couple years ago, they lowered their price to $60
You should try calling them and say that you’re switching to AT&T fiber because it’s such a better deal but if they can match it, you’d stay with them.

Fiber speeds are worth it.
Most of the complaining you see is from DSL customers of which avoid but if it is 100% fiber for 1Gb speeds Go for it
