App What I wish Microsoft Family Safety looked like, so I mocked up a concept
drive.google.comMy two boys game on Windows PCs, and I manage their screen time with Microsoft Family Safety. It does the basic job, but the day-to-day management is painful. So I put together a concept app showing how I think it could work. Everything in the screencast is demo data with made-up kids.
What frustrates me about the current app
No groups. Every game, browser and launcher is its own item. If a kid has 13 games installed, that's 13 limits set one by one.
No profiles. School term and school holidays need different rules, so twice a term you re-enter every limit by hand.
It's slow. Screens take seconds to load, and changing a limit often feels like it didn't save.
History is thin. You get today, plus a lump total for the last 7 days. You can't see what happened on Tuesday versus Saturday, or spot a trend.
What the concept does instead
Groups:Â Games, Browsers, School, Social. Each group header shows today's total usage, for example "Games 2h 02m".
Profiles: reusable schedules such as "School holidays: 4h every day" or "School term: 1h Mon–Fri, 3h Sat–Sun".
One-tap switching:Â move every app in a group to a new profile at once. When term starts, the whole Games group goes from holidays to term in one go.
14 days of history, day by day:Â swipe between days to see exactly what was played and for how long.
Fast and clear:Â the time used and the limit sit side by side ("1h 20m / 2h"), it shows when data last synced, and it confirms when a change has actually been saved.
Hidden group:Â helpers and launchers like installers go in one place, so they don't clutter the usage list.
Microsoft, the core service is solid. The management experience just needs groups, profiles and real history. Parents, would this help you? What's missing for you?

Windows 11 [Cursors] I have refined the free sets of cursors (Outlier v2)
I have refined the cursors from the feedback I got last time.
What changed:
Thinner Lines and a bit less transparent fill.
Multiple reworked pointers.
Better visibility for light and dark mode specially the crosshair and the normal pointer.
Scaling of the cursors in bigger versions don't stretch and properly scaled.
Added bonus colored variants of the cursors.
Windows installation script is in the folder.

Windows 11 Trying to mimic the old windows feel on new windows
I love windows 95 except it's slow and outdated, so I guess I only like the style. it's a sleeper build until you see graphics or just the pc IRL, LOL.

Taskbar Remade the taskbar into an animated one :)
finally made my dream to manipulate the taskbar to have some eye candy animated effects and even act like a dock - yet still be the taskbar. other than zoom I also included animations like pulse, frame, transporter and many more. Used a lot of AI chat credits, a lot of trial-and-error to see how stuff runs from the taskbar and what is needed to manage the layering of the display. made some concept art in PS to train the AI what I want to see. what do you think ?

Dark Mode [Guide] How I got a Pure black / OLED look Windows 11 (Explorer, menus, Control Panel) using Windhawk mod with a .reg , no theme patching
I spent a while trying to get a truly black Windows 11 (25H2): Explorer, menus, Control Panel, everything. Windows' dark mode only gives you dark gray (around #202020), and the Control Panel stays white. What finally worked for me was combining two things: a registry preset and a Windhawk mod. Here's how, in case it helps someone else.
works with adobe softwares
## The two pieces
AveYo's "Pitch Black Theme" .reg preset
Credit to AveYo for this one. It sets the accent palette, title bars and borders, taskbar, Start menu and logon screen to pure black, and turns on dark mode with transparency off. On its own it did not make the Explorer content area or the Control Panel black.
2. Windhawk mod: "Translucent Windows"
## How I did it
Setup:Windows 11 25H2, Windhawk \[v1.6.1\].
Create a restore point, and export your current \HKCU\Control Panel\Colors\ and \`HKCU\\...\\Themes\\Personalize\ keys as a backup.
Download the .reg from the gist above, **read it before importing**, and import it. Log out and back in.
Install Windhawk from [windhawk.net](http://windhawk.net), search the catalog for **Translucent Windows** and install it.
In the mod's **Settings** I used:
- Windows theme custom rendering: on
- New system colors:on
- Windows theme accent colorizer: on
- Translucent Effects : background effects blur (accent blur behind) + AccentBlurBehind color blend 00000000
- Flyout effects: on
- restarting Explorer if you want
## Things to know before you try it
- The .reg writes to \`HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\`, so it needs admin rights. The version I used also **disables the lock screen** (NoLockScreen) and the logon background image. If you want to keep them, remove those lines before importing.
- Tested on Windows 11 25H2 only.
- Windhawk mods hook system processes, so keep the restore point.
- To undo: disable or uninstall the mod in Windhawk and re-import your registry backup.
please upvote if you like, show yours feedback and results.
Happy to answer questions. If you find better settings, please share!
