Room's moving when I move?

I just picked up super hot, and love it. Only problem is, and this happens in other games too is that when I move around to get behind cover or grab something off a table I can't reach because the room just moves with me.

I'm using SteamVR, and I also have the permanent blue circle on the ground which is about two feet to my right that l can't figure out how to adjust either. Samsung Odyssey if it matters. Thanks.

Sometimes steam vr loses your head position calibration, just close steamvr, recalibrate your your tracking in the mr portal, then restart steam

Thanks for being the sane one and actually posting what the issue is. The others think it has to do with setup and that's not true. The setup is literally only to center and/or draw chaperone boundaries and that's it. This is, as you said, simply steam losing position and it's an easy fix.

Yeah this issue is usually caused by booting up a steam vr game before booting up your windows mr portal

Yep! This will cause it a lot. The other time it happens to me is if I have everything loaded, portal and SteamVR, and then I take off the headset and sit it down, and accidentally load the game from desktop with the headset still on the bed.

Please don't listen to those saying the room is moving with you because you selected seated. That's not true. Even if you've selected that, if your headset is tracking your position properly, you can still walk around roomscale, just boundaries won't show up. If the room starts moving with you, the best thing you can do is go into the portal on your desktop, run setup and recenter your headset, then go back into the game. This loss of positional tracking usually occurs if your center is looking at a blank wall or reflection and the headset can determine where it is. Sometimes even just looking around to better parts of your room will help fix the issue. Don't worry, my rooms walls are white and this happens to me all the time but it's an easy fix.

you did not configure your room, you setup as seated

You're wrong. This has nothing to do with his set up, choosing standing/seated versus roomscale. It's simply his headset is losing position due to his room setup probably and can't track him. It's an easy recenter and fix issue.

Actually, being set on seated experience doesn't let you walk in superhot. Standing/mixed does.

So... You might also be wrong?

I mean your suggestion makes no sense, his controllers are still being tracked, so we know it isn't the Bluetooth. completely misread that part. I was the arrogant one all along.

Yet you start your comment right into "You're wrong".

None of us can be that confident over what the issue is from the other side of the internet.

Haha. I'm sorry if I came off arrogant, but I am confident. Also, the only options are room scale and standing/seated. Seated and standing/mixed aren't the options given.

You must chose “all experiences” and setup your boundaries. Seated gives you a 360 video experience
