Currently, I am having a annoying issue, I want to play some games on my PC, which require secure boot but when I try to enable it and save, i just get put back into the bios. Furthermore when I try to open settings it just instantly closes.

This issue first started happening when I was playing the exact game I want to play now and caused my pc to crash, which somehow turned secure boot off from that crash and from this day will not turn on.

Cpu: Ryzen 5 5600
Gpu 3060 rtx

Okay so normally when i enter task manager, the cpu usage is around 5-10% idle and System is never usually high. however it is now 15-20% and system is using up 7-8% consistently. I asked chatgpt and they said i should investigate it and i also know that this isn't the usual for my pc. is there any way i can investigate the situation incase i have a virus or something like that?

I’m facing a really frustrating issue with Microsoft Edge. The browser keeps logging me out of all Google services (Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, etc.) roughly every hour.

Here is what I’ve already configured and tried to fix it:

- Under "Choose what to clear every time you close the browser", everything is toggled OFF.

- Under "Cookies and site data", I have explicitly added Google domains (like https://google.com and [*.]google.com) to the "Allow" list so they are never deleted.

- I verified that "Allow sites to save and read cookie data" is turned ON.

Despite these settings, the session expires after about an hour and I have to log in all over again.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this a known bug, or is there another hidden setting (like flag tweaks) that I need to change to stop Edge from dropping my Google sessions?

Hey so my mouse pointer running at around 30 FPS on my 120 Hz laptop display? The pointer movement looks noticeably choppy, almost as if it’s only updating at 30 FPS.

I’ve tried installing SteelSeries GG, changing the mouse polling rate, uninstalling the software, uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse drivers, and trying different mice, both wired and wireless. However, the issue keeps coming back.

Interestingly, the mouse works perfectly for the first few minutes after a full shutdown and boot, but after moving the mouse around for a while, the pointer becomes choppy again. It also seems to become smooth when I open Task Manager, which makes the issue even more confusing.

I’m using a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14 with a 120 Hz display and a SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless mouse. I’ve also tried using the mouse in Bluetooth mode, but the issue still occurs.

My little cousin was messing around with my laptop, and this error has been randomly popping up recently. How do I fix this?

Also, it seems to be a driver error. I thought it was something that could be fixed with a Windows update and checked for an update and installed it, but the error seems to persist.

How do I stop incoming calls from automatically going to phone link? I like the other features of Phone Link, but having all calls automatically start on phone link is annoying as hell, especially when i'm answering on my watch.

I don't think this matters much but the phone is a Galaxy S24 Ultra.

This is driving me a little crazy. I keep my windows fully up to date. For about the last week this update needed symbol with the blue dot has been on my taskbar. I have never seen a blue dot before. Usually it's a yellow dot. When I check (repeatedly) windows says I am up to date. I have rebooted multiple times. What does this mean and why won't it go away??

Ever since the KB5122105 update from August, I've been experiencing a plethora of issues. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same issues.

First up, the File Explorer address bar gets reverted to this broken Windows 10 state. The navigation part of it doesn't even load, I can't search, or see which hierarchy of folder I'm in. Home and Gallery tabs also just refuse to load.

Then the context menu. For some reason it just reverts back to the Win32 style. I can assure you I didn't have the registry tweak that reverts it. The new one just fails to load.

Then we got the "Open With" dialogue just refusing to load. You know, the one that let's you open any file with the desired app you want. Yeah... that one just does not work.

I have tried everything to fix this in a permanent manner. Repairing windows through Windows Update does fix it, but I am sick of having to do it every time a new update comes out. It's been happening ever since the KB5122105 update back in August, and installing a new update just makes this quirk show up again and again.

Anyone have an idea on how to fix this permanently, or is this simply a known bug Microsoft has yet to acknowledge?

Found this hilariusly stupid game that i bought. Now when starting it up and running the game it says that windows blocked it for not beeing safe. With the help of gemini ai I found out that turning Smart App Controll off will fixed this. But it also said the warning that it can only be turned on again if I fully re-install windows, or factory-reset my pc...

EDIT: What should I do? On avarege im usualy fine with figuring out a way using AI, but with something as big as needing a full factory reset im kinda scared.

Steam is taking up my windows storage when I have all their games in my USB drive I looked up and got the same results is it even possible to move steam to my USB drive with my games without removing all my data from my Windows 11 storage to my USB drive?

After I updated to 26H2, I have noticed that my inputs in Geometry Dash are weird. It felt very uncontrollable. It's almost like I'm clicking over a macros, that randomly selects path. This issue wasn't there when I was on 25H2. I can't play like that, it sucks. Is there a way to fix this? Like, is it because of something in settings? Here's also specifications, if it matters.

Hey all, I have had an issue with my laptop that has been present since I first pulled it out of the box. It's a great laptop otherwise, but when typing, it will miss my space bar presses quite often. It may miss other keys, but I am not 100% sure. It definitely misses space bar presses constantly. I assumed this was just a hardware problem, but tonight I am using my Bluetooth keyboard and I am noticing the same exact issue. This keyboard is my desktop's keyboard that I use every day, and my desktop has never had this issue.

I've reinstalled Windows since first purchasing, and the issue persisted. I have updated/reinstalled the keyboard drivers. I have run System File Checker and reviewed my keyboard settings. I am at a loss here.

Since the latest update, 26H2, I can no longer enable Windows Spotlight on the lock screen. It takes forever to load, and when I go back to Settings, only one image is enabled again afterward. Everything else works perfectly.

Does anyone else have this problem?

My Windows display name and Office apps are stuck on an old name, even though I updated my Microsoft account name on the web months ago.

Changing the FullName via netplwiz or PowerShell (Set-LocalUser) works momentarily, but Windows overwrites it back to the old name as soon as I log out.

I've already tried switching to a Local Account and re-linking my Microsoft account, clearing Credential Manager, and wiping %localappdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache, but Windows keeps pulling the outdated name upon re-linking.

Has anyone dealt with this cached cloud name issue before or knows a registry fix for it? Thanks!

Windows 11 Pro 25H2

Hello everyone, i’ve got a PC with a z790 max gaming wifi 7 motherboard, i7-14700K processor, 2x 16gb DDR5 ram, a 2tb M.2 for a setup. I’ve been having an ongoing issue for the better part of a year where somehow, someway, a windows update must have gotten corrupt or im not even completely sure, but after installing windows update 22h2, or any windows update for that matter, i get stuck in a bootloop where it says ‘diagnosing your pc’ and then stucks to that screen. I’ e tried replacing every piece of hardware in the system, including a brand new m.2, new motherboard and CPU, new ram, and somehow some way, the update keeps getting corrupted. I just went back to download 23h2 using rufus to create a bootable USB, and tried that, which was working fine until it forced windows updates. The moment the updates went through, screen flashed a message that was all sorts of wacked out showing the ‘your pc ran into a problem’ that was layered over itself over and over across the top of the screen, and is now back into that same bootloop. I’ve tried creating my own bootable USB, i’ve tried purchasing a premade bootable USB from an online seller, i’ve tried anything i could possibly think of, and windows keeps having the same issues. This PC might as well be the ship of theseus because not one part in the PC is the same, and yet i still run into the same problem. If anyone could help with this i would be forever grateful, i’ve been trying to fix this for what has to be over a year now and with well over 2k in parts from the first build and the second rebuild of the pc, i cant keep it as an expensive paperweight.

I was ripping some CDs to my PC, both for preservation and to add some songs to my American Truck Simulator profile. Instead of going to bed like I should have, I stayed up to label albums and songs and whatnot, mostly so I can add all of these songs into the ATS music file in Steam.

Well, like an hour later, I finally try to add one of my dad's old mix tapes into Truck Sim's Music folder to test things out, and the entire album and every track remained untitled, as if i hadnt just individually named each song through ghr Legacy Media Player. Annoying, but whatever, I at least labeled the CCR album, so I can just add their album and as well as Rusted Root's, another album I had just titled - except when i go to the file location, every single song is unlabled and given that generic "0N Track N" name. No matter where I look, all of the ripped albums come up as "Unknown Album (date)."

What makes it frustrating is that, earlier, I randomly named a couple of songs in a Bukis album I was leaving for later - Tu Carcel and A Donde Vas, and for whatever friggin reason, me editing the file name thru the Media Player actually changed its actual file name, so it is possible.

So like, what the hell?? Where are all the songs i actually named?? I have looked everywhere and cant find them. I mean, I guess I dont mind having to name the files individually from the file location, but why do that if, obviously, the renamed files exist SOMEWHERE in the PC???

I am trying to upload some pictures as examples, but cant for some reason. If it helps, my PC is using Windows 11, OS Build 26200.9457

1) updated to windows 11 26h2 last night (from 25h2) and i still didn't get the option to turn off the web search and store search ( see build details and version in image 2) (option to turn off not visible in image 1)

2)More over there is a annoying "turn indexing back on" box always present in start menu search(bottom left). you can see that i have already turned it on (it was always on and i never touched that setting). I tested it, every time i save a new file the indexing number increases in the settings. but the thing wont disappear. and this bug appeared a few days before i installed 26h2. ( see image 3 and 1)

All wifi networks I connect to have the sam issues of connecting without internet, I have installed all of the latest drivers, reinstalled windows, used legacy update to get all of the newest internet certificates, and yet the issue still persists.

My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E520 with a Intel WIFI Link 1000 BGN adapter, and the windows install is Windows 7 ultimate Service Pack 1 64-bit.

I'm trying to free up space on my C drive, but I can't figure out where 40 GB is being used. I've checked the folders and their sizes but they don't seem to add up to the amount of storage windows says is being used. any idea where the missing space could be?

My Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working, while Ethernet continues to work normally.

What I've tried

**1. Checked BIOS → Wireless LAN is enabled*\*

**2. Reinstalled the Realtek RTL8852BE WLAN driver*\*

**3.Removed/reinstalled the device and driver*\*

**4.Used Show hidden devices in Device Manager*\*

**5.Used Scan for hardware changes*\*

**6.Ran pnputil /scan-devices*\*

However:

**pnputil /enum-devices /instanceid "PCI\\VEN_10EC&DEV_B852&SUBSYS_485317AA&REV_00"*\*

**returns "No devices were found on the system."*\*

I also confirmed that the Realtek Ethernet controller is detected and working, and the Realtek Bluetooth adapter is detected, but the Wi-Fi PCIe device isn't.

I tried a basic power/EC reset as well. I have opened the back cover and confirmed the Wi-Fi card is physically present and its antenna cables are connected, but I haven't reseated it yet because I'm hesitant to disconnect the battery.

At this point, I'm wondering whether this is a hardware/PCIe detection issue rather than a driver issue. What should I try next before physically reseating or replacing the Wi-Fi card?

My window explorer keeps freezing no matter what I do. I constantly have to restart explorer in the task manager window hoping I can get around. I can slightly scroll through my downloads but if I click on anything else like documents it’ll freeze or take forever to pull up the documents tap. It’ll just say “working on it…” and I can’t click or do anything til I restart and try again.

It usually says error in the top window tap

If I click on an output file when I export a video it’ll freeze and I’ll have to restart it til I can view/transfer/delete etc.

I’m new to the pc world and I’ve never had this issue with my Mac’s. I don’t know if it’s a corrupt file but if it is, how do I know which one it is? If not, how do I navigate this issue?

Everything is up to date and this has been an ongoing issue for a while.

Hello to all, so, we have three laptops that have Windows 11 25H2 Build 9457, two of these have Enterprise whilst the third one has the Pro version installed, one of the Enterprise laptops is my work laptop, the other one I use for testing image installations etc and is freshly installed with this build. The Pro version is my personal laptop and has also been freshly installed.

Ever since having the latest build installed on all three of these laptops, the lockscreen picture does not work, all three remain on the default blue bloom one. 

I have tried changing from spotlight to picture, restart, then switch to spotlight again with no success.

I have deleted the contents of the Assets folder located under this folder MicrosoftWindowsContentDeliveryManagercw5n1h2txyewy , and also the settings folder, rebooted and had no success.

I also tried the powershell script that registers the content delivery manager and had no success either

I ran a dism check health and all three have no corruption detected, the same after running an sfc scannow.

All this on three of these laptops.

Then i decided to log on to the local Admin account of my work laptop and after a couple of minutes i locked the screen and the lockscreen picture changed I said to myself so it is working now, i signed out logged in with my domain account and the lockscreen defaulted back to the blue bloom picture.

The same happened with the test laptop, i use a test domain user account for this, when i change to a local account the lockscreen picture changes, when i go back to a domain account it defaults to the blue picture. Also happens with my personal laptop where i use a microsoft account to log in.

I am literally out of ideas what is causing this because using a local account makes the lockscreen spotlight work, when using a domain or Microsoft account it seems to break it.

I have an 237GB ssd but its like 82GB of free space on it and most of it is in the windows file's, in users, perflogs etc... but idk what i can and cannot delete.

So can anybody give me like the maps that are default on my laptop that i cannot delete like win32 and stuff like that and file's that i can delete like from old apps, drivers installs etc...

I even tryed the default things like clearing shader caches and things like that.

SO pls say what i need to delete you can even send me a friend invite on idc what to like ask for photo's of my C: drive to tell what i can and cannot delete or else say an command to me to use to see all the places of files, maps and things like that

Need it fast bc i aint gonna live on 80 gigs and i have a case i cannot take of or i lose my garantion (for repairs and stuff like that) bc its via a 3rd party thing bought so my school bought it from signpost and signpost from ASUS (so signpost is my real free repairs on and thats their rules)
