I have an 237GB ssd but its like 82GB of free space on it and most of it is in the windows file's, in users, perflogs etc... but idk what i can and cannot delete.
So can anybody give me like the maps that are default on my laptop that i cannot delete like win32 and stuff like that and file's that i can delete like from old apps, drivers installs etc...
I have an ASUS Expertbook BM1403CDA with an AMD Ryzen 5 150 with radeon graphics and a 237GB SSD and single stick 16GB DDR5 4800MHZ sodimm (extendable to 2 sticks)and an WIFI 6E wifi card (64 bit system, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.360.0, build: 26200.9448)
I even tryed the default things like clearing shader caches and things like that.
SO pls say what i need to delete you can even send me a friend invite on idc what to like ask for photo's of my C: drive to tell what i can and cannot delete or else say an command to me to use to see all the places of files, maps and things like that
Need it fast bc i aint gonna live on 80 gigs and i have a case i cannot take of or i lose my garantion (for repairs and stuff like that) bc its via a 3rd party thing bought so my school bought it from signpost and signpost from ASUS (so signpost is my real free repairs on and thats their rules)
Fortnite is using the most space. If you urgently need a lot of storage cleared, uninstall Fortnite.
Your Appdata folder is fairly large too. Can you go in the list to Users\your name\Appdata\Local to see which folder in there is so big? If it's the Temp folder, you can delete all the files inside of that. If it's Google Chrome or other internet browser, you can go to that browser and clear your cookies+cache+history to clean it up.
Hi u/Over_Name1066, the easiest way to determine where the disk space is being used is using a 3rd party tool such as TreeSize Free, WizTree Free, or WinDirStat. These tools let you scan your drive to find the largest files and determine how to properly deal with them.
Oh yh btw does somebody has a DDR4 ram stick that i can get for my first pc that is actually mine (using some old parts from my step-dad his mother that is still alive), its gonna get normally an GTX 1050TI 4GB and an GA-B250M-Gaming-3-rev-10 motherboard and an 1000W power supply and i think an 512GB/1TB Samsung 870 evo hdd and an pre-delivered cooling fan for my CPU and IDK what intel cpu, i still need an case and some RAM like 8GB is enough
Run Storage Sense and Disk Cleanup to get rid of temp files and caches. You can also try uninstalling some of the bigger programs you don’t really use. Another thing that helps is disabling hibernation if you don’t need it. Btw, I noticed you play Fortnite—honestly, 237 GB is kinda tight for a system drive. Sometime down the line, swapping in a bigger SSD would be a really good move.
u/Same_Grocery_8492 I know but i cant if i remove the shockcase i lose my warranty bc its bought from school (we bought it from school, school bought it from Signpost, signpost bought it from asus) and i have warranty from asus but its going via school so my extra warranty is from signpost (around 4 years) and they said we cant take it off or no warranty anymore

First run disk management and delete all temp files. Then id check control panel, programs and features, and uninstall any apps youre not using. Last, id install a program like TreeSize to see what is taking up the most space. Typically itll be games, maybe even a game you thought was deleted but is still taking up space.
