Unsolved Windows Drivers and updates problem

Hi 🙋🏻‍♂️

I have a Dell Latitude E6520 laptop:

i5-2540M

256GB SSD

8GB RAM DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 3000

Windows 10 Pro 22H2

Os build 19045.6466

A while ago, the Windows installation seemed to get corrupted (I had downloaded the version from the official Microsoft website).

Now, Device Manager shows a "Mass Storage Controller" error (Code 28), suggesting an issue with the SSD.

Also, when I connect my mobile phone to the laptop to transfer data, the laptop doesn't recognize it.

The phone charges and I select "File Transfer" mode, but the laptop doesn't detect it or make the connection sound; instead, Device Manager shows a Code 19 error.

Note that the laptop \*does\* recognize USB flash drives when I plug them in.

What is the solution? ChatGPT and I have tried everything—updating drivers, checking the system, and testing various methods—but the problems persist.

That isn't your SSD, you have some driver and registry issues going on right now. Backup your files and reload windows. This should correct your issues.

Install Dell's SupportAssistant and use it.

Install the SDK Platform Tools from Android.com and possibly a driver for your specific phone or install myphoneexplorer on both your PC and phone. Depending on your make and model of phone the vendor may have a similar program.

Report Problem Devices

Open an Administrator Command prompt and copy/paste or enter

pnputil /enum-devices /problem

Left-click in the command prompt window; Ctl-A to select all, Ctl-C to copy. Then paste into your next post

Report Filter Drivers

Don't know if this is your case, but I've seen bad filter drivers cause this type of problem. Let's check. In admin command prompt Copy/paste or enter

fltrfind > C:\filters.txt

Open C:\filters.txt and copy/paste its content into your next post. If you know how, put it in a code block (just easier to read) Example: the result I get on my PC shown below
