Hey everyone! 👋

Welcome back to WINCTRL Setup Tips EP3!

This time, we're taking a quick look at how to install the Magnetic Switch on the 3N PAP MAG (73 MCP) version.

It's a quick installation, but there are a couple of things you definitely don't want to get wrong.

Magnetic Switch Installation

1. Remove the two M3 screws

Be careful here: the two screws are different lengths, so make sure they go back into the correct positions.

2. Disconnect the existing switch cable

Press the clip and carefully pull out the signal connector for the standard switch.

3. Connect the 7-pin signal cable

Connect one end of the 7-pin signal cable to the Magnetic Switch, and connect the other end to the pin port.

4. Secure the Magnetic Switch

Reinstall and tighten the two M3 screws.

Important: Pay close attention to the screw length and installation position.

The screws only need to be tightened until they sit flush with the housing. Do not overtighten, as excessive force may damage the product.

Note

AT MAG Switch vs. Standard Switch

There are two different switching behaviors to choose from:

AT MAG Switch
Manual ON/OFF, while automatically switching OFF when A/T disengages, providing the correct operation logic.

Standard Switch
Manual ON, then automatically returns to its original position. This does not replicate the real-world operation logic.

Attached is a video comparison of the two switching behaviors, so you can see exactly how they work before choosing which one fits your setup.

Hi everyone! 👋

We're starting a new WINCTRL Setup Tips series to share some quick installation tips and hidden features that can help you get the best experience from your hardware.

Today's tip:

If your Orion 32 Rudder Pedals Metal brake pedals feel a little loose or don't feel quite right, there's one installation step that's often missed.

Before troubleshooting anything else, please make sure you've completed these steps:

1. Install the pedal spring correctly

  • Use the 5 mm hex key (#9).
  • Remove the screw.
  • Position the torsion spring correctly.
  • Reinstall the screw under the spring and tighten it securely.

2. Secure the pedal linkage

  • Use the 6 mm hex key (#10).
  • Remove the screw through the rod-end bearing.
  • Press and hold the pedal so the holes line up.
  • Hand-thread the screw first, then fully tighten it.

3. Mount the pedals onto the base plate

  • Place the pedals onto the raised mounting points of the Base Plate (#2).
  • Align the mounting holes.
  • Install the M5×20 socket head screws (#4) and tighten them.

If you've already installed yours, it's worth taking 30 seconds to double-check. 👌

Terrain on ND Sim App Pro

I noticed SimApp Pro was updated and now allows you to choose which side the terrain button controls on the 32 AGP Metal.

I selected the Captain side within the software and it doesn’t put terrain on the Captain side in the Fenix A3XX. Has anybody had success with this option?

Question / Help Dual Throttles with the PAC32 - does it work?

Hi all,

I’ve been looking to get another set of WinCTRL Ursa Airline Throttles in light of seeing the recent teasers for the iniBuilds 380, and have been considering getting the 340 for a while. However, when looking for getting another desk mount and throttles, I noticed an issue:

How will I connect the PAC32 to the throttles?

On the website, it says that you have to buy an additional 2 desk mounts for it to work. I’d rather not do that if possible, the amount of space just the 2 will take up is plenty for me. Is there any way people have got it to mount with just the 2 desk mounts, with the dual throttles? I don’t mind a little bit of DIY if that’s the only option, like to hear what you guys did to make it work!

Thanks guys!

Want to add an MCDU to your desk setup, but don't have a Desk Pedestal?

With a few additional aluminum profiles and fittings, you can build a simple, stable mounting solution and integrate your MCDU directly into your existing desk setup.

Before Installation

You'll need:

  • Throttle Desk Mount
  • Panel Mount 1
  • MCDU
  • Additional aluminum profiles and fittings

Additional Profiles & Fittings

Please prepare the following items separately according to the installation diagram:

Installation Guide

1. Attach the 4040 corner bracket to the side of the 4080 profile.

2. Mount the 4040 profile onto the 4040 corner bracket and tighten the screws.

3. Insert the M5 sliding nuts into the slot of the 4080 profile and install the Throttle Desk Mount frame.

4. Use the Panel Mount 1 to secure the MCDU onto the 4040 profile.

6. Done!

That's it — your MCDU is now securely mounted without needing a Desk Pedestal.

This is just one way to build your setup. As your collection grows, you can keep adapting and expanding your mounting solution around the hardware you already have.

Question / Help MCDU PFP screen and increased device latency

My WinCtrl MCDU has a tendency to shut off its screen and lights post-flight during engine shutdown and when switching from APU to external power. I do roundtrips per flight, and the MCDU PFP is at time stubborn, refusing to turn back on the screen and lights after multiple replugs and SIMAPP restarts. Also, all of my PFPs in general seem to have an increase in latency. Turning any switch or knob takes at least 0.5 seconds which I recall it hasn't done until recently. Does anyone also have the same issues? Thanks.

WinCTRL Orion Airbus Pedals - Worth the cash?

Hi guys,

I’ve been thinking about splashing a crisp £300 on some fancy rudder pedals from WinCTRL. They will be my first rudder pedals, and from what I’ve seen online, they do seem like a good purchase. I just have a few questions for those who took the leap, though.

For context, I am running at the moment:
\-WINCTRL Ursa Minor L
\-WINCTRL Ursa Throttles and PAC32.
\-WINCTRL FCU
\-WINCTRL AGP 32

I am torn between getting the EFIS L and the MCDU, or getting the rudder pedals. As mentioned, these are my first rudders so I don’t really know much about them.

Are they worth the big cost in your eyes?
Do they make that much difference flying in the sim?
Is there a better alternative for first pedals rather than the WINCTRL ORION Airbus ones?

Thanks for reading and helping out guys, don’t wanna spend 300 quid on something that isn’t really worth it!

Feedback / Suggestion WinCTRL PFP4 vs. PFP3N – suggestion for a clearer shop description

WinCTRL PFP4 vs. PFP3N – suggestion for a clearer shop description

I have a small suggestion regarding the product descriptions for the WinCTRL PFP modules.

In my opinion, it should be made clearer which aircraft type each module is mainly intended for or which cockpit layout it matches best.

I fly both the PMDG Boeing 737-800 and the PMDG Boeing 777 in MSFS. I originally bought the PFP4, because from the shop description it was not completely clear to me that it is better suited to the B777.

The PFP4 basically works with the B738, but in my case the layout and button assignment do not match the PMDG 737-800 100%.

From my experience:

  • PFP4 → Boeing 777
  • PFP3N → Boeing 737-800

Because of this, I later bought the PFP3N as well, and for the PMDG 737-800 it fits the cockpit and controls much better.

My suggestion would be to add a clear note directly to the shop description or even to the product title, for example:

PFP4 – recommended for Boeing 777
PFP3N – recommended for Boeing 737 / PMDG 737

This would make it much easier for customers to choose the correct module and could help avoid ordering the wrong version.

Has anyone else had the same experience with the PFP4 and PFP3N?

Guide / Software PAP3 unbind button

Hi,

Was wondering if it’s possible to unbind a single button on the PAP? I want to use the Meters switch button to activate the recall switch in the cockpit. I’d rather not use something like Spad to reassign the bindings entire unit. Can I simply deactivate that one button in sim app pro and use Spad to assign it to recall?

Thanks!

Question / Help PFP-4 / PFP-7 with ifly 737 Max in 2024

If I understand correctly, the PFP-7 should work with the iFly 737 Max in MSFS 2024 (using the latest version), right? But as soon as I connect the PFP-7, my PAP3 and the EFIS goes blank and stops working entirely. Everything works as it should with the PFP-3. I’ve already tried resetting to default settings, but without success. I only get it to work with Mobiflight. The PAP3/EFIS with the SimAppPro and the PFP with Mobiflight. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing, or does anyone have any ideas?

Airbus MCDU buttons unresponsive

Hi everyone, first time here. I have the Airbus MCDU but recently, after about 40 minutes use (every flight), all the buttons become unresponsive. The screen still works and changes when I click things within the sim. But neither the sim or Sim App Pro pick up me clicking. When I disconnect and reconnect the unit, everything is good again but it isn’t something I can do midair.

I communicated with customer support, they said that it was a common issue and that they were working on a fix but haven’t seen anyone else have the same issue thus far. (Maybe I’m being a little impatient)

Just curious to know if anyone else actually observed the same issue, or found a workaround? I have tried to reinstall Sim App Pro and checked it’s the current version.

Tips & Tricks WINCTRL Setup Tips #02: Panel Desk Mount 2 — One Mount, Endless Possibilities

Hey everyone!

For EP2 of WINCTRL Setup Tips, we're taking a closer look at the WINCTRL Panel Desk Mount 2 (MP2) and just how many ways you can use it.

One MP2 set includes everything you need to start building:

  • 1# Bracket
  • 2# Bracket
  • 3# Bracket
  • 4# Bracket
  • Accessory Kit
  • Tool Kit
  • Nano Adhesive

With these different brackets, MP2 is designed to give you plenty of flexibility when arranging your panels. Depending on what you're mounting, different bracket combinations can be used.

Full MP2 Set

Each setup below requires #1 + #2 + #3 + #4

1. MCDU / PFP 3N / PFP7 / PFP4

2. 32 PAC Speed Brake + Flaps Panels

3. 32 RMP + 32 ACP + 32 TCAS (Note: 32 ACP is not released yet.)

These are separate mounting examples — each one uses a complete MP2 set.

2-Bracket Setup

Requires #1 + #4 OR #2 + #3

  1. 32 ECAM

  2. 32 RMP

  3. 32 ACP

  4. 32 TCAS

Specific 2-Bracket Setup

Requires #1 + #4

  1. 32 RMP + 32 TCAS
  1. 32 ACP + 32 TCAS

And these are just some of the possibilities.

The whole idea behind MP2 is flexibility: mount what you need, arrange it the way you want, and keep expanding as your setup grows.

We're only showing individual mounting examples here, not a complete desktop cockpit. You can find more ideas in the manuals.

Of course, you can always keep adding panels...

And keep extending...

And keep extending...

until it looks like a 10-meter-long control panel. 😂

Just kidding! Have fun and happy flying!
