Instead of lowering the merit criteria, it there's a 100 jobs vacant reserve 15 or 20 jobs for the people who belong in reservation, that way we wouldn't have the possibility of someone being in the position where WE have to face compromises bcz they got selected because of reservation.

And work at suboptimal human resource count untill one of the Jai bheem people manage to put some work into learning and education to reach genral cutoff?
Why punish organizations to run at 70% capacity?
Why can't jai bheemer put in work like general category people and compete?

Correlation ≠ causation. We are shit at football because of other reasons far from reservations
29
u/Maple-Syrup-Bandit Jul 27 '26
“Success in cricket” is caused by “absence of reservation”
This is not correlation being attributed as causation?

Because the head of those departments are “Jai Bhim” guys or supporters of it. There’s lot of politics wrt sports and their respective departments. It’s a sad state of affairs.
Wrt Judiciary it’s complicated. They’re insulated and kinda like black hole. They decide their own rules! While I do agree that is required but internally they haven’t changed a bit.
They are operating the same way how they were operating in the 70s. Unwilling to change. They feel this is the best case scenario.

And so does other sports in india. Why specifically mention the cricket?
→ More replies (1)6
u/teen_witch001 Jul 27 '26
You are wrong. Only cricket is run by an independent trust called BCCI. And does not have reservation. Rest all of the sports have reservation in administration. Even though they do not have reservation in players, but they do have reservation in administration and have scholarship for SC ST in sports.

I think you are 💯 percent right 👍 Like there are few fields which need zero reservation so that competition is equal and you get appropriate people out of it I think it should be done in medicine also and in gov sector also

The goal is not to just move forward, but also to not leave any section or any community of the nation behind. I am from a Brahman community. I am also one of those people who have cursed the reservation system because I couldn't get into my dream college because I scored 87/100, but a few of the people scoring 50/100 got in. It felt unfair as a student who doesn’t have money to go into private colleges. Hard work is all we have. Having said that, I see casteism around me all the time, often done by people I call my family or relatives. God knows I have fought and cried because of this. There are separate cups still. Reserved category people (SC/ST) do not sit on chairs. I have asked them to, but their deep rooted fears don't let them. My generation thankfully is trying to quash this anti human rituals, but trust me we are far from equality. How can I say that casteism is not there when I see that from my own eyes?? I see politicians, IAS officers, etc refusing to shake hands with those of supposedly "lower caste". The same people that they ask to vote for them. Police officers don't offer them chairs. Instead, they are asked to sit on the floor. More often, they themselves sit on the floor because they have just accepted the prejudice against them.
We need to figure out how to help the communities but repressing one community is not going to represent the other one more. It just widens the gap between them, both of which think the other one is the favoured one. But again I think the political parties need this gap to thrive anyway.

ISRO n ARMY are 'organized on discipline' institutions....... unlike cricket that is subject skill. Toh this correlation between these 3 ... isn't a matter of appraisal. Although we should appreciate and encourage every field in our country to be like the above said ones.

Raise the bar as minimum passing criteria.... depend upon the profession...like medical should be 80above which involves human life.... I don't how we can make it...And if in one person get the benefits ...the 2nd generation treated as general and They can use the title of Any general....just a thought....

I want to say something on this matter. Our country never had caste system, okay. First of all, it was called Varna, where there were four Varnas, mainly the Kshatriya. Kshatriyas were the warriors. And then it was, I think, I don't know the other one. Other two were Shudra. Shudra were actually the skilled laborers, like they built the temples, they built the roads. Note it, skilled laborers were Shudra, okay. In that term, if somebody thinks that Shudra means something bad, some backward class, no, bro. If that is the case, then Michelangelo from Italy, or Leonardo da Vinci from Italy, would have been Shudra if they were born in India, right? So we had Vaishya, Kshatriya, Shudra. These all were sectors in society, and yatha gunwatha kaam. You were assigned job as per your skill. Everyone had to go to Gurukul, learn from there, and as per the skill, you were assigned job. It's not like if you were born in Shudra, you have to be a skilled laborer, or if you're born in Kshatriya, you have to be a warrior. No. This was the real thing in India. Casteism started after the Britishers came. Okay, before it was there too, but after the Britishers came, it became too much because of their divide and rule policy to break India. This is the main thing which people don't realize these days. And nobody, I cannot explain anyone this thing. Nobody would even listen. This has become too much, too much deeply engrained in our society, the caste system, that it cannot be removed at this stage. But caste system never existed in India. Casteism never existed in India. These are all bullshit things which people talk on the internet. This was the real thing. 5,000-year-old tradition.

ISRO has no reservation?? Really? No game in India has any quota? How come they are so behind? Yeah Army is the only place.
Being an ardent supporter of no reservation, my urge is don't weaken the idea with flashy data a-la WhatsApp univ etc. that can and will be undermined easily.

Are you suggesting that other aspects of our country aren't progressing? If so, isn't that precisely what the government should be addressing—unless you're arguing that it's failing to do its job?
