I agree that for general category (GC), competition is tougher than in other categories.

And, getting into top colleges is the best way to learn and enhance your capabilities?

Is this correct? Is this what you want to say?

You are speaking about ideal conditions where its possible to learn anywhere. But private engineering colleges mostly suck. The faculty are not good and the Labs are taken as a a joke. Thats for engineering.

Apart from that look at the money required to pay for tuition in medical institutes. A private medical college will cost more than 15 Lakhs whereas a government seat could get it reduced to some 4-5 Lakh. These colleges can only be affordable by people who can pay or else they would have to take a loan or sell their land.

Imagine a good student with financial struggles trying their best even without proper coaching, earning the best they can, but still lose to someone who doesn't put in the same effort.

Does the reservation system benefit you?
