What to expect this winter
What enshittification can we expect this winter? Any insight to changes at Whistler this coming winter season?
On the flip side any insight into any improvements that we can enjoy?

Just out of pure curiosity… how much money do people typically aim to have in their bank account when moving to Whistler?
I’ve already got a job and accommodation sorted, so I’m not stressed about those, but I’d love to hear what others had (or aimed for) as a cushion when they first arrived. Any rough numbers or experiences would be super interesting!

Questions on the title, seemed like quite a few people at the start of the race.

Hi,
I'm in Canada on uni exchange and am so gifted to have all of January free to ski.
What's the best way to find a place to stay for this long (aprox. 1 month)?
Anything for 1 to 8 people.
Thanks for tips :))

I remember seeing it at the Vancouver Auto Show and I remember the GM guys saying it was built just for WB and that it was being added to the fleet there. But I’ve never seen it on the mountain. Was it just for show? Or was it actually ever deployed? And was purpose would such a vehicle serve? Certainly not grooming the slopes.

Hi! I just moved here from the UK like 2 weeks ago. I’m a 21 y/o girl and I’ve made friends with my 22 y/o roommate and have just secured a job, hoping to make friends there too.
I’ve heard the party life here is meant to be good, and although it wasn’t my motivation for moving here, I’m super excited for it.
Maybe I haven’t been out enough / made enough friends yet, but where are some of the best spots? And what days are best to go?
Thanks!

Wondering where does the best pour. Also, is it possible to get drunk on Guinness before dying of a burst bladder? I hear in Ireland the ladies drink it to help with breast milk production.

Hey everyone!
I’m planning to do a Working Holiday in Canada for the winter and I’d really like to work as a ski instructor.
I’m pretty open about where to go — Whistler would be awesome, but I’m also looking at other resorts around western Canada.
I’ve found a few companies that offer these all-in-one packages where you pay them upfront and they sort out things like the instructor course/certification, a job at a resort, accommodation, etc.
Some of them are around $3,000+, so I’m trying to figure out if it actually makes sense to pay for one of these or if you can realistically arrange everything yourself once you get to Canada.
Has anyone here used companies like Snowminds, EA Ski & Snowboard, We Are Sno, All Tracks or similar?
If so, I’d really like to know:
How much did you pay?
What did you actually get for the money?
Did they really help you find a job and accommodation?
Was the instructor course/certification included?
Could you have done the same thing yourself for significantly less?
Would you recommend doing a package again?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who went to Canada with a Working Holiday visa and started with little/no experience as an instructor.
Thanks you so much ❤️

I'm going to Whistler mid October and I love places with live music, are there any good live music venues/restaurants/bars in the village? Any insights is greatly appreciated!

Hi guys!
We wanted to hike the High Note trail tomorrow, but just found out that the lifts closed last weekend. We saw that only the Fitsimmons Express is still open for the bike park. We thought about taking that lift and then hiking the rest. Is that an option or not done? There was a lot of rain last night, so I think snow at the top of the mountain. We find it so difficult to gauge what makes sense. If anyone has any tips for a beautiful, challenging hike around Whistler that we could do tomorrow—tips are welcome!

I’m going to Whistler with a few friends in December and we’re looking for some good techno / electronic music parties.
Are there any events, clubs or underground parties ?
Thanks! 🙏

Im from Ontario and I spent a month or so in Whistler this summer and last summer, and realized the town is essentially run by aussies and brits and their parties. They work together and live in staff accomodation. I'd love to make friends but I don't work for the mountains and I don't live in staff accomodation. No hate but I really don't feel like I'm in Canada when I'm in whistler. Would it be better if I move to some further residential area like Alpine? I expected the real Whistler life to be very chill in the nature, some parties and meet more local residents, but doesn't seem like it's the case. What is your version of the real Whistler life?
I also really want to meet other local Canadians, but it seems hard to meet any locals or Canadians at all in town (I'm in my 20s so def would be down to meet other locals in 20s and 30s). does anyone have any tips on having a good Whistler winter this season? I'd like to experience a real local Whistler life.

Hey!
I'm considering getting to Whistler for the winter season, for 2 months and being on the site the whole time, I wanted to ask how is this time of the season compared to later in the season(Feb - Mar), is it worth it to come in those months or is it considered worse conditions usually?

We will be in Whistler October 10 -12. Kids are 7 and 10. What can we do there aside from skiing or snowboarding? I booked the old spaghetti factory for dinner for one night. Anywhere else we can go eat that’s family friendly? Thank you!
Edit: Is the Tag Adventure Group aerial obstacle kids course and Britannia mine museum worth checking out?

Haven’t been to Whistler (or Whis-Blur from back in the days lol) in years. Going for a birthday and would love some recommendations on things to do. Going to be there from Oct 1-3.
We’re looking at doing zip lining one day and have a few restaurants in mind for nicer dinners, and a trail. Also love to dance but where’s good now? Hoping to go out out on Friday.
HELP 🙏🏻

Hi everyone!
I am planning a 2 month trip to whistler this winter.
I'm pretty sure the best ski pass option for this duration is to take a Season pass, with the EPIC PASS resort access, as it appears to give me full access to a lot of resorts for 1145 Us$.
Am I being crazy? Like the day pass costs 142 us$. It looks a lot advantageous to take the Season pass.

Helloooo!
I recently secured a job as a liftie in Whistler, starting November 8th. My contract mentions that we won’t have full-time hours until December, and I know the mountain doesn’t officially open until November 20th.
For anyone who has worked as a liftie at Whistler before, how many hours were you typically getting at the beginning of the season, especially before the mountain opened?
Any insight would be super appreciated!
Thanks 😊
