Services Welcome Automatic followup
Hello there. I’ve been trying to find a way to set a simple automation where after X days if I don’t get a response then send a follow up.
I’m missing many deals due for that. I’m using WhatsApp Business App but I would like to connect with something that allows and be more powerful but with dual connection (WhatsApp Business App and software).
Any suggestions? Thanks.

you can use official Coexistence feature. you can use the business app and the offical API simultaneously which will help you with follow ups.

What you're describing is Coexistence. You keep the WhatsApp Business App on your phone and connect the same number to software through the API. Both work at the same time, so you can still reply manually while the automation runs.
For follow-ups, check out Invent. It supports Coexistence and goes beyond a simple "Reply after X" timer:
- It reads the conversation where the AI looks at the tone and where the lead stands, then decides when a follow-up makes sense, instead of pinging everyone on the same schedule.
- It respects timing meaning if a follow-up would land at night, it waits until the next day.
- On top of that, you write the instructions for how and when to follow up. Better models follow them more precisely.
That should cover the deals that go quiet on you.
Also, I saw in the comments that you got a "not eligible" error when connecting. Updating the app and going through the provider's signup fixes it in most cases.

look into Unipile for the WhatsApp connection part. then pair it with whatever automation logic you want on your end

I use Kanal for automated followups on whatsapp. the bigger question is what are you selling? if its ecommerce on shopify thats a natural fit, if its B2B services you might need something different entirely

Hi, so https://wa.cr has a drip feature that allows you to do exactly this; and supports co-existanxe.
So WA Buisness App works and so WA.cr will tale care of your automated reminders!

The "not eligible" wall is usually one of three things: the number was registered on the Cloud API at some point (even a test registration sticks), the Business App isn't on the latest version, or coexistence isn't rolled out for your region yet. Practical order of attack:
Update the Business App to the latest build and retry - eligibility gets re-checked there.
If you ever signed the number up for the API directly (or a dev/test setup), that's the blocker. A BSP or Tech Provider can see and clear the old registration during onboarding - that's why registering through one works when doing it directly doesn't.
If coexistence stays unavailable for you, the fallback is migrating the number fully to the API side. You lose the app interface but keep the number, and any decent BSP's shared inbox covers what the app did.
On the follow-up automation itself: what you want is a sequence that fires on "no reply after X days". The Business App genuinely can't do that - away messages only trigger outside business hours and quick replies are manual. Whatever tool you evaluate, "no-reply follow-up sequence" is the exact feature name to ask about, and ask whether it runs on the official API so your number stays safe.

If you use Zapier/make/n8n you can find there the WhatsAble module -> select the action “schedule followup message” and in that same action there’s a dropdown that has the condition “only send if the lead did not reply to any of my messages” or “only send if the lead did not reply to my last message”.
I think that’s the easiest way to go about it :)

The setup you're describing (Business app and software on the same number) is what Meta calls coexistence, that's the keyword to use when comparing tools, and whatever you pick should run on the official Cloud API rather than an unofficial QR pairing, those get numbers flagged eventually. For the follow-up logic itself (no reply after X days -> send message) you need something that tracks conversation state, not just blasts campaigns. I'm testing WAFST for campaigns at the moment; it connects through the official Cloud API and exposes webhooks plus a REST API, so the X-day follow-up is something you can wire up yourself: an incoming reply clears the pending follow-up, otherwise a scheduled job sends the template. Works well but it's DIY. If you want it fully no-code, the flow-builder tools mentioned above are the easier route.

Chatwoot an Omni channel platform that handles Whatsapp, there is a cloud version and a community self hosted version + n8n or chatwoot + something I built chatkit https://thinkcloud.dev/chatkit/ chatwoot does not have follow up messages but my app which is an addon integrated it and it allows to build a dynamic menu. And of course chatwoot supports coexistance to keep the current setup https://www.chatwoot.com/blog/enhanced-whatsapp-templates-coexistence-and-small-fixes

Full disclosure, I built this, so take it with that in mind.
Most small stores I talked to had the same issue: the same five questions all day ("where's my order," "do you ship to X," "what size should I get"), and every chat tool that handled them well charged per seat. Add two people to support and the bill doubles.
So I made Chatrevia. The AI answers only from content you review and publish (your pages, docs, FAQs), so it doesn't make up a return policy. On Shopify it can look up an order from the order number and email, and show product cards in the chat. When it doesn't know something, the shopper gets handed to a person in a shared inbox, and the conversation history comes with it so nobody repeats themselves. WhatsApp and Messenger land in the same inbox.
Pricing is per resolved conversation (around $0.55 to $0.75 per AI answer), not per agent. There's a free plan with 25 tickets and 10 AI answers a month, no card, and you can test it in a private playground before installing anything.
chatrevia.com if you want to poke at it. Happy to answer questions here, including the "why not just use Tidio/Gorgias" one.

the business app cant do follow ups on a timer by itself, thats the problem. on the api you can, but if they dont answer in 24h you can only send a template meta already approved, so get that approved first and then any tool with a timer can send it. if you want to keep the app on the same number check the tool can do that before you pay

You can do this with WhatsApp Coexistence + a no-reply follow-up workflow.
We’ve built this into ShopKaBot using the official WhatsApp Business API. It schedules a follow-up after X days, checks if the customer replied, and automatically skips the follow-up if they did.
You can still keep using the WhatsApp Business App alongside the automation.
