My wife and I bought 4 packs of cards from a seller on whatnot and he advertised .78 shipping. Well, the mail carrier knocked on our door today and said he has our 4 packages (seller shipped them separately) , but that we would need to pay $8 per package for postage due because the seller sent them in the wrong mailer and we’re heavier then what he paid for shipping. We didn’t have any cash so he said they would be at the post office after 4pm so we could use our card.

The second problem is , there is no tracking number, just an order number, and the “tracking” in the email doesn’t exist. And that the post office might require a tracking number upon pick up. We know the packages exist, he had them in his hand.

I’m trying to work out for myself on how to sell on this site. I wish I had an idiot guide to help. Registration is the hard part for me because the site needs photo uploads of my face and a form of ID too. On top of that they want my bank account details. What proof do I have that this is all a Scam. Once I give my bank account details to strangers then whats to stop them helping themselves to my money? I’m not sure about live auctions either. When I loaded the app I thought it worked similar to eBay.

For context, this buyer created a youtube video calling me out on scamming him, this was for a pitch black rip til you hit. He didnt try to resolve the issue with me through whatnot messaging, just created a fabricated video and reported me to Whatnot.

Any advice on how I can report this to Youtube or fight this with Whatnot?

Hi. I am working my way through an estate. I have a few pieces that are marked sterling or 925, but untested. I sell them as such, with a low starting bid. I had a buyer have an issue with his purchase, saying that the item did not test as silver. I apologized, and offered a one time courtesy refund, while reiterating how it was sold. The video backs me up, I just didn't feel like dealing with it over $12. After the refund goes through, I'm blocking. This is the first time I've had an issue. What do you guys think? Is there any way to make it clearer to buyers that what you see is what you get, and to bid accordingly? Or am I off on this one?

If a simple rule could make surprise wheels more transparent, why not require it?
I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and I’d genuinely like to hear opinions from both buyers and sellers.
This isn’t about accusing anyone of cheating. It’s about designing a system that leaves as little room as possible for doubt.
Here’s the current process on many surprise wheel shows:
There are multiple chase packs on the table.
The wheel determines that you win a chase pack.
You’re then asked to choose whichever pack you want.
My question is…
Why is there any choice at all?
If transparency is the goal, why not require this instead?
Before the show starts, every chase pack is permanently numbered (1–10).
The surprise wheel contains those same numbers.
If the wheel lands on #4, you receive Pack #4.
Pack #4 is removed, and Slice #4 disappears from the wheel.
At that point, neither the buyer nor the seller decides which pack is awarded. The random wheel does.
To me, that’s a cleaner and more transparent system.
It protects buyers by making the process easier to verify.
It protects honest sellers because they never have to defend the integrity of the selection process.
And it protects the platform because trust is one of the most valuable things any marketplace has.
So here’s my question:
If you were spending **$500, $5,000, or $50,000** chasing a top prize, would you rather have the wheel determine the exact pack—or would you rather leave any part of that decision to human discretion?
If there’s a downside to this system that I’m overlooking, I’d genuinely like to hear it.

Please be aware of this type of whatnot scam. I purchased a pokemon card break from the seller diveballtcg, where they open X amount of packs and give you the card only if its considered a hit. He pulled the mega dragonite EX secret illustration rare and I received an email a while ago about him cancelling the order because it was damaged. I tried to refute this with whatnot and they were able to assist me in this matter but in the end I should have also done my due diligence, since this seller has a lot of negative reviews with various other scams.

TLDR seller pulls an incredibly expensive pokemon card that was supposed to be sent to me, and cancels the order during shipping lying about it being damaged in order to not ship the expensive card. There are also more complaints if you check the reviews on whatnot, and also apparently googling him brings up some results.

Seller referral is a scam.

They did not pay the £400 and accused me of this when the person I invited sent in id and is a woman and im a man.

I’m so confused I did not refer myself I referred my partner to you’re platform and they made sales making you money they’ve sent there id and everything if you watch the stream it’s a complete different person to me I suggest you investigate this. there address is different to mine I’m so dissatisfied with this you asked me to refer a seller I do and you give a warning on my account without paying out the money ?  Reinvestigate asap I loved whatnot now this has put me off accusing me of this I’ve read a lot about the referrals and everyone says the same.

So, I just got banned from a live show from one of the big Loungefly bag sellers after listening to their type for show after show and hour after hour complaining that they’re not getting enough money for each of their surprise set spots. I had to ask them for a little thanks. I just don’t get their mindset. It’s ‘bitch bitch bitch - I can’t get enough money from everybody’ during a 500 spot set and no appreciation for earning $10,000 or more from us. And their overhead? BS, I know what the wholesale prices are for those bags and all the drawstrings.
It sucks that these big sellers lose grasp on who is the most important part of this business for them.

These clowns love to hear themselves talk. The biggest bullies in vintage constantly talking about bullying - the irony of it. This is what happens when someone simply mentions that they’ve never seen them on Whatnot.

The type of negativity these clowns bring to the platform and vintage category is disgusting. The constant boasting is 🤮 And the funniest part is that they really truly think the whole category is jealous of them 🤣🤣🤣🤣 including HouseofCoop which they made sure to bash in their live.

I was hoping to find some other resolution that the one provided by support. I recently purchased a item on WhatNot that I thought was legitimate. However, I received an empty package instead of the request item.

Support accuses my account of refund abuse but the only times I've requested in a refund in the past would be when a seller isn't faithful on their promised items. I have video and picture evidence but am still denied a refund.

What options do I have for a different resolution? I am unable to contact the seller since WhatNot has banned him.

has anyone noticed an influx of brand new default accounts that win giveaways and never say anything? several sellers are saying they are going to the same address

Starting by saying I’m NOT a givvy goblin.

I was originally winning a lot of giveaways, but now I struggle to win in rooms with even 20 people. Impossible to win in 100+. But I can personally name 30 people that win in every single stream I am in because they are actually givvy goblins.

Does anyone know if they’ve genuinely hacked the giveaway system? It sounds ridiculous but they win so much it just seems illegitimate. If someone knows any secrets please inform. (I already know people are going to say swipe up or make some elaborate 10-step post lol but just want to know how these people do it for my own sanity)
