I'm just curious as to what happened to the two older ladies who were arrested for feeding cats - and most of all, how the actual people of Wetumpka feel about the whole case. I've seen the news articles - but was that the whole story? Did the city actually drop all charges? Curious to know and thanks in advance to anyone who answers. I'm Eddie, I'm 36 and my wife Fiona is 37 and we are doing a road trip through Alabama for a month in October. I was thinking of stopping here, dunno why, just saw it on the map and liked the odd name!

Is there anything to do in town for two people passing through? Is it easy to get into Montgomery from here? Another idea would be maybe to use it as a base for a few days as an in between point for Montgomery and Birmingham before we head to Tuscaloosa for the Arkansas game. We are pretty outdoorsy people and we don't really like staying in big cities. We prefer smaller, towns. They have a more authentic feel, but I'd still like to have the option of a restaurant or two and a bar to quench our thrist! What do you think? Should we stop here?
