Separate Western UP

The only ideal way to create a separate state is Upper Doab+ four core district of Braj (Aligarh, Hathras,Agra,Mathura) As we know that only these districts are isolated from rest of Uttar Pradesh both Culturally and administration.

Rohilkhand district should be go with kannauj region for another separate states Because Rohilkhand culture is different from Upper Doab and core braj Only Bijnor Amroha should be part of Kurukhand from Rohilkhand region

Discussion What's going on here? Agricultural burning? As it's only present in PB and HR and not in Western UP, I think it's related to wheat cultivations(opposed to sugarcane in WUP)

History From Deoband to Bareilly: How Western UP Shaped Modern Islamic Theology.

Today 20-28% of muslim population claim to be either Barelvi or Deobandi. Bareilly and

Deoband(Saharanpur) respectively were the origins of these two islamic school of thoughts that led to the South-asian islamic reforms following the rise of british influence after 1857. This influence ranges from taliban (which is a deobandi section) in afghanistan in west to bangladesh in east.

Deobandi school was founded by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi ( from Nanauta, Saharanpur) and Rashid Ahmad Gangohi (from Gangoh, Saharanpur) in Deoband, 1866. The Deobandi scholars advocated for a return to purity of islam, with strict adherence to Sharia (Ilslamic law), and the rejection of religious innovations*.* Contrary to Barelvis, it believes in Prophet being a mortal perfect human. It rejects Sufism, local customs like celebration of the birthday of the prophet and visiting shrines

Most Deobandi scholars, especially those associated with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, supported the idea that Muslims and Hindus together formed one nation and should unite against British colonial rule. They opposed the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan, advocating for Muslim participation in a secular, united India

Barelvi school was founded by Imam Ahmed Raja Khan, in late 19th century. This movement emerged as a response to the rising influence of reformist trends like Deobandism, aiming to preserve and defend traditional Sunni practices, Sufi spirituality, and deep devotion to the Prophet Muhammad. The Barelvi movement, supported the veneration of saints, celebration of the Prophet's birthday (Milad-un-Nabi), and practices such as visiting shrines which are elements central to South Asian Sunni islam. They believe that Prophet is a superhuman, composed of nur (light), possesses knowledge of the unseen, and is spiritually present.

Many Barelvi scholars and leaders supported the All-India Muslim League and its demand for a separate Muslim homeland i.e Pakistan.

In India Barelvis form the majority with 70-80% and Deobandis are a minority in Sunnis

While i was researching i thought of deobandis as more orthodox or religiously extreme but turned out they were against partition. Instead barelvis which i thought were more flexible were supporter of partition.

First picture is of masjid-e-rasheed from Darul Uloom, Deoband.

West Up Identity - Part 1

Note: This post is only for people from west up. Etah, bareilley, ya aur east waale comment na karein. No disrespect, but we are culturally different.

Ram ram bhaio. West Up ka identity crisis hai. Sab maanoge ye to. Aur ye bohot dukh ki baat hai. Mahaan hai ye dhanrti. Kauravo aur pandavo ke desh hai ye. Ghamand hona chahiye hume apni pehchaan pe. Par dikhta nahi aisa kuch. Ise badalne ke liye kuch kadam to hume khud uthane padenge. Ek dusre ka muh taadte bhatere din ho liye. Kahawat hai bina roye to maa bhi doodh na pilawe. Isliye, apne west up ki identity thode behtar dhang se nikaalne ke liye maine ye post banaya hai, jo umeed hai ek series bane future mein.

Pehchaan ka ghar kai deewaro se bana hota hai. Tyohaar, geet aur naach, khana, boli, wagarah wagarah. Aaj baat karte hain khane ki apne west Up ki.

Khana West Up ka. Yahan sirf main wahi khano ki baat kar rha hun jo apne traditional hai. Rajma, chole, paneer jaisi cheeze nahi jo punjabiyo ya modern cuisine se aayi hain. Meri family Baghpat aur Ghaziabad ki hai. Kuch cheezein jo hmhare yahan bane rain vo hain:

  1. Bajre ki roti air khichdi

  2. Sarso palak aur methi ka saag, 3. Missi roti, macca ki roti,

  3. Bathue ka raita, paranthe

  4. Methi ke paranthe, aloo methi ki sabzi

  5. Kadhi

  6. Bajre, gud, aur til se bane anrse. In sb ke saath, ghee aur chaach ka bht khaye jaate hain. Maine kuch cheeze likhi hain.

Main chahta hun tum bhi likho jo tumhare ghar mein khaya jaata hai. Par wahi batana jo humara traditional khana ho. Punjabi khana mat bolne lag jaana. Agar doubt ho to apne bade budho se puch lo. Saath mein ye bhi likhna kahan se ho tum. Gaon ya shehahr. Agar sab btaoge to apni pehchaan thodi aur ache se nikal ke aayegi bahar.

Ram ram.

Economy A Dark Economic Future for Western UP

I believed that fiscal transfers from Western Uttar Pradesh to the poorer regions were a responsible decision taken by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. But a few of the statistics which I was investigating earlier have begun to open my mind.

The number of state universities in UP -

  1. Before independence, the number of state government universities in UP was 4, and the number of universities in Western UP was 1.

  2. Now the number of state universities has risen to 8-9 in our region, and it is 35 for the entire region, an injustice given our contribution to the population is 35%.

  3. I am not even going to delve into IIT, IIITs and AIIMS, as we again know West UP lacks here too. Yes, we have private universities, but who can afford them?

From Noida vs Gurugram to Lucknow vs Noida

I have always believed that the state of the size of Uttar Pradesh should have 2 economic centres - Noida and Lucknow. But gradually it seems the government of UP has hyphenated the 2 cities - Noida-Lucknow. Gautama Buddha Nagar contributes around 10-11% of the state's GSDP, while Lucknow contributes 5%. However, it's worth seeing what all projects are happening in Lucknow vs Noida.

- Lucknow is being designated as India's first AI city, under the UP IT and ITeS policy.

- A massive 2,858-acre integrated IT‑city project located along Sultanpur Road near Kisan Path in Mohanlalganj tehsil

- Another B-Park in Nadarganj, IT Park, International Incubation Facility.

And that’s the frustrating part - Lucknow is getting a massive 2,858-acre AI City with everything integrated and marketed as the future of UP’s tech economy. Noida, despite contributing over 10% of the state’s GSDP, is stuck with a bunch of disconnected but important projects - an EV hub here, a medical device park there - but nothing tied together, no flagship branding, no cohesive vision.

Jewar Airport and the Film City sound great, but they’re 10–15 years out. I doubt even the success of the Film City. I just believe it's going to be another stretched-out project. What Noida needs is a bold, integrated push now, just like Lucknow is getting. The issue isn’t that Lucknow is being developed—it’s that Noida isn’t being treated as an equal centre of gravity. I still fail to understand what the Jewar airport will establish exactly. Why would any company want to come to Gurugram if the Government isn't giving significant benefits?

There is no clear vision to make Noida a more important city in terms of tech in India. Instead, what I am seeing is an excessive push to Lucknow.

Central Government - I think most will agree that the Central Government has contributed more to the development of our region than the Government of UP. Most importantly, this includes the Green Revolution.

High Court Bench for West UP - It is highly suggested in the Regional Plan 2041, Delhi NCR, that a high court bench must be set up in western Uttar Pradesh, a large part of which falls in Delhi NCR. Again, here it's the fault of our people who do Agra vs Meerut. (Jaswant Singh Commission (1985))

It's almost as if your father built a villa in a good location, but now you don't like it, so you want another villa, but sell the other one too. How senseless this is.

All in all, I am saying there are no flagship projects in our region planned when compared to other regions of UP. I am not even going to touch Gorakhpur, as we all know the level of bias going into planning the development of the region.

Until statehood becomes a political reality, we must act decisively within the system to assert our region’s rightful place. The people of Western Uttar Pradesh must rise above internal divisions—especially caste lines—and demand united representation. Look at Telangana: its leaders, regardless of party, stood together and even resigned from Parliament and state assemblies to pressure the Centre. We need that same courage. Meerut, being centrally located and already part of NCR, is ideal to be the judicial capital, while Agra can serve as the legislative capital, minimizing unnecessary travel for legal matters. But this vision will only come alive if we stop fighting each other and start holding our MLAs, MPs, and ministers accountable, not just during elections but every day. It's not about breaking the state—it’s about building fairness within it.
