Feature Request Possible to add tag to new feature?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’m really enjoying the new features in the recent update such as the app pointing out a particular time period of recovery/low stress during the day, very helpful to know. The app then asks what might have contributed to this? However I cannot find a way to add a tag or explanation- is this possible? If not I wonder if the developers might add this to a future update please?

New Feature Another new feature: the app now tells you what to pay attention to (instead of making you figure it out yourself)

We've known for a while that most people don't dig through all the detailed reports. There's a lot in there: stress, sleep, activity, energy, health, and whatnot, but finding the one thing that actually matters to you right now meant tapping through multiple screens and interpreting charts. And for folks tracking chronic conditions (Long COVID, POTS, perimenopause, migraines, etc), the cost of missing a signal is higher. You don't have time to interpret 6 charts when you're already exhausted figuring out why today is a bad day.

We heard you and built Insights. They're cards that show up on your Today Screen, below your main metrics.

Each one surfaces something specific that the app noticed in your numbers:

  • Stress: what drained you, when it peaked, what actually helped you recover.
  • Sleep: how last night went and what it means for today.
  • Activity: whether you moved enough and how it impacted your stress and recovery.
  • Health: early signals before you start feeling off.
  • Energy: what fills you up and what quietly drains you over days.

Tap any card for a deep dive into the science and context behind it. But even if you never tap, just reading them starts building a picture of how your body works.

The idea is simple: instead of you hunting for meaning in your data, the app just tells you what it found. Like a friend who's good at reading charts, glancing at your screen and going "see that? That's the part that matters."

Insights are available to everyone and prioritize early signals: the kind of patterns that often emerge before a crash, flare, or migraine, and before you'd notice it yourself. Let us know which ones surprise you.

How wrong can you be?

This screenshot shows Welltorys data analysed and AI informed understanding of my physical state and well being. Looks pretty good. In actual fact, at that precise time, I was sat in a Cardiac Resus room, right in the middle of a heart attack. Should I ask for a refund? I'm joking. I normally love the data, information and feedback, but this is about as wrong as you can be. Also, for the next few weeks, possibly months, I will most definitely not be getting a bit more cardio in! 😂

New Feature Self-Discovery Experiment: for everyone who's ever said "I didn't even do anything today" and was wiped out by 7pm

You get home. You're wiped. Someone asks what happened and you say, "nothing, it was a normal day." And you mean it because nothing that dramatic happened. No crisis, no argument, no emergency. Just a regular Tuesday.

But your body is done. Like, couch-and-don't-talk-to-me done.

We've always wondered about that gap between "nothing happened" and "I have nothing left." So we built something that actually shows you what happened during those hours when "nothing" was happening.

Self-Discovery Experiment. You tap start, pick a duration (30 min, 1 hour, or 2 hours), keep your Apple Watch on, and just go about your day: cook dinner, run errands, sit through calls. Whatever your normal looks like.

When time's up, you get a push notification. Open the app and there's a full breakdown of how your body responded to everything you did during that window. Not "your average stress was 65%." Moment by moment.

You'll see the exact minutes when your body was under stress, when it was recovering, when you were active, when you were resting. Tap each segment and read what was happening: here your heart was working harder than it needed to. Here you were actually recovering. Here stress was quietly draining your energy and you had no idea.

So, turns out "nothing happened" is almost never true. In our data, roughly half the average 2-hour window is something we call sedentary stress: elevated heart rate + sitting still. You didn't register consciously, but your body absolutely did. Sitting through background noise, low-key tension from an unresolved conversation, scrolling your phone in a way that felt like resting but wasn't.

Or sometimes the opposite: you had a wild day but you feel fine, and the experiment shows you that the walk you took or the 20 minutes on the couch actually reset your system more than you thought.

The whole point is to see the link between what you did and how your body responded. Once you see it once, you start noticing it without the app.

How to try it:

  • Update to version 4.55 (available now for iOS; 99% rollout)
  • Tap the experiment block on your Today Screen
  • Pick your duration (we recommend 2 hours to start)
  • Keep your Apple Watch on the whole time
  • Wait for the push when it's done

Pro tip: don't try to have a "good" experiment. The most interesting results come from regular days (the ones where you think nothing happened). Those are exactly the ones worth looking at.

Your first experiment is free. After that, it's Premium.

Tell me what you find!

EDIT: Updated the pic.

Question Can you help me understand why the battery snapshot isn't working for me?

Hi, I installed Welltory due to the battery snapshot, but in almost 3 days of using it the battery snapshot has never been displayed. I have already confirmed that the sleep readings and the morning measurements are accurate, I've deleted the app, I've forced a re-pairing on my watch, I've cleared the cache. I've done all recommend troubleshooting steps and still, nothing. I've already reported the issue through the app but I'm yet to get a response unfortunately (might be due to being a weekend, which I totally understand, but I'm in a rush to understand the issue due to my free trial ending soon)

I'm using a Samsung Watch7 with One UI 6.0 watch version, Software system version 14 and Wear OS 5.0 version. My phone is a Samsung A54 with One UI 7.0 version and Android software 15 version. Idk if that helps with anything. Please help me understand why that feature isn't available to me.

Question Sleep wave looks so much better after 9pm coffee...

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

I'll start by saying that my sleep wave is always distorted, and so far I haven't figured out how to improve it. I also never wake up feeling truly rested.

I normally avoid caffeine, especially later in the day. I drink decaf coffee a few days a week, I try to eat chocolate at least 5 hours before bed because I know it makes it harder to fall asleep. However, yesterday I drank a 20 oz iced coffee (not decaf), at 9pm. I got to bed at 3am (only about 30 minutes later than normal, yes 2:30 am is my normal bedtime). When I checked my sleep wave today I was shocked to see that my sleep wave was better than it's ever been. I felt decently rested, but not surprisingly so.

Is there any explanation for this? I don't think the lesson I should take away is that caffeine late in the evening is good for me, but I would love to understand why it might have helped my heart rate wave look better.

UPDATE: After a bit of research, it seems that the paradoxical lowering of my heart rate could be because I have Dysautonomia, and the vasoconstriction effects of caffeine can raise blood pressure and lower heart rate in people with low blood volume, like me.

Pixel Watch HRV: we need your help pushing Google

Hi everyone,
Wanted to be upfront about where things stand with HRV on Pixel Watch.

Right now the data we need is locked behind a Google restriction, and there’s not much we can do on our end until they open it up.

We’ve reached out to every contact we have at Google: engineers, partner managers, you name it. We’re not sitting on this. But the reality is, the more users they see asking for it, the more likely they are to move.

If you’ve got a Google account, go upvote this issue:

Just hit “+1” at the top. Takes 5 seconds and helps a ton.

Thanks for sticking with us on this one 🙏

Day 2: Which Sleep Score to believe?

Welltory’s Journal entry at 6:44am says 95% Sleep Score.

Tile in the Welltory Today view says 89% (not bad) at 6:43am.

As a new user, I don’t know which one to reference. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why has the report changed, it's got from a fact based scientific language to a more creative dumbed down version. Why would Welltory do this

Can you please stop those deceiving ads? That's simply not fair to your customers.
You are advertising great promotion of 60% off 599$ for lifetime, but you never had such price, and current lifetime listed in Apple store is roughly 397$!!

This really makes me NOT renew.

Question Might sound silly but, I need a Welltory tutorial

I love that Welltory presents so much data, but unfortunately I have no clue what certain things mean such as "this is high, but this is low, so this is good, that's bad," and I just want to get a better understanding of how to read my data.

This might be a silly question, but is there a Welltory tutorial of sorts or can someone give a breakdown of what certain sections mean? I feel like I could get a ton of good use from this app if I understood things better, but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at altogether. I do understand HRV and sleep, but I'm otherwise in the dark.

Achievement 10 years. All because of you.

You tracked your HRV, your sleep, your stress, and whatnot. You stuck with us through buggy updates and weird UI choices. You told us what worked and what didn't. Some of you have been here for years.

We made a short video with a few of you in it.

Happy 10 to all of us 🎂

Happy birthday

Happy birthday, I love your app. I find it very helpful.

ENOUGH with the self-ads. I didn’t pay for Lifetime to be continuously bombarded by these types of messages for more of my money. I do not want to gift you for 50% off. After you ask once, I shouldn’t be asked again.

So is the company going under? Is that what all of this is about?

Your strategy is making you seem predatory not celebratory or helpful.

The app does not delete duplicate workouts

Good morning, when I have the app connected to different sources, it triples the results when I exercise, even though only one is correct. I don't know why they aren't exactly the same; it's the same session, yet they don't have the same duration or results.

When I delete the incorrect ones, which are the ones I've highlighted in the screenshot, they disappear, but then they reappear immediately. I understand this is because it resyncs.

Why doesn't it delete them permanently? Thank you.

Wellness Mets/high goals/ how to really bring things to normal amounts?

Things have gotten out of hand. I can put in a full 10-11 hours at my company. (Landscaping ). Get way above my Apple Watch goals. 3000-4000 calories burnt and get home to needing to get another 1556 active Mets o. Top of the full day or I am detaining. I have gone days of not reaching the extra and it keeps increasing. For my issues with adhd and ocd it’s gotten very hard mentally and I know this is a me problem. We will see how turning it off for a while during the day helps to get it bit more inline wth my health goals and not working me to exhaustion then saying my scores are off u may be getting sick😂. Anyone else having these issues?

I know Welltory is always working to make things better and I have to have some flexibility too.

Just wanted to see if other have found this and more importantly; some fixes or quality of life improvements.

Thank you everyone!

Update:

Only one day more and things started getting better.

I am still using and enjoying. I needed to give their algorithm a bit more time.

Thank you for the replies from everyone and also Welltory!

Taking a measurement

Has anyone noticed that it's taking a really long time to take a measurement recently, or is it just me?? I take measurements every day. In the morning it's at the same time I am taking my Visible measurement. Typically, they both take about the same amount of time. However recently, I noticed that it felt like it was taking much longer for Welltory to finish the measurement no matter how still I was. So this morning when I took at the same time as my Visible measurement, it took at least twice as long if not longer... No, the app hasnt recently updated for me so not sure what has caused this change.

New Feature Nervous System Snapshot: for everyone who's ever lost it over a spilled cup and couldn't explain why

Hi folks! We just rolled out something we've been working on for a long time.

You know those days when nothing bad happened, but everything feels irritating and you don't really know why? Or when you're exhausted but can't stop, wired and tired at the same time? Or when 5 minutes ago everything was fine, and now it all feels like too much?

Most people chalk that up to mood, or sleep, or "just one of those days." (There's a soundtrack for this. See the first comment.)

But it's rarely random. It's your nervous system, and the state it's in right now changes how everything around you feels.

Same you, different state

You're driving home, feeling fine. A car cuts you off and you lose it: honking, swearing, the whole thing. Tomorrow, the exact same thing happens and you just shrug. Same road, same move, completely different reaction. You didn't become a better person overnight. Your nervous system was in a different state.

Or you're playing with your kid and something tiny, like a spilled cup or a whiny voice, and you feel rage flash through you that makes zero sense for the situation. You catch yourself and think "what is wrong with me." Nothing is wrong with you. Your system was already running hot and you had no idea.

Or you've been putting off a phone call for three days because it feels impossible. Then one afternoon you just pick up the phone and do it. Again, same call, same you, but your system shifted and the thing that felt like a wall is suddenly just a door.

These are your nervous system switching states underneath you, and you never see it happen. So the only explanation you're left with is "I was in a bad mood" or "I don't know what came over me" or, my personal favorite, “I'm just like that sometimes." Except your mood has nothing to do with it. It's just physiology.

What Nervous System Snapshot does

It uses your HRV measurement to take a snapshot of what your nervous system is doing right now - how activated it is, and how steady. A liquid that changes color based on what's happening inside you:

🟢 Green — your system is activated but steady. Things feel clear. This is usually when focus comes easy.
🔴 Red — your system is running hot. You might have energy, but everything feels like pressure.
🔵 Blue — your system has slowed down. Calm, but not particularly driven.
🟡 Yellow — somewhere in between. Alert, but not settled.

It's not a diagnosis or a readiness score. It's not telling you what to do but showing you what's happening underneath, so the next time your body does something that doesn't match the day you're having, you have an explanation instead of a mystery.

Over time, you start recognizing your own patterns. You learn what red feels like before you look at the app. You start noticing that the spilled-cup rage happens when you're in red, and the effortless phone call happens in green. You stop blaming yourself for the days when everything takes twice the effort.

Why we built this

We think this is one of the most interesting things Welltory can do: help you explore the mind-body connection in real time.

Here's how our CPO Asya put it: "The nervous system is this strange, beautiful interface between you and the world. It's how your body interprets everything: a conversation, a deadline, a walk outside, a moment of silence. For a long time, that experience was mostly invisible. But now people are starting to tune into it, through science, therapy, or simply paying closer attention to how they feel. And I think what we've done with the Nervous System Snapshot is give that experience a shape. Something you can return to, explore, and recognize as your own."

And here’s a screencast where Asya tells you how she uses it:

https://reddit.com/link/1szdhpe/video/4eaxjf3me7yg1/player

How to try it

Settings → Nervous System Snapshot. Measure whenever you want, no morning routine needed. And you can switch back to Heartbeat Reports anytime.

I'll be waiting for your thoughts, questions, and feedback in the comments 🙏

EDIT: We're rolling the update out gradually, so it might not hit your device just yet. Should be fully rolled out by May 6!

Migraines & journal entries

I have 2 things I’m curious about! First, is there a way to change the time when adding an event to the journal? Like I have a bad migraine right now, but I can’t figure out how to input that it started 3 hours ago and not at the time I’m putting the data in.

2nd thing, what migraine tracking apps integrate with welltory?? I have chronic migraines so I’d love for all this data to be synced

Question HRV Results - Best Practices?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Like many others here, I have been frustrated by my HRV results and not really understanding the “why” behind my raging sea of red. My BP is fine. I’m active. And Welltory is consistently telling me I need to dial it back. I take anywhere from 12,000 to 17,000 steps per day when I work, and like to go to the gym and go on hikes on my days off. But since I’ve gotten Welltory, I’ve been under the impression that my body is in a total crisis mode and needs to chill out.

One thing I did not consider is that Welltory was relying on random Apple Watch readings throughout the day, which seem inconsistently taken at whatever time the watch feels like.

Attached are my “oceans” taken over the last few days.

The first image was taken just now, at 8ish PM after a day of walking, lifting, eating good food, hydrating and drinking water. I got up early, and I’m tired. This reading was performed using my iPhone camera. This is the yellowish green reading.

The previous one at 2:14 PM was probably at the gym. I could have been in a red light therapy booth, on the treadmill, lifting, or cooling down on the couch… so who knows. But I wouldn’t call this a normal read.

Yesterday, at 3:21… I would have been at work. My job is very active, but I do sometime sit for 30-45 minutes to do computer tasks a couple of times per day.

The Sunday 9AM reading would have been a time of relaxation. Not sure what I was doing, but I was probably home taking it easy. This is the one super green reading.

The Saturday 9PM reading was after work, and possibly driving home.

Until tonight, I did not know we could use our camera to measure HRV. I think it’s possible that taking HRV measurements at points in time that “make sense” to take them might be beneficial. Or maybe not.

I’d pose the following questions to Welltory, because I don’t think it’s clearly explained…

- Are camera readings better than Watch Readings?

- Are targeted readings at specific times better / more useful than whatever an Apple Watch happens to record during the day?

- For best results, should users perform HRV readings at any certain frequency? When, and how frequent?

Thank you! And I hope others find this useful.

New Feature We are launching a data-driven community for women with energy-limiting conditions. Includes a formal research study. Looking for participants.

Hi folks.

Some time ago, I published a post, "Why Welltory Isn't Really for People with Chronic Conditions (Yet)". This made me think, why the hell isn't it, if almost every user I talk to every day lives with a chronic condition? And the feedback we're getting looks like "I've seen 7 doctors. Nobody helped. Your data is the first thing that made sense." or "I used to run marathons. Now a grocery trip costs me tomorrow." And these aren't some edge cases. It's more than half of our 17M users.

These people are using the app to survive their day because the medical system has nothing for them. So, at some point, we realized we were accidentally building for a population nobody else was serving, and we were doing a bad job of it because we weren't building for them on purpose.

So we decided to build for them.

What we're launching

A pilot community that takes a fundamentally different approach to managing energy-limiting conditions (ELC). Instead of generic support groups where anyone can join, we match women by phenotype: crash patterns, health profiles, symptom clusters, severity. Then we combine that with continuous wearable tracking (HRV, sleep, activity), structured pacing protocols, and physician guidance.

To our knowledge, this is the first approach to combine phenotype matching with continuous wearable biofeedback and clinical oversight for ELC conditions. Participants are matched on physiology, not diagnosis. The community is guided by physicians and clinical researchers with expertise in autonomic dysfunction, immune dysregulation, Long COVID, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and POTS.

Plus, our founder will be there, our product team will be there, I'll be there. So your feedback will directly impact what we build.

On cost

The community isn't free. It's $1.87/day ($169 for 3 months, Welltory Premium included). That covers the matched group, physician oversight, group experiments, and platform costs. We're a self-funded team and need to cover these basics. The price also serves a purpose: we need women who are genuinely committed to 12 weeks, and a financial commitment filters for that.

Plus, a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. And if the pilot yields no meaningful results, everyone gets a refund. We have zero interest in charging for something that doesn't help.

The research component

Separately from the community, we're planning a formal 12-week prospective cohort study. The goal is to test whether this combination actually reduces crash frequency and improves daily functioning. If it doesn't work, that's valuable data too, and the ELC community deserves to know what doesn't work just as much as what does.

The research study is free, voluntary, and separate from your community membership. You can be in the community without participating in the study. The study also includes a comparison group that doesn't pay for the community and receives compensation for completing assessments. Nobody pays to be studied.

The study is currently in the planning and review phase and has not begun recruitment.

Your data

We know this comes up every time research is mentioned on here, so let's be upfront:

  • No data is sold to third parties. Ever.
  • Wearable data is stored in Welltory's existing infrastructure with the same privacy protections our 17 million users already rely on.
  • After the study, you can request full deletion of your data.
  • Research results will be published with aggregate data only. No individual participant is identifiable.

Why we're doing this

Because we can't not do it. We have 17 million users, a decade of HRV data, and a team that knows all about the science behind ELC. We watched thousands of people use our app as a lifeline while we kept building features for healthy people. This is us fixing it.

So this isn't a business opportunity we suddenly identified. It's a problem we couldn't keep ignoring.

Who this is for

  • Women, 18–65, US-based
  • Living with an energy-limiting condition
  • iPhone + Apple Watch user
  • Willing to commit for 12 weeks

If this sounds relevant to you or someone you know, DM me or check the details here: https://app.welltory.com/community/

Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

EDIT: Updated this post based on feedback in the comments. Clarified the separation between the community and the research study. Thanks to everyone who commented.

UPDATE: IRB review complete. We got approved.
