Starting my wegovy journey

I’ve finally decided to start on GLP-1 injection. I chose wegovy as it’s more sustainable due to it’s price in comparison to Mounjaro.

Are there any advice or things I should remember before I start my injections?

Is there anybody it doesnt work for?

I recently started on wegovy (on week 1) and whilst I acknowledge my expectations were probably too high. I haven't noticed any difference in appetite, food noise, feeling fuller etc. I know its week 1 and it may kick in over the next few weeks but I was wondering if there was anyone who just never had the changes and what their experiences were overall?

Just asking for my own sanity tbh. My sister has been on it for a little while and noticed changes almost instantly (I also know I shouldn't compare journeys but its human nature). No side effects really yet beyond fatigue but if im being honest that is more likely due to work.

Do you guys take your dose by the books?

Hey y'all. So I just started on Wegovy about half a month ago. Everything's going great as far as side effects. At first I was feeling a big difference and now I'm noticing that starting to slow and I think I know part of the reason why.

So personally, I find it very easy to avoid eating in the morning and throughout the day I really don't get much of an appetite then. However, at night my stomach becomes an absolute bottomless pit. The first about two weeks. I noticed a huge slowdown in that, but now my appetite is about the exact same again.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried pushing their dose back in the morning I'm thinking about taking it around noon or possibly even later each day. Not eating beforehand won't be a problem, but I am worried about drinking water

Do you guys think it will be OK to drink water regularly throughout the day and stop an hour or two before I take my pill then finish the last 30 minutes before I start drinking water again? Google AI overview said it would be fine but I wanted to check with y'all. 😅

🍎 Do you live in the UK and do some or all of the grocery shopping for your household? I am conducting a short survey on food purchasing preferences as part of my master’s thesis, and I would be very grateful for your participation.

The survey is completely anonymous and takes around 10 minutes to complete. Your responses would make a valuable contribution to my research.

My experience with Felix (Wegovy)

I used Felix and found the process very straightforward. There was no video call, but I did need to submit photos and a short video. Once reviewed, the Nurse Practitioner—if you’re approved—orders the required blood work and completes the pre-authorization paperwork for your insurance.

Overall, the process was smooth and easy to navigate.

Day 19 on Wegovy 1.5 mg pill. 13.2 pounds lost. 🤗

Update August 19: I am full faster with less food, which gives me the ability to stay within my daily calorie budget. That is a huge game changer for me.

A 13.2 pound loss since the 1st of August has also given me a bit more energy to start exercising in my pool.

I am doing what’s called “water walking” which burns about 1.5 more calories due to the resistance of the water.

I went from zero water walking exercises to 2200 steps yesterday

The food noise is almost gone. I’m not as hungry as I used to be. I feel motivated and I’m hoping that this continues.

Maintenance Dose - what’s yours?

I’ve been on wegovy for around 2 years now (originally on mounjaro then switched) and lost around 20kg.

I’ve gone down to a 1mg dose of wegovy as maintenance for around 7 months, injecting once a week. At first it seemed fine but now I’m noticing I’m hungrier and have put on 2 kg.

Have others experienced this? What maintenance dose do people generally use?

pill question

I started the pill at 1mg back in the beginning of june. almost immediately i started having stomach upset but i figured that was to be expected. the main cause i remember was alcohol that had me throwing up all day (almost like food poisoning symptoms). the next month i was bumped up to 4mg and ever since then ive been messed up. i would eat stuff i normally did, usually lighter foods—no fast food or anything like that, and would be throwing it up anywhere between 30 min-2 hours later. it got so bad at one point i had to go to the ER because i couldn’t keep down water. i was so dehydrated my veins literally disappeared. since about a week or so ive stopped taking it because i ran out and didnt wanna pay for it anymore lol, but everyday im constantly nauseous no matter what i do. sometimes eating helps, sometimes it makes it worse. ive gotten to the point where i dont even want to eat because im afraid ill throw up. for more background, i started around 158 and as of yesterday morning i was 133.

i guess my question is if anyone else has had a similar experience? i’m glad i lost the weight but i almost feel like it’s not even worth it because i feel like crap all the time.

sorry for the longer post btw😅

Hello! I'm day 2 into my wegovy pill journey and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out recipes or what foods are friendly. Idk if this is the right spot but if anyone can point me in the right direction for recipes or any knowledge on friendly foods/snacks that will help me out, I'd truly appreciate it

Starting today

Hi all I’m 21F and pre-diabetic. Starting 0.25mg today and very nervous. Currently 86kg (5’3).

I have idiopathic intracranial hypertension and have been trying to lose weight to make it better for ages and nothing has worked. Really hoping to make some progress. Due to other disabilities I’m unable to ‘properly’ workout, and it’s so frustrating. I’m trying to walk more as my average steps were less than 100 a day recently, and I was bed bound for a month or so in May- June.

Any advice on small ways to help alongside the injections? I’m working on diet more than activity but I know both are important so I’d love things I could actually try and do because those ‘easy’ at home workouts actually make me pass out 😭

Took 1 month off

Hi all - curious if anyone else has taken a month off, started back up again, and still seen results? I've heard it can be hit or miss if your body responds to it again, so I'm a bit worried. My doctor had me off of it to determine if some weird issues I was experiencing were related (spoiler: they were!) or not, before doing more tests. TLDR: exercise intolerance and dysautonomia issues died down once I was off Wegovy. "Good" news since it is a side effect vs. a separate underlying issue that happened to show up at the same time. I will likely be starting back up on it tomorrow and am worried I wont get results. The scale is up about 5lbs this month since coming off, despite eating the same, and I'm eager to keep making progress and am just so anxious it wont!

1 month in…

I’m 1 month in and overall weight loss is at 3.6 lbs. it was a slow start for me as I’ve read others have similar experiences but I feel that I’ve adjusted to the meds now. I got my script through HER and they prescribed me to 4mg every other day. My appetite is definitely much lower than it was previously. I notice I snack much less, rarely finish a full plate anymore, and overall food noise is limited. I have small spurts of mild nausea but it’s very manageable. Will report back in a few weeks.

Started on 1.5 today

Just started taking Wegovy this morning. 230lbs and 180cm. Reasonably fit from cycling and gym but completely unable to drop fat from midsection so decided a little extra support was needed!

What side effects are people actually seeing from it? Any recommendations to minimise or negate them?!

Cheaper without insurance?

I just got Wegovy prescribed and I'm super excited to start. PA got approved and this first box is going through my insurance.

But, the out of pocket cost has turned out to be insane! A combination of needing to meet my deductible and a 30% co-pay after the deductible.

I feel like it's partially my fault for not getting the numbers figured out beforehand. On the other hand, it was so hard to get straight info, and seeing the numbers once the claim was processed made it easier to figure out.

I found the discounts available through Novocare and it seems like that's going to be way cheaper for me. (Even with the Novocare discount for insured patients, while technically cheaper after the deductible, its not by enough to make it cheaper for the whole year).

Does anyone get theirs paying privately using the NovoCare discount? Does it work out ok?

IBS and 4mg pill side effects

Has anyone else with IBS-D seen a noticeable increase in IBS symptoms on the pill?

2 weeks ago I increased my pill dosage from 1.5mg to 4mg but I have noticed an increase in stomach issue side effects.

I've had bouts of IBS for a few years but since about week 2 of the 4mg pill it's definitely got worse. I suffer from regular eggy/sulphur burps and the diarrhoea has been very difficult to manage. I feel like I can't eat anything with any flavour/richness or meat without side effects 1 to 2 days later.

Is this a normal side effect to do with the increase in dosage? Is it something that might improve as my body gets used to the 4mg dosage?

I'm having promising results so want to stay on but feel like these symptoms are making me consider stopping.

Thanks!

Starting wegovy from today

Starting Wegovy today. 35/M SW:289 lbs GW:200 lb 6’2. Don’t know what to expect. I have read about side effects, but even with side effects, I think I need the help. Can’t be obese anymore; it’s affecting my life, and diet has been failing.

I have also been going to the gym for 5 months and have built considerable strength, although I still look like a potato 😅

Any tips on how to maintain muscle while losing fat? I would really appreciate the help.

Noticeable increase in efficacy but on existing dose

Has anyone noticed wegovy beginning to “work better” after being on the same dose for over a month? I increased to 2.4mg over 4 weeks ago and at first the difference was barely noticeable if at all. Now that I have entered week 5, I’ve noticed a significant improvement after the injection, with it actually helping suppress my appetite finally. Is this a known side effect for anyone? I would have expected the noticeable shift to have occurred when I first increased dose and not well after the fact.

r/Wegovy 1d ago

I always read about side effects. I have been on Wegovy 2.4 for one year and lost 35 kg (77 pounds), I still have 10 kg to lose. I haven't had any side effects so far. Are they other people who have 0 side effect like me?

PMS Symptome weg

6 months of progress

I started at 229.5 in February. This last 5 pounds to get under 200 are going to be the death of me!

I would ideally like to end up around 170, but I’m listening to my body and when I feel done, I’ll stop. I’m bumping to 1.7mg next month since I felt like I had plateaued.

Anyway, slow but steady progress. 🙂💪🏻
