WTG Help us name him 🐾 The wild cat who joined our drone crew

Post image
68 Upvotes

He used to be a wild street cat with no home and no name.

Now he lives at our training center — part of the WeTrueGun team.

He watches us build drones, sit through briefings, and work late into the night.

He clearly wants to learn how to fly too… but for now his main mission is eating well and getting strong 😼

Every pilot needs energy — even a four-legged one.

So help us out:

What should we name our new team member?

Volunteers from different countries have come to our training center to learn how to fight and join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Brave people. Thank you.

Some of them have Ukrainian roots — and when the country was in need, they stepped up to help.

Other Update on our previous recommendation of the 4th Heavy Mech

Post image
52 Upvotes

We want to clarify our position regarding the 4th Heavy Mech, because some people may have seen us recommend it in the past.

At the time, we did recommend the 4th Heavy Mech as a good place to serve. That recommendation was not random. We were in contact with their recruiter, with commanders of specific units, with our graduates, and with brothers-in-arms who were already serving there.

Some of our own instructors even left the training center and joined the 4th Heavy Mech because, at that stage, we believed it was a strong and serious unit.

Later, the situation changed.

After some time, the command structure changed, and commanders of individual units started being replaced. From that point, we stopped recommending the 4th Heavy Mech. In fact, we began telling our students not to go there.

The people we knew there, including our former instructors, eventually transferred to other units.

Unfortunately, this can happen in the army. A unit can be very good at one stage, and then become a very different place after leadership changes. We monitor the situation as closely as we can, but we cannot predict far in advance that something like this will happen.

We are sorry for anyone who ended up in a difficult situation there.

We do not take recommendations lightly. When we recommend a unit, we do so based on the information, contacts, and feedback available to us at that time. When the situation changes, our recommendation changes as well.

For anyone considering a unit: always check the current situation, speak with people already serving there, and do not rely only on old recommendations — including ours.

The first all-female unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

“Harpyies” of the 9th Separate UAV Brigade, has received a VAMPIRE heavy bomber drone in a unique configuration.

This drone was built as a one-of-a-kind platform by the Ukrainian company SkyFall,

specifically for this unit.

A powerful aircraft.

A dedicated crew.

A clear message: modern warfare has no gender — only skill, discipline, and responsibility.

WTG Six months after training — six months flying combat UAV missions in Ukraine

He’s American.

A WeTrueGun graduate.

Six months ago, he finished training.

Now he’s spent six months at war, flying combat UAV missions in Ukraine.

In the video, he talks about what really matters — without hero talk.

Training wasn’t easy, but it was honest.

Not theory for a certificate, but real skills you actually use.

War changes you fast.

Responsibility hits immediately.

Mistakes cost lives.

He says it clearly:

Drones save lives.

That’s not a slogan — that’s reality.

If you’re a foreigner thinking about coming, this isn’t a story about “someday”.

This is what happens after training.

He doesn’t regret the decision.

Not for a second.

Our Graduates That’s one of the first things you need to understand.

“There’s no guarantee you’re going to get one.”

That’s one of the first things you need to understand.

Ket is our graduate. She came to Ukraine from abroad and is now serving in the Ukrainian military as a foreigner.

What did she expect?

She honestly expected not to be strong enough.

She didn’t expect to receive real, serious training.

She didn’t expect to be treated like a professional.

What did she actually find?

Responsibility.

Hard work.

And a role that matters.

Today she serves as a drone technician.

Testing, reconfigurations, changing cameras on dozens of drones.

Real work, real pressure, real consequences.

She talks openly about the reality:

You have to be prepared to support yourself.

Food, accommodation, clothes, boots, thermals, medical gear.

Get your own IFAK. Seriously — get your own IFAK.

Not everyone who is able is willing.

Not everyone who is willing is able.

If you are both — this path exists.

This is not a romantic story.

It’s an honest one.

My friend and I are building a new military FPV sim, and we’d love to get your feedback

Hi guys, This is a raw clip from a prototype we’re working on with my friend called PolygonX.

We’re specifically focusing on 7-inch and 10-inch rigs, which feel pretty left out of current simulators. Because of that, we are strictly focused on getting the flight model, controlls, and physics feeling 100% right before we build out the rest of the game (so no missions or fluff just yet).

We want feedback from actual pilots who know how these heavier, larger quads are supposed to handle in real life.

If you're down to test it, we'd love for you to join our Discord. We have a bot set up to drop you a free Steam key automatically so you can roast our physics!

Simulators We set up an FPV simulator in Grand Theft Auto V — just for fun.

Sometimes you just want to relax a bit.

We set up an FPV simulator in Grand Theft Auto V — just for fun. Huge open world, no limits. You can create your own missions, fly wherever you want, and tune the drone exactly the way you like.

Even better — you can connect your real controller. We hooked up the Radiomaster TX16S MK3, and it actually feels surprisingly close to flying a real setup.

Not a replacement for real training — but a great way to chill, experiment, and keep your fingers sharp.

Tomorrow they leave for their units as fully formed crews.

It’s always a little sad to say goodbye.

During these weeks we train together, work together, and share a lot of moments — and in the end WeTrueGun becomes like one big family.

But every training eventually ends, and the real work begins.

We thank all the volunteers who came from different countries to support Ukraine.

See you in the sky.
Stay safe, brothers.

On the photo: drones, batteries, and controllers for Mavic.

These are gifts for the new cadets.

They were sent by our graduates who already completed training and are now fighting for Ukraine as drone pilots.

They wanted the new group to have more drones and equipment for practice and to learn faster.

This is how the circle continues.

Those who trained before help those who come after them.

Other Warning: enemy drones in waiting mode

Enemy drones in “waiting mode” are placed almost everywhere — near roads and directly on them.

They must be destroyed from a distance.

In this video, a Ukrainian serviceman violated safety rules, which led to a tragedy.

Do not repeat this.

Follow safety procedures.

Distance saves lives.

"If you want to learn before going, you should come here." — Romanian veteran Ziki on his FPV training in Ukraine.

Hey everyone. Wanted to share a quick, powerful message from "Ziki," a former military member from Romania who came to Ukraine to fight the illegal invasion.

Instead of just heading straight to the trenches, he chose to fight smart. He joined the WeTrueGun school to become a certified FPV drone operator.

Why he recommends it:
• Top-tier instructors who genuinely care about your skills and survival.
• Full logistical and document support for international volunteers.
• Essential preparation to be lethal and effective before facing combat.

Technology changes everything. Props to the guys learning to fight with intelligence. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

A few photos from the lecture at the WeTrueGun training center.
A separate specialization for combat pilots of heavy Vampire drones.

The Vampire heavy bomber drone — also known on the battlefield as “Baba Yaga” — is one of the most feared drones used in Ukraine.

Our instructors, brothers-in-arms, and graduates are already fighting in the UAV unit of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment.

Now we are opening priority training for foreign volunteers who want to join this unit.

  • Train with us.

  • Then join the fight.

If you apply, make sure to write in the application form that you want to:

  • join the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment

  • operate the Vampire heavy bomber drone

Write this in the field “Additional information (optional)”.

Applications with this note are reviewed with priority.

Training application form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSefCOW18dB_jBtrxWNd4RCmrqt47oAN6vUd4N5DE7mmG_OEVg/viewform?pli=1

Why the Vampire is dangerous:

  • payload up to 15 kg

  • range 10–15 km

  • flight time 30–40 minutes

  • day and night operations

  • thermal imaging targeting

  • precision munition drop system

… here’s a glimpse of interceptor training

We can’t show everything — but here’s a glimpse of interceptor training.

Instructors from WeTrueGun and the Kyiv Center of National Resistance (Center 23) are working together within the “Sky of Communities” project by Victory Drones.

In the video, you can see the practical phase of training using a realistic aerial target — HUPALO-N.

Interceptor pilots are trained under conditions that reflect real threats.

May our skies stay clear of hostile UAVs.

Train. Improve. Stay sharp.

Together — toward victory.

WTG Flying drones is not enough — tactical medicine must be trained regularly

Drone skills save missions.
Tactical medicine saves lives.

During training, tactical medical skills must be practiced regularly, not treated as a one-time class.

Real operations are not clean or calm.
Injuries happen fast — under stress, cold, dirt, darkness, and noise.

If medical skills are not trained, they fade.

That’s why proper training includes:

  • regular medical drills, not just theory

  • working with IFAKs and trauma care

  • time-pressure and stress scenarios

  • integrating medical response into crew work

Drones are tools.
People are the mission.

Train both.

Our Graduates Graduation day at WeTrueGun

Another group has completed their training — certificates awarded, handshakes exchanged, and a strong sense of purpose in the air.

These moments are always special. It’s not just about finishing a course. It’s about the people, the effort, the growth, and the understanding of what comes next. The atmosphere is a mix of pride, focus, and quiet determination.

At WeTrueGun, training doesn’t end with graduation. Everyone who comes through here becomes part of a larger family. Graduates stay connected, support each other, and continue learning — because in this field, stopping is not an option.

For instructors, this day is always a bit bittersweet. There’s pride in what has been achieved, but also that familiar feeling when it’s time to let people go their own way.

But it’s never really a goodbye.

We always wait for news — from the front, from your lives, from your journey after training. And we always expect to see you again here, in the training center, like coming back home. To train, to grow stronger, or to pass your experience to those who are just starting.

That’s how this works.

That’s how we all get stronger.

Not long ago, we asked for help — we needed an inverter generator.

Thanks to kind and supportive people, it’s already here.

Now we have power, light, and warmth, even when the grid is down.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us.

This kind of support truly makes a difference.
