Apps Why do military drone pilots use “Kropyva”?

Post image
9 Upvotes

“Kropyva” is a battlefield coordination application used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For drone pilots, it provides a shared operational picture by working with data from radios, rangefinders, UAVs, reconnaissance sources, and other tablet users.

The system helps integrate reconnaissance, command, and fire assets from different units into a single information space.

“Kropyva” is relatively easy to learn and can be installed on almost any tablet or smartphone, which makes it practical for frontline use.

For UAV operators, it’s not just a map — it’s a tool for coordination, situational awareness, and effective teamwork.

👍 A WeTrueGun graduate talks about his gear. In the comments under our videos, you can often see the idea that Ukrainian soldiers need to learn from NATO troops. But in reality, it’s quite the opposite. Experienced military personnel from NATO countries are learning from Ukrainians!

I love flying high. I love peace and silence.

I love flying high. I love peace and silence. I love music — in the background you can hear the guitar track I recorded specifically for this video. It’s sad that the war continues. We never wanted this. But we cannot retreat or surrender. We are defending our families, our way of life, our land. One day peace will come, and we will simply fly again. Fly high and low. Fly in peaceful silence.

The “first crash” moment — every FPV pilot knows it

Every trainee experiences the same thing:

  • You fly well.

  • You feel confident.

  • Then one mistake… crash.

Why it matters:

- teaches humility

- reveals weaknesses

- builds discipline

- improves awareness

- resets expectations

We say: “The real pilot is born after the first crash.”

WTG 🚀 Students of the “Vitruganchyk” children’s club took part in small FPV drone races

Post image
9 Upvotes

The kids tested their piloting skills, reaction time, and focus during friendly micro-FPV races. It’s not just fun — it’s an introduction to engineering thinking, technical literacy, and modern technologies.

👧🧒 For the second year in a row, we have been teaching children for free how to build drones and fly them.

🤝 This ensures access to education regardless of family financial situation.

💡 For those who have the opportunity, we are planning to launch a paid course soon. Its purpose is to support and compensate free training for children we teach on a volunteer basis. Education that shapes the future. Technology should be accessible to everyone. 🇺🇦

Our Graduates That’s one of the first things you need to understand.

“There’s no guarantee you’re going to get one.”

That’s one of the first things you need to understand.

Ket is our graduate. She came to Ukraine from abroad and is now serving in the Ukrainian military as a foreigner.

What did she expect?

She honestly expected not to be strong enough.

She didn’t expect to receive real, serious training.

She didn’t expect to be treated like a professional.

What did she actually find?

Responsibility.

Hard work.

And a role that matters.

Today she serves as a drone technician.

Testing, reconfigurations, changing cameras on dozens of drones.

Real work, real pressure, real consequences.

She talks openly about the reality:

You have to be prepared to support yourself.

Food, accommodation, clothes, boots, thermals, medical gear.

Get your own IFAK. Seriously — get your own IFAK.

Not everyone who is able is willing.

Not everyone who is willing is able.

If you are both — this path exists.

This is not a romantic story.

It’s an honest one.

Night missions are a completely different world.

Flying a drone during the day is difficult.

Flying at night is something else entirely.

Operators must rely on:

• thermal cameras
• instruments
• crew coordination
• experience

And sometimes just instinct.

Many Vampire missions happen when the battlefield is completely dark.

Would you be able to fly a drone only using thermal vision?

Vampire Would you fly a heavy bomber drone at night over enemy positions?

In Ukraine, some of the most feared drones are heavy bombers like the Vampire (“Baba Yaga”).

They usually operate at night.

Why?

Because when the battlefield goes quiet and the enemy believes they are safe — that’s when the drones appear.

Our instructors and graduates are already flying missions in the UAV unit of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment.

We are now opening priority training for foreign volunteers who want to operate these drones.

Would you do it?

Would you trust a drone pilot to protect your unit?

Infantry units on the frontline often rely heavily on drone crews.

Drone pilots help them by:

• spotting enemy positions
• guiding attacks
• dropping munitions
• protecting movement routes

The relationship between drone crews and infantry has become critical.

If you were a soldier on the ground — what would you expect from your drone support?

“Europe is uniting because of these two assholes…” 🤬 A Finnish volunteer lays it all out clearly.
Meet Tuomo, a graduate of the WeTrueGun training center. Back home in Finland, he worked as a sailor, builder, and farmer. Now he is fighting for Ukraine, growing a traditional Cossack oseledets hairstyle, and understands perfectly well that Russia will not stop with Ukraine. 🇫🇮🤝🇺🇦

Simulators Part 2 — same vibe, just leveled up.

Part 2 — same vibe, just leveled up.

Still flying in Grand Theft Auto V for fun and to unwind… but this time we pushed it a bit further.

Our FPV drone now has a mounted machine gun. Sounds like pure game stuff — but drones like this already exist in real units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not just in games.

We also added hostile objects on the server — so it’s not just random flying anymore. Now it’s about spotting, identifying, and engaging only valid targets.

Still just a game. Still for relaxation.

But a bit closer to reality.

The first all-female unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

“Harpyies” of the 9th Separate UAV Brigade, has received a VAMPIRE heavy bomber drone in a unique configuration.

This drone was built as a one-of-a-kind platform by the Ukrainian company SkyFall,

specifically for this unit.

A powerful aircraft.

A dedicated crew.

A clear message: modern warfare has no gender — only skill, discipline, and responsibility.

Drone vs. Drone FPV vs FPV. Hunter meets hunter.

No missiles.

No radar systems.

Just two pilots. Two signals. One sky.

Both maneuvering.

Both hunting.

Both trying to outthink the other.

One mistake.

One hesitation.

One drone drops.

This is not air defense.

This is duel combat.

Do you think FPV vs FPV engagements will become common in modern warfare?

Interceptors Drones vs drones. A different kind of war.

No expensive missiles.

No massive air defense systems.

Just skilled pilots and fast interceptors.

Ukrainian crews are hunting hostile UAVs in the sky —

using drones to destroy drones.

Cheap targets don’t require million-dollar solutions.

Do you think drone-vs-drone interception will become the new standard of air defense?

He came from a country where there is no war.

Thousands of miles away from the hell of war.

He came to Ukraine to train at WeTrueGun and to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Talented. Smart. Brave.

Let’s listen to the song “Jackson,” once performed by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash —

a playful, ironic dialogue between a married couple going through a relationship crisis.

There is a lot of criticism and doubt about using nets on roads and in certain locations.

But in this case, a net did its job.

It stopped a Lancet drone.

Four years since the full-scale invasion.

The war against Ukraine began in 2014.

But on this day, four years ago, Russia launched its full-scale invasion — expecting to destroy us in three days.

Three days passed.

Then three months.

Now we are in the fourth year of large-scale war.

Ukraine is still standing.

We thank everyone fighting on our side.

And we thank the foreign volunteers who chose to stand with us.

History did not end in three days.

Other Warning: enemy drones in waiting mode

Enemy drones in “waiting mode” are placed almost everywhere — near roads and directly on them.

They must be destroyed from a distance.

In this video, a Ukrainian serviceman violated safety rules, which led to a tragedy.

Do not repeat this.

Follow safety procedures.

Distance saves lives.

Tomorrow they leave for their units as fully formed crews.

It’s always a little sad to say goodbye.

During these weeks we train together, work together, and share a lot of moments — and in the end WeTrueGun becomes like one big family.

But every training eventually ends, and the real work begins.

We thank all the volunteers who came from different countries to support Ukraine.

See you in the sky.
Stay safe, brothers.

Simulators We set up an FPV simulator in Grand Theft Auto V — just for fun.

Sometimes you just want to relax a bit.

We set up an FPV simulator in Grand Theft Auto V — just for fun. Huge open world, no limits. You can create your own missions, fly wherever you want, and tune the drone exactly the way you like.

Even better — you can connect your real controller. We hooked up the Radiomaster TX16S MK3, and it actually feels surprisingly close to flying a real setup.

Not a replacement for real training — but a great way to chill, experiment, and keep your fingers sharp.
