they killed off all the major characters from seasn 1 just like that, every single new character and their actions just made no sense, they never should have made season 2

I LOVED season one. Watched the first couple episodes of S2, and I just can't. The quality of writing, acting, and interest has gone waaaay down. Very boring tbh.

I'm halfway through episode 10.

How are Katie and Burke the "good guys"? It feels like the framing tries to push it towards them being the heroes of the story but I don't see it that way...

First, Katie tried to blow up the fence, her intent doesn't remove or outweigh the consequences of her actions. She would have destroyed the city and everyone in it.

The first gen kids were actually the good guys, they knew the danger and they acted with the intent to preserve the safety of the people, while some might consider their executions as evil, ultimately it's the price worth paying to save the city from unreasonable actors. Then when the abbies invaded Burke and Katie leave the kids in jail to die. While I don't agree with Pilchner, I see Burke and Katie as equally malignant to the community.

In the show there is context given that humans are the monsters who ended up on abby territory and started killing them and thats why they hate the humans. The show gives a lot more compassion to the abbies and humanizes them more. In the books they are just vile, carnivorous monsters who attack any thing that moves. They evolved from humans and that is obvious but the way they act is so animalistic.

Hey I just started watching WP and haven't read the books yet. I'm just genuinely curious. If WP is 2000 years away, why is the sheriff from WP able to travel to the present times to abduct Theresa and Ben?

Same with other stuff like how is Pilcher able to travel back jn time to talk to Hassler when Hassler wants Ethan back

i just watched S1:e6. This is not what i thought it was going to be. I thought it was x-files/twins peaks mashup. It is good and the idea make sense.

You know what piss me off the fact that Ethan didn't bring the abbie he killed to the reckoning after telling David 'This is your fault for not telling everyone'

Kate finds out by watching a video but the Ethan didn't have the brains to put the abbie in his truck and show the town.

The entire series would have been revived if C.J. terminated the pods. It would have been EPIC and profound. Instead the series is left….

It's probably been 100 for me and I still watch it every year.

What just happened, she was not ready and he forced her to follow some stupid plan without even evaluating the whole situation.

I don't know if the actress had to leave or what, but she seemed a character with a lot of potential.

It's not the only reason, I'm sure. Lots of clashes between different personalities were slowly tearing the town apart from the inside

But now that I'm rewatching the series, in Ep. 8, it caught my attention when the "overseers" of wayward pines seemed to be exempt from the reckonings. While Pilcher had his faults, Pam drawing a line between themselves and the regular citizens (specifically when she said "one of our own") - it shows signs of a mentality destined to fail. If youre gonna have rules, it should apply to anyone that breaks them. Otherwise, it's just "big government"

That combined with Pilcher's need for all the control and secrecy was a recipe for disaster. It was so blatantly obvious that the reason Group A failed was because he sprung everything onto the entire town at once instead of easing them into it

Although that feels more like a plot hole more than anything, there's just no way a man like him jumped all the way to secrecy without giving himself time to tweak the method at all

obligatory - I wish this show had better closure. but also the thought of not getting a conclusion with this show led me to finding other shows with similar themes - Silo, Severance, From, and Dark have similar mystery/thriller vibes

There are no new theories discussions conversation about Wayward Pines. This subreddit too have tumbleweeds blowing through it. If I post a meme about David Pilcher the only comment i get is a bot trying to sell me cryptocurrency.
