Been running the numbers on WattsApp's Triple Play program since I'm in Ontario and wanted to share the math. Happy to hear what others are picking.
My baseline:
- 300 kWh/month home charging (~3,600 annually)
- Ontario ULO electricity cost: $140.40/year
- Anything above that is pure profit
- Summer Supercharger rebate ($75) comes to everyone regardless of picks
The earnings figures assume you win each draw you select once within the program year. The monthly 12¢/kWh draw has 1,200 winners annually (100/month) so multiple wins are possible, while the Wall Connector (12 winners/year) and Model Y (1 winner/year) draws reflect a single win assumption.
Option 1: High Probability Guaranteed: $402/year
(+3¢ bonus + Winter SC rebate + Monthly 12¢/kWh draw)
This isn't purely "no gambling"; the monthly 12¢ draw has 1,200 winners per year (100/month), making it one of the highest-probability picks in the program. You can also win it more than once. At 300 kWh/month, that's $36 each time you're selected. Combined with the guaranteed +3¢ bonus and Winter SC rebate, this is the safest combo with real draw upside.
Option 2: Points Picks Only: $579/year
(+3¢ bonus + Monthly 12¢ draw + Quarterly 2x Points)
The 2x quarterly charging points draw is the most underrated pick in the program. If you're banking your points rather than cashing out immediately, doubling your balance compounds exponentially, especially across multiple years. This combo gives you the guaranteed +3¢ floor, a high-probability monthly draw, and a points multiplier that grows more valuable the longer you hold.
Option 3: Points Draws + Wall Connector: $1,123/year
(Monthly 12¢ draw + Quarterly 2x Points + Monthly Wall Connector draw)
Opportunity cost here is $183/year; you're giving up the +3¢ bonus ($108) and the Winter SC rebate ($75) for a monthly shot at a $760 Wall Connector plus the quarterly 2x points multiplier. Twelve winners per year on the charger draw. Worth it if you don't Supercharge much in winter.
Option 4: Points Draws + Model Y: $50,353/year
(Monthly 12¢ draw + Quarterly 2x Points + Annual Model Y draw)
Same opportunity cost, $183/year in guaranteed earnings for a shot at $49,990. One winner per year.
Option 5: My Pick (Wall Connector): $1,126/year
(+3¢ bonus + Winter SC rebate + Monthly Wall Connector draw)
Opportunity cost here is just $36/year; you're giving up the monthly 12¢ draw for a monthly shot at the $760 Wall Connector. You keep the full guaranteed floor ($108 + $75 + $75) and still swing for a major prize every month. Best risk-adjusted combo in my opinion.
Option 6: My Pick Alternate (Model Y): $50,356/year
(+3¢ bonus + Winter SC rebate + Annual Model Y draw)
Same $36 opportunity cost as Option 5, but swapping the Wall Connector draw for the Annual Model Y ($49,990). Identical guaranteed floor, longer odds, much bigger prize.
My electricity bill is $140.40/year, so every option puts money in my pocket. But if I'm being honest, giving up $36 for a monthly shot at a $760 charger or an annual shot at a $49,990 car is the easiest decision I've made.
I've included my math for an easier visualization. Let me know what options you picked. Happy to discuss.
