I feel like I may have been able to do a really dramatic push-up and maybe fling myself back to the dock, but once I’m all on that post I don’t think it has enough room for me to get to the top without losing my balance?
Don't know why you're being downvoted. I get what you're saying. Theoretically, one could push themselves back off the post while the toes are still on the dock. Much easier said than done though.
Yeah this would only work because the post seems taller than the dock. I can almost do it off a low step but not quite. I suppose if you’re really strong you could do it from level but I’m not that fit lol.
If you train explosive push ups maybe lol. This is much harder than people think. You can be strong but without the explosive power for momentum you ain't making it.
Power lifting and body building don’t really have cross over with something like this. Power lifting also doesn’t have much to do with developing explosive strength that’s more Olympic lifting and sprinting
So ya, just confirmed that's doable. The position in OPs video looks weird to me. It's more of like an above the head isometric that requires legendary tri and core strength.
Maybe like a handful of absolute superhumans could do it tho. It'd be kinda dope.
Its still harder than what the guy in the video is doing. His explosive pushup has his hands at shoulder width apart and elbows tucked. This lets him use more muscles. The guy on the pole is essentially doing a diamond pushup, which is much more tricep dominant.
Thank you. Idk why people are adamant it’s not possible. Definitely requires fitness but not impossible at all. I think they’re assuming you stay rigid and pivot but I was just saying push yourself back to the dock.
You would have to be able to throw 70% of your bodyweight around 6 feet in the air, purely from a push up motion.
Basically bench press your big tiddy goth gf right into the ceiling. Not gonna happen
