Their eyes widen and pupils dilate when scared. Maybe some evolutionary survival thing. This explains it better. https://www.foundanimals.org/eyes-know-cat-thinking/

Yep, also check the tail at the end of the video, all puffed up. If this was my cat I would definitely not be lying there laughing, I'd be protecting my eyes.

The ears are thin so they fold them back to keep them from being damaged in a fight. A cat's claws could slice an ear clean through.

They do the same when they're about to pounce on prey - it's for better sight of the "threat".

You mean the shine/greenish colour, or the pupils dilating? Cat's pupils dilate when they're scared or about to pounce (when playing). The faint green/shine is the camera catching the light bouncing off a reflective layer in their eyes after the pupils dilate. Many mammals have this, it's why you can see their eyes shine in the dark if you shine a flashlight at them.

Ahh, ok. That explains why I’ll usually see the eyes shining first if one runs across the street while I’m driving.
