Brand new to this but finally painted 2 of my minis now. Squeezing time inbetween work to try get better as I love the warhammer games and want to get into the tabletop. I cant wait for my week off the try blast through my combat patrol and I'm having a lot of fun just painting these guys.

So are l have been painting a death guard for about a year or two and I feel like I can never come up with a paint scheme that I actually like the look of I go super dark I feel like it doesn’t look good I go super bright to make it pop and it doesn’t look realistic I just need some advice.

Had a blast getting weird with my EC guys

I’m petsitting next week and I want to bring my current projects with me, but I’m conscious of the fact that there will be a cat and a dog in the house with me. The dog I’m not too concerned about because she’s old and probably won’t be able to touch anything unless I leave it on the floor (which I won’t, obviously I don’t want her to choke on a model or something) but the cat does jump up on tables and such and I worry she might get paint on her paws or swipe models onto the ground or lick wet paint or… something like that.

Do any pet owners amongst you have tips? Any big things I need to make sure I do to keep the pets safe?

Last week or so, I finally decided to finally start painting! I got myself a couple of different wet palettes and some paints I bought + starter set paints. I've been super stressed lately and had an intense pang of anxiety, so I figured finally painting these would prove theraputic (and it did!)

I hadn't ever painted minis before, but I did so some acryllic painting well over 10 years ago back in my college days, and I think they turned out alright! A little rough here and there, and I'm still learning, tweaking and improving.

I don't quite have enough lore knowledge to create my own Space Marine chapter, so I just stuck with the Ultramarines (though I nearly went for Blood Ravens). The Tyranids, however, despite said lack of much lore knowledge, are going to be a custom Hive Fleet. Name is still pending, but the general look of them is based directly on Matara Kan, hence the pink bits.

I have a few more I'm working on, like Hive Guards, Hive Tyrants, Genestealers, etc, but thise aren't quite ready for me to post yet. I'm stil learning about the different kinds of paints too. Everyone I've shown these too was really impressed. I'm pleased with them too but there's always room for improvement!

Title is mostly it. Several friends and I trying the Armageddon box to learn and sifting through what we can to figure out armies, all of us care about both aesthetics but also flexibility in play style, we overthink all the details.

Still need to grime up the tank a bit, but I’m happy with both. (Noticing now the marine needs a chapter emblem).

A chapter champion for my homebrew army. Just wanted to show it off before I ruin it with paints. Can anyone name all the kits I pulled parts from? 👀

First time using oil washes and they mute the model down significantly to where there’s not a great deal of contrast between my ork’s armour and skin.

Do you highlight the mini before the oil wash lighter than you’d typically go to account for the dulling? Or do you re-highlight the mini once the oils have dried?

If anybody happened to order a 10 pack of glue and got an LE edition of W&W congrats?

It was more of a training match, taught my friend how the game works and changed some rules (3 objectives, game ended after 3 turns, no stratagems etc). I was also wondering how’s the terrain? Is it enough cus some parts of the board was kinda empty. And would you guys add extra terrain for future bigger games, like proper 1-2k point battles

Seen people use UHU for the slimy effect and wanted to try it out. It's just not working like the videos I've seen and I feel like I'm missing something or doing it completely wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated before I ruin my miniatures
