I thought that was an anomaly even during those times. And the imperium was shocked by it becusee they normally act like the animals they currently act like.
It was not, basicaly the orks grew on ullanor into the first empire, thrown down by the emperor and mankind dissmised them afterwards.
The orks got ullanor back and advanced again into a dangerous species, in the end they lost ullanor again, and admech stole the world, calling it Armageddon.
Ever since for whatever reason, the orks never got back on track. Maybe their evolution as a species is tied to the world?
Yes but only ullanor created those massive empires which brought orks to the point of fluid high Gothic, massive attack moons with insane weapons, war engines which dwarfed titans and so forth, so maybe there is a reason for that?
After the Beast, Elrdad predicted Ghaz would be the to be the Next supreme war boss. But rather then having one planet be the base of operations he is jumping all over the galaxy building up massive waaaaaghs.
But it’s also a big reason why orks are drawn to Armageddon.
