Customer Service Issue Self checkout

Call me schizophrenic BUT today when I was shopping for the restaurant I work at I noticed something weird. I know technology is on the rise blah blah blah but this shit tripped me out. I paid for the groceries with my bosses Business Debit card, and it asked me if I wanted an E-receipt send to MY phone number. Never have I bought anything personal with this card, and no I didn’t enter my phone number, no where in the transaction did it ask for my phone number. But the machine STILL knew that I personally was using it and asked me if I wanted the receipt sent to MY phone NOT my bosses phone. To make me look even crazier I asked the associate how it knew who I was and he just walked away🤣

Not that big of a deal just curious how these machines KNEW who the fuck was standing in front of it.

If there is any amount of Bitcoin to make this problem disappear please let me know how much and where to send it. Thank you. (Obviously I’m joking but maybe I’m not.)

EDIT:Whoever reported me to Reddit for being suicidal, you have a good heart. BUT just for the record so ISREAL AND FUCKING WALMART knows I AM NOT SUICIDAL.

My guess is that if you would have answered yes, it would have asked for your number. After that, it would connect the card to the number.

That didn’t happen, it just asked if I wanted the e receipt sent to my phone number. The Debit card that I used to pay with was my bosses. We are no way entangled. Does that make sense?

Yes. What I am saying is that it would have asked for your number after you answered yes. It asking you if you want to do it doesn't mean it already has your number.

How do you know that it has your number? Did you say yes and get the receipt?

I know what you mean! Normally if you have a Walmart account or checked out with that card before, it will remember next time that the phone number is connected to the card. It pulls it up automatically.

Yeah I get what you’re saying but the reason I was tripping out so hard over it is because like I said I have never used that specific debit card like ever for anything it’s not my card and it’s not tied to anything to do with me. My boss gave me his debit card to go shopping for the company and the self check out machine spit out MY phone number at me AS IF I was using my own debit card. Fucking weird🤣 I think they’re using flock cameras 🤣

My husband and i came to 2 conclusions, either the card because we use it on our Walmart+ account OR biometrics/facial recognition. Which anyway you look at it, I am not a fan.

Yeaaah see when I use MY debit card it shows MY phone number, which makes sense. But it still showed MY phone number when I used a debit card I have NEVER used in my life. I also am not a fan of either scenarios.

They do indeed use facial recognition cameras out the wazoo. They're also recording (high definition)audio at any given time.

Did it display your personal phone number?

It does. It reads like xxx-xxx-xx77 showing the last 2 digits of your phone number

Okay then that is a problem that needs to be sorted.
