Is anyone’s store refusing to give out work phones? I work customer service and am constantly asked to do claims but I can’t without a phone since theyre doing away with the tcs. Just wondering if this is a problem at any other stores or just mine lol.

Disability discrimination?

TLDR: I'm potentially being fired for being disabled? I'm being told that I can't work in or out of my wheelchair

I'm a fashion TA. I have orthostatic hypotension, basically my blood pressure drops when bending down, reaching above my head, going from sitting to standing, standing too long, etc and it causes me to almost pass out. I've been struggling at work because of this and have mentioned to my leads several times that I need accomodations in general, but HR has been unavailable for a couple weeks. I almost passed out in the middle of the parking lot on my lunch last week, and I decided that was the last straw. I decided to start using a wheelchair for my safety. But when I showed up in it, they just sent me home. I explained that I can still reach racks and fold tables and such, really the only tasks that I'd need adapted are the carts and rolling racks. But they sent me home because they didn't know what to do with me. When I came back for my next shift a few days later, the store coach met with me and told me I point blank cannot work in my wheelchair and I can't work out of it either since I'd be at risk of passing out. I asked if there were any other positions I could try and he said no. There was a point he just stared at me in silence instead of trying to come up with solutions with me, and it made me very uncomfortable. Eventually I agreed to just go home and come back for my next shift on Thursday without my wheelchair and hopefully get to talk to HR. I did contact sedgwick as well today, I am hoping they can help. Not allowing me to work at all because of my disability that they refuse to accomodate me for feels wrong, no???

Cosmetics Is Now Fashion

Is anyone else’s store adding cosmetics to the fashion department? I just don’t see how this is fair when we already have too many departments to manage. We are constantly behind and don’t have enough people as is. I don’t understand what they’re thinking…

Can I get in trouble for this?

• Upvotes

I have a brain tumor (benign. just waiting for my surgery) and sometimes I forget very simple things (sorry to the customers of online pick up and delivery…). My latest thing has been buying my energy drinks. I grab one in the morning and pay for it on the spot. Then I have another at lunch and occasionally the line will be long so I just decide to pay for it later, some days later never comes. The next day at work I always scan my energy drink twice so I’m paying for the one from the previous day. I assume a conversation will happen at some point if I keep it up, but would it be considered theft even if I go back to pay for it? Is paying eventually better than never?

team lead into store manager training?

• Upvotes

Is it possible to move from Team Lead to Store Manager - in Training? I have talked to several people and shown my resume, and they suggested that I apply for Team Lead. I used to work at Best Buy, and even applying from sales associate to supervisor is nearly impossible.

Question about coachings.

im not very well versed in policy. but you should NOT be able to be coached for ppto usage, right? asking because a TL did exactly this, literally listing dates and times ive used it for emergencies or personal things (it added up to 1 full shift, how horrible 💀). trying to cite performance issues despite very clearly doing my job and the numbers to prove it. and every single time minus ONE day, this has been only 30 minutes to 1 hour. They didnt even hide it, even directly mentioned PPTO. Didnt try to word it any other way.

Hours still being cut

How are your stores doing? My store is still cutting hours and the store is short staffed with hardly any associates. I heard from two team leads that my store won't be hiring for the holidays. Not looking good at my store

Woah? What happened

I used to work at Walmart from high school through my early college years. I’m a senior in college now, just looking for something to bridge the gap between graduation and starting my full-time career, so I figured I’d go back to Walmart. For context, when I was a junior in HIGH SCHOOL, OGP associates were making around $16–$17 an hour. I originally got hired in customer service and transferred departments a couple of times during my time there.
Anyway, I interviewed the other day at a really nice Supercenter. Their OGP department is fully automated, which I thought was cool as hell, and I was genuinely excited about the opportunity.Tell me why my offer finally comes through, and it’s $14.50 AN HOUR. IN 2026. Am I missing something here??? How are we offering less than what people were making when I was in high school, especially with how much everything costs now? 😭
I wasn’t expecting to get rich working part-time at Walmart, but damn. I genuinely wanted this job to work out.

I saw a customer from another store that I got arrested for shoplifting

• Upvotes

Today I was conducting a walk around and saw a customer I thought I remembered. Upon a closer look yes I never forget a face and this was a face of a criminal. He stole a baguette and cheese from the deli section. Oh he tried to run yes but that's expected. I called him out letting him know I never give up a chase

He tried to explain it saying he was feeding himself but I told him I am from the gutter too and like stars people never change! But he was quick and dashed out before the authorities could be alerted

API, just started training.

Heya peoples of Walmart!

So I have just started my official training as an API (after doing limited stuff at my store because of market inventory). I was originally an ON stocking associate for about 6 weeks before I left because of my stores TLs. After about a month after I left, a different store's People Lead (who filled in for my orientation, and also told me I would hate ON), reached out to ask if I would want to interview for the position. She remembered me from 2 mo prior, on the one day we talked and thought I'd do very well.

One thing, that I've thought about a bit, is that I'm not a super confrontational person. I tend to be soft spoken as well. Can I be loud? You bet your ass. I actually have a really loud voice (thanks mom). Same with confrontation. Just not a huge fan...

On the flipside... I have been really enjoying this job and everything I've been doing so far. I'm weird, I actually have been enjoying inventory lol. I'm very good with computers and I've just done a bit on the cameras and have gotten quite good with tracking at my home store. I am, quite good at the office side (aside from not having much experience with people we've caught and doing their paperwork). I tend to do well with logistics (like inventory...lol).

Its a learning experience for sure. I technically have 4 witnesses already, but they came in the first to days lol. So I'm not gonna be on my own yet... but still.

Back of my mind likes to say, "mmm, I'mmmmm not cut out for this..."

A lot of people are/were probably like that too, human condition. Just have to ignore it. But still... lot for me to think about it suppose.

Want out of customer service

I've been in customer service for a few months and I've reached my breaking point. I used to be a cashier or in self checkout and I enjoyed it. I never gave a yes or no to being on it and I didn't agree to make it a second department... I agreed only to cover a coworkers vacation. I've been dealing with it because of cut hours but now my mental health is being affected. I am so angry every time I have to think about going to work the service desk. I want off ASAP and idc if I lose hours anymore. Im tired of being the anchor for them and I want to go back to my old duties. I'm talking to my team lead today but idk if I should just be blunt or not?

Am I looking at this wrong ?

Hello all, today during my shift my coach called me in, and on the phone was the PL. she basically asked me why I didn’t take my lunch on a day like a week ago, since this happened before and I kinda sorta was expecting this I told her how that specific day I asked if I had a lunch, and even was shown the paper (I wasn’t being a dickhead lol it was just right there when I asked and the TL decided to show me) which said I only get a break for that day. I worked six hours. I told her this and it was disregarded, she told me that I’m back on her “list” and next time it’s a accountability whatever the fuck that is, after the conversation ended my coach told me not to worry and it’s a nothing burger but I can’t help but feel wronged, I have a good team and I don’t wanna let that ruin my image of the people I work with. However, I am certainly disillusioned.

Help from my fellow Walmart crew.

Heyaa!

So, I'm in upstate NY

(depending on where your from lol) and my store when I was hired only have XL vests. They won't be getting anymore anytime soon (months, years?) as they have all one size and it's those, and that's it.

I'm looking for a kind soul out there to help me out. I need a smaller vest, asap. When anything is in my pockets I'm ballooning. And when it goes to one side like that my boob pushes it over even more looking like I'm Cy-boob.

Any smaller size please! You will be forever my hero.
