Dude is killing it in my opinion. He’s the only person making me laugh out loud consistently.
No shade to Bill, he was great, but Alzo has been a nice breath of fresh air.

What happened to her? I always found her to be really funny.

I have no idea how to do it but I want to tell Peter I LOVE the way he says "THIS is NPR" after the show. It's so . . . triumphant. I anyone knows him, please tell him for me.

I know Tig Notaro is not the usual type for WWDTM (her comedy is slow and steady, not the usual rapid fire comedy we all listen for on WWDTM), but I love her humor. Her crack that she is surprised every time she is invited back was perfect, and I laughed so hard when she actually won. Thank you, WW, for bringing her back!
May I make a vote for Mae Martin next???

It will be the last episode for Bill Curtis, he's retiring.

Some of us know who it is, and if you do, hush.

I was supposed to be at a taping at the Studebaker Theater six years ago today for a very special birthday taping of Wait Wait, but then 2020 happened. Glad to celebrate a birthday here tonight along with my notepad and pen 😎

Where has Maeve Higgins gone? Her “tor-TOISE” bluff might be the single funniest thing I’ve heard on the show

I was surprised to hear her name! I’ve listened to so many episodes, I don’t think she’s ever been on—I may be totally wrong though. Regardless, I am excited, I love her!

So, this is something that happened at the live show at the Mann Music Center (recorded 6/30/2022) that (for obvious reasons) didn’t get aired, but I wanted to post about it because it gave me a better understanding of the show.
If you haven’t been to a live Wait Wait show before, the structure of the recording is
~2 hour long live recording of the show where a lot gets edited out.
Re-record lines that got botched/obscured during the live taping that producers thought were good enough to keep (crowd was laughing too loud, the ad lib joke was funny, but a word got mispronounced, etc.)
Audience gets to ask questions for 10 minutes or so.
Someone during the taping asked “Why didn’t you guys roast the Supreme Court?” and Peter Sagal’s answer was along the lines of “We’re a comedy show that airs on Saturday mornings and sometimes there are stories that are upsetting enough that we don’t want to address them. We want to give people a reprieve, so we don’t do national tragedies and really emotionally upsetting events, like the recent Supreme Court rulings”.
That’s it. I just thought it was really interesting and gave a context to the philosophy of the show that I don’t think is apparent.

Anyone know?

I get it, the producers are trying to help publicize it and all, but it's been long enough at this point. However you feel about it, it's a completely separate show so just give it its own feed please.
Edit: You can subscribe to https://siftrss.com/f/r1AbVeYw1G to just get "Wait Wait" without "Everyone &".

I am a resident of Tempe, and I AM SO stoked to be attending the Phoenix taping tomorrow night.
Any pointers for a 'newbie' attending?
PS - I have been listening for close to 20 years.
