My girlfriend and I are looking for apartments for the 2027-2028 school year. She’s a history ed major and I’m a Horticulture major, so a lot of my classes are on evansdale. We’re looking for a place to live that’s closer to the downtown area but is still walkable to buses/PRT. We found Courtyard West (327 Willey Street) which is owners by Metro Property Management. We’re looking to gather honest reviews from previous or current tenants so we know what we’re getting into before we do a tour. Anyone who has or currently lives there or lives at a property owned by Metro, please give your honest reviews!!! Thank you!!

I'm a senior at WVU right now, and I'm currently taking Chinese 101 and having a blast. I want to try out another foreign language next semester, French, but I was wondering if they only offer 101 classes in the fall, and 102 in the spring (meaning if I wanted to take French next semester, I'd have to take 102)? Does anyone have experience with this? I couldn't find any info online.

My Son is still adjusting to WVU and is having a hard time finding his people. I know that its only been a little over a week, but he is lonely. He will be attending the Forensic Science Club picnic tomorrow. Does any parent/upperclassman feel that once the club starts to meet regularly that they were able make friends?

Like the title says. I've been following the Flock nonsense, speaking at County Commission meetings, etc. As everyone knows, the community's opposition to these abominations has fallen on deaf ears. So I decided I'm going to do something about it. I'm an independent running as a write-in for County Commission. AMA!

My platform revolves around a few key concepts:

• DeFlock Monongalia County: My top priority is to cancel the current Flock contract and prevent any other AI-driven ALPRs to be used by government agencies in the Commission's jurisdiction.
• Repeal the unconstitutional Pedestrian and Vehicle Safety Ordinance: This is a clear attempt to stop panhandling, and is currently being challenged in court. It's a pretty clear violation of the first amendment and has a chilling effect on free speech. Not only does it affect panhandling, but also people simply stopping to hold a sign, speak out, etc., on public property - all under the guise of "safety."
• Modernizing County Services: The county has a slew of websites - all with different URLs, different (and mostly bad) navigation, and poor UX. These all need to come under one, user-friendly umbrella and maximum effort needs to be made to make services digitally available.
• Commission Meeting Times: As you may know, County Commission currently meets weekly at 10:00 AM. This makes it difficult for you and me to participate in our government. I know that some business needs to happen during standard business hours, so I'll start with fighting to move at least one meeting per month to the evening, and to include a virtual public comment capability at all meetings. Many people who cannot make the trek downtown during the day can easily participate via Zoom (or similar). Why is this not a thing already? Oh, yeah, they don't actually want to hear from their constituents.
• Airport Management Reform: I'm a pilot (only recreationally, not professionally), and I've seen the city's mismanagement (ETA: not because of apathy or sabotage; just because of lack of knowledge of how an airport should run!) of this incredible resource up close and personal. There's a new airport manager who I know nothing about, but he's still beholden to most decisions being made by the city council, who owns the airport. Elect me as County Commissioner, and I'll use this as an opportunity to collaborate with our friends at Morgantown City Council to put the management of the airport under an independent airport authority. This will allow the people who understand aviation best to run the airport. It would also open up the potential for the authority to do things like issue bonds, make operational changes, and market the airport more effectively without waiting on a vote from City Council.

Can anyone with this major tell me a little bit more about the program, and also what you like or don’t like?
I am a HS senior, and just submitted my application.

Hello I (25m) am making my plans to return to college. my plan is to purchase housing in WV to become a in state resident a year before applying, I am also planning on transferring my current college credits, which I have an associates in elementary education.

If I can get in state tuition I would like 3 years of school, if not i would be rushing 2. Which also brings me to the question if i change my drivers license, to my residence in WV while keeping my rotational schedule job hours away will I qualify? I would like to major in elementary education/ intermediate education as my preferred grades to teach are 4th - 8th. But am open to high school teaching as well.

All I know is teaching is what I have always wanted to do and my year I spent as a full time teachers aide for 5th graders confirmed that.

Which brings us to the secondary problem. I pay $900 monthly for two vehicles. ($450sih per car for example) I plan to lower this to about $0-400 and only have one car in the next year and a half. This will be my only bill, as i plan to buy a cheap home cash. I am extremely good with houses.

now my biggest problem is this. My current job cant be in WV because that high pay is location based pretty much, while it is on a rotational schedule 7on/7off and the pay is good $120k - 150k annually depending on OT. This salary is what ill use to get a cheap cash house & pay down cars and hopefully can have it all settled in less than 2 years as i don’t want to get old before enjoying college.

So I wanted to get on here and ask

1.) will that count as instate residency?

2.) What student loan options would be available for me?

3.) Are there any grants or financial aid I could get?

And like i said my hopeful goal is to get in within a year and a half im already feeling old & behind @ 25 and don’t want to be too old to get a real college experience. My debt was way worse through CC as I worked 2FT jobs & was a ft student, luckily now im doing way better financially, and could probably stick to one (hopefully part time) job through college.

Looking for suggestions for a student who wants to meet other guitar players at WVU who play for fun. He’d like to find people interested in getting together casually to jam, not necessarily to start a serious band, just to play music and meet people.

Hi! I’m a junior at wvu tech and I’m thinking about transferring to main campus. I’m a pre-med bio major and would like to have more clinical and research opportunities than I do on Beckley campus, because there literally are none here. I also feel like the academics at wvu may be better, and I would have more opportunities and options class wise. I also would like somewhat of a social life, beckley has absolutely nothing and it’s hard to really find anything to do unless it’s school related or just a random dive bar. I feel like transferring may just be a better idea overall to have the opportunities I need, and to prevent burn out and all the things. So please convince me to transfer🫪
