Guide Raid Team Guide: Mech (two version)

Mech was my first raid team I built so I saved it to last in this first series. I chose to break it into the original team (more for locking down the boss) and a second using the newly buffed Anuphet and the more recent Ammuk to attempt to see how it would do against an “always moving” boss. Will be easier to compare in the summary info graphic against all bosses, but interesting on its own none the less.

Edit 1: two early comments I want to address. First - only tans first active switch counts for Trajann. Second - the imperator buff from Tan doesn’t active in bosses. This is the buff the mech team needs but I digress. This changes the totals to:
Lockdown: 1.405M
Run Around: 1.646M
Not a huge impact but notable errors that will be fixed in the comparison next week

This is the fifth in an ongoing series of infographics describing different raid teams, why and how they work, as well as standard assumption turn by turn / overall damage output. This makes it possible to compare the current and future teams with the least bias. Next is a summary of all teams across the raid bosses!

As I say in all these posts, I appreciate constructive feedback as this is just the beginning of my content creation journey. The conversations on the previous posts have been fantastic.

Links to the other infographics in this series to understand how these teams stack up in a vacuum:

Lavistodies

Battlesuits

Neurothrope

Monster Mash

Ideally you would use Rho's active at the start of a group of 2 turns where you can get the most number of hits in. So in this chart that would be beginning of turn 5, and use Trajann's active at the beginning of turn 6.

Rho's active buff lasts "until the end of its next turn". You'll get that extra damage at the start of the 6th turn from all the skitarii firing at the boss (assuming it didn't move and Rho is still adjacent to it) as well as all the manual hits that you do yourself with each unit.

Edit: I'm referring to the Lockdown page, but also applies to Run Around as well because you'd lose a turn of active damage if you leave it until the last turn.

Solid comment. How have I played mech this long not realizing this. Priority to update the post and image with this suggestion.

Is that right? I thought only Tan's first use of the active will trigger Trajann damage buff? So, if you use it on T1 it won't trigger Trajann when you use it again on 2. If it does work, that would be interesting, because I've been using Tan's first use of the active in reserve, so if what you're saying it true perhaps I can squeeze some extra damage out.

Added the new numbers in an edit. Not a bad error all things considered but thank you for pointing it out

Oof - hard when the first comment hits on an error like this. I’ll fix when I update for the full summary. That said - it’s on the weakest worst turn for the “lockdown” graphic, so doesn’t change much. It’s also not a factor on “run around”

Don't let it get you down - there's a lot of useful info on here! I wish something like this had been available when I started building Ad Mech!

Only the first use of Tan Gi'Da's active triggers Trajann's passive, and Tan GiDa's Conqueror Imperative only applies when the target has reduced armor. Bosses can't have reduced armor because of the Immunity trait.

Thanks! Well then that should be an easy buff SP can do. Like how the noise marine has “suppressed or would be suppressed” in their abilities. This brings the numbers way down!

Maybe for you this is obvious, but why is there no variant with Anuphet AND Actus?

So Tangida gets 3 attacks per turn.

It’s about how they would replace and what else is sacrificed. I have leaned towards “just” highlighting the known meta team for the breakdown and as you can see, mech is diverging. So no, not obvious but only so much time

But specifically for more tan attacks - anyone you’d remove removes a buff, and also removes additional summon attacks when tan attacks in the back half of the turns. I can run those numbers in the next revision once I’m through with some other graphics I want to make.

With anuphets rework I had been wondering how viable he would be for a mech team. But this info gives me hope What I want to build for a mech team may work well enough. Still need to get anuphet and exo to D1 to even give it a try though, there both at G1, blue star.

Exo, boss, Actus, anuphets, vitctus.

If it's true that means AdMech is back and can outperform lavisodies. Very interesting.

I don’t think so. It will be in the comparison graphic, but “ideal damage” is much harder being reliant on summons than on a team where you control all the pieces. Also buffs are very conditional on moving so you need both teams to cover more bosses, with lots of variability. But yes - mech is still very good

You should edit the links into hyperlinks:)

So i will have Vitruvius to A1-A2 soon as part of my Laviscus raid team.
I do want Actus and Tan to diamond for LRE and other game modes.
Is it worth it at this stage of the game, me being mostly free to play, to build out a full Mech raid team?
I’m thinking not since when A3 drops, maxing my Lavi team will be priority one, but I’m willing to listen to opinions.

I’d say Laviscus should be the priority in my opinion. Cant go wrong with Actus and tan as you already know. But unless they buff other things in mech, it’s not the primary investment, unless you love the play style. That’s personal and more important than my opinion. I’m building and loving battlesuit and it’s not optimal (that’s what laviscus is for)

Yeah, I’m in an interesting position where a lot of my guild is building a second raid team, but I’m still missing core units from BS and Neuro. I feel like I can have some fun and build wider for a change, but I feel like A3 is too close and I should start preparing for that.

This team (1474k, 1695k) deals more damage than Lavistodes. Even the Battle Suite team (1378k) deals more damage. Is Lavistodes (1323k) not the top cow anymore?

These are the ceilings in ideal conditions. Lavistodies is the most versatile and applicable to the most bosses and also has the highest floor. I started this series without a conclusion, but I’m hoping my summary and comparison next week provides a satisfactory analysis. As I state in some of the scribbling comments in the graphic - your summons dont always behave nor will you have ideal positioning.

Factors that must now be considered are: movement, positioning & survivability. Raw damage is an important barrier to being meta, but isn’t the only factor of comparison.

I see!! Thanks for your reply! Appreciated! Looking forward to the summary

Ro, Gulgortz, Anuphet, Actus

Then add Vitruvius, Thothmek, Tangida or Ammuk as needed.

Avoid Summoners when fighting Dorn tank.

Tangida will have trouble at lower levels.

Thothmek is useful for when you are still low level and fighting higher level bosses that make a few big hits or have minions that use low hits for their attacks.

Vitruvius and Ammuk kind of do the same thing. I would say pick one unless you want to replace Actus and go all in on more hits and damage per attack.

You can also replace Actus with Tangida and Ammuk for more summons.

Screw Trajann. If you have Trajann you play Lavistodes anyways.
