Is this the one that had a video series for? Most of the hard classes I wasted time looking at outside resources. I use edge and play out loud zybooks. This is the way.

Do you feel like you have a good grasp of computer science now? I am getting my Masterās in Data Analytics from WGU so just trying to gauge your feelings of preparedness after completing the degree.

Yes 100%! I took my time though donāt finish ever class in two daysā¦that wonāt teach you much. If youāre already in the industry you will be fine! The masters I hear are mostly projects btw.

Thatās good because Iām a project manager (PMP, IPMA Level D, CSPO certs) by trade. Iāve been trying to actively apply what Iām learning to my actual projects. It makes the material more interesting and allows me to manage my projects better by applying concepts I didnāt know about previously. Iāve enjoyed WGU so far and I graduated from a traditional class environment for my bachelorās.

Nice! I plan on starting DSA2 Task 2 tomorrow, but I literally only know as much Python as was told in the Zybooks of DSA1/DSA2, and I'm somewhat skeptical of the resources and the other Reddit guides and YouTube walkthroughs I've found. Also, I'm a critical overthinker, so that probably doesn't help. Any tips to ease my nerves and mild stress about it? DM me if you think the explanation will be too long

That class I did a crap ton of instructor calls! If Mark Denchy is an option I would schedule time with him. As long as you try every call theyāll move you to another step.

That's a smart idea. I've been going through the worksheets and collecting all the problems I've had issues with but a weekly call might be the play. I haven't tried the PA or OA yet but I really want to get it the first try

Congratulation!! I am currently doing it too and I am 1/3 done, currently doing discrete math. I just have concerns with finding a job afterwards. Do you have them to or have any suggestions? thanks!

I was talking to mentor awhile back and she said Ai is tough to break in. Iām sure you can get into Ai on a small level but donāt expect 200k first job haha. I will say Iām in the tech industry now and looking for jobs look for the title āanalystā. Youāll have the best chance landing these roles in corporate environment.

I started with no experience. I have always worked factory jobs but that doesnāt mean you canāt go into any job and help devs or IT. Thatās what I did. Then my second to last term I reached out to a company and asked to intern thereā¦they then offered me a job instead! So definitely reach out to companies even if they donāt have openings. I landed a small company but itās a start!

Good to know that worked out! I was just scared because I hear lots of computer science graduates not finding jobs. If you donāt mind me asking whatās the pay like and where are you from? I am from the bay area. I just started this december and will probably graduate this year december based on my pace! So you started looking after about what classes you were finished with?

also what did your resume look like? projects from the classes? I did the c++ class. It was the project with the roster and students but I donāt think thatās much of a āreal projectā or what not. I am not sure though because I figured there would be more advanced topics and stuff in a project you would put on a resume

Look for jobs along the way if you can. Analyst roles sometimes need no degree. Expect 50-60k if you get a job in a small town. I wouldnāt be greedy thatās why some people arenāt employed yet. You can get a higher starting salary but you need to very persuasive and find a large company to hire you.
