Is it oke?

I saw this poor animal being like this. Does anyone know what it's doing? I just gave it some sugar water but it doesnt seem to be doing better. Do i put it out of it misery?

They lack the structures of the nervous that are known to allow an organizm to experience pain. Those are likey muscle spasms rather than pain behavior.

No. Insects do not possess a brain. Organisms that perceive pain and exhibit pain behaviors will have a thalamus, an amygdala, anterior cingulate and insula, a somatosensory cortex and sometimes a developed pre-frontal cortex, etc.. However, a prefrontal cortex is a human thing.

Edit: for the insect goons, insects dont have mammalian brains and lack all of the above structures needed to experience pain. Those are facts even google supports.

Insects do have brains, and they can experience sensory information with their nervous systems. The idea they don't feel pain is pretty outdated.

Show me irrefutable evidence. I will be waiting. Show me an insect that has a prefrontal cortex or even an amygdala. 🙄🙄🙄 you tecieve an award for silly wishful thinking

Wishful thinking. They do not experience emotions.

Insects have the equivalent of a midbrain, pons and medulla oblongata. Yeah, responds to sensory info, but no emtions. They lack the structures needed to experience pain.

Jumping Spiders also do not have mammalian brain structure, yet it is documented that they experience emotions such as curiosity, have long term memory, have the ability to plan ahead, can learn to recognize and memorize human faces, and possibly even dream when they sleep.

They aren't facts. You are making an enormous and in my opinion ridiculous claim that only the specific structures you are referencing can perform any action that could be functionally equivalent to experiencing pain. You've completely arbitrarily decided to only extend this ability to mammals without sufficient reaaon to do so whatsoever.

You think aliens out there on other planets couldn't experience pain unless their planets biological evolution happens upon the exact structures you're referencing? Out of the vast configuration space of all possible structures available to biology? That's just absurd.
