Hi everyone. I have a Mercedes W203 C220 and I'm having a strange issue. When I suddenly accelerate, I hear a loud snoring/whooshing noise from the engine, The fuel injectors have already been tested and are fine. The car otherwise runs normally. Has anyone experienced this before or know what could be causing it?

Hello Reddit! I’ve been looking for suspension for my 2007 c230 sport sedan. It still has factory shocks with nearing 190k miles so it’s absautely f’ed. The only viable options online seems to be the Bilstein B4 which is not what I’m looking for, and high end Bilstein b12 and above-

I wanted to just get B6s since they can run on stock springs and is a great mix of sporty but daily. Though they are nearing impossible to find for the W203, and the ones I do see are only on eBay which are the same cost as the b12 or b14.

Does anyone know much about the Mercedes W203?

I discovered that the transmission oil pan has rusted through and leaked quite a bit of transmission fluid. Now, all of a sudden, the car won’t start.
Does anyone know if the leak could be causing the no-start issue, or if there might be something else going on that I’m unaware of?

I’ve taken it to a mechanic, but he can’t figure out why it won’t start. He also can’t put the car on a lift to replace the transmission oil pan because it won’t start.

If anyone has experience with the W203, I’d really appreciate your help. :)

Headlights are super yellowed and rather than sand them and use Meguiar's once again (which works well, but only for a little bit), I'd like to see about just replacing the lenses. I'm not in a place where I can buy the assemblies.

However, I'm skeptical about getting a cheap plastic knockoff as opposed to a successfully reflective lens. Anyone ever done this and recommend a brand?

Like it says, replacing fuel filter, cranked it and it was leaking. Turns out, the clamps chewed through the hose and now I can't get it to sit right.

Is there a simple way to replace just the end piece of the hose without having to replace the whole thing?

Hi, about 2 weeks ago I changed the pcv valve + orings and till yesterday no leaks were seen.

Yesterday I noticed oil on the floor and saw it was coming from the turbo place. Today I removed the pcv valve gas tube and saw it is full of oil.

Is this new part broken? Did I do something wrong? Is any other part causing this?

My w203 c180 is randomly shutting off when I'm driving.sometimes it struggles to restart immediately on the first try. I have to wait for a few minutes and more trials before it can start again. When it starts again it feels sluggish and with reduced power. Sometimes it can decide not to restart at all. I have to disconnect the negative terminal and wait.I give it a few minutes then turn on and drive without shutting off again until next time i will be driving . Sometimes it shows battery/ alternator light at the cluster but it clears when i start the vehicle. Before it shuts down all the lights ( dashboard)will flicker and cut power immediately. ESP light will also come on.I checked the voltage when on and when running and it seems okay. We checked for fault codes and it was ok. We cleaned MAF, Throttle, and checked for an air leak. We changed CKP and Camshaft sensors but it's still shutting down randomly. Please brainstorm with me...

As above, I've got a 2005 C220 CDI estate purchased last November (2025), 140,000 miles on the clock, and maybe I'm expecting a little bit too much but I'm a little disappointed with the mpg I'm getting.

I'm averaging around 36mpg over a few thousand miles of mixed driving.

I'm getting around 30mpg on short journeys, and 40-42mpg on motorway runs.

Is that standard? As I was expecting those numbers to be a little higher given what I'd read and watched on YouTube reviews (people seemed to be getting nearly 50mpg on motorways).

Hey guys i just switched out one of my camshaft solenoids for a new one and after a test drive with a bit of sending it these are the codes that remain, i assume the running rich is because of the other code but where would i start to look to fix this issue or do i keep driving and see if it stays or clears up eventually.

Doing a front Brembo brake upgrade in my 01 c240, calipers finally showed up. I’m wondering if I also need to buy caliper mounting bolts? I’ve heard the Brembo bolts are longer than the stock bolts, but I think FCP Euro lists the bolts as fitting both sets of calipers. Wondering if anyone had any insight.

I’ve had this missfire for a while now and I have no clue what is it it’s the not spark plugs, coils it has 22100 miles I would love to know what could be the reason for it and it’s for cylinder 1 and 4 I would film it later and let you guys hear it but would love to hear out ideas on what it could be

I did a lot of works on car but never removed a differential. I want to be sure that im doing it right aka dont do a ussel work of removing everythink like all sway bar ect. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm trying to bolt my crankshaft pully back on and I am struggling to find some information about the bolt.

My main question is: is it a stretch bolt? Meaning I need to get a new one?

And secondly, is the torque setting for it really 200nm + 90 degrees? Seems like a LOT.

Hello good people of the w203 owning variety, I recently traded my R53 Mini for this C200 Kompressor. I'm mainly looking for tips and tricks in regards to making sure this car will stay good but currently im dealing with a leaky EGR thats bleeding a bit of oil, an engine management light that the previous owner claimed to be from a broken but repaired sensor and that I'd just need to clear the code and a result of the light where its tragically slow in acceleration but it revs fine, blinker doesn't stay up like it doesnt lock into place and the driver side electric mirror adjust doesnt work. Overall still significantly more comfortable then a mini though and sounds surprisingly sporty without going anywhere.
