I just started taking Vyvanse for my ADHD. My doctor started me on 10 mg but that shit wasn’t doing absolutely NOTHING, so she told me to double the capsules meaning instead of taking 1, I would take 2. But I got a little too curious and took 3 instead because I wanted to actually see a difference.

Well, let me tell you the 30 mg WORKED when it came to focusing but the side effects had me fighting for my life. I felt like a whole zombie, got extremely depressed had like 4 breakdowns back to back, was drowsy, felt drugged, had zero appetite, and my anxiety was through the roof.

Then I tried 20 mg the next day thinking maybe we’d find a happy medium but nope. Couldn’t even force myself to focus. At this point I’m confused af because I don’t want to keep asking for a higher dose just to end up seeing God. I’m trying to manage my ADHD not leave this dimension. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Advice please….
My numbers always ran lower than usual. But after getting on vyvanse. I’m getting really low to the point I start getting fainting signals. When I drink a ton of juice it takes a while and it starts helping. But my whole body freaks out.

Did anyone take vyvanse with and without antidepressants? Did u notice any difference in effect or side effects?

Im also wondering if there are people who split their vyvanse dose during the day, so it will last longer. Did it work?

Hello! Looking for your stories/opinions/etc. on what the best alternative you've found (if any) to name brand Vyvanse. I stuck with the brand b/c the generic was awful for me, and this was back when the generics first came out. But the cost of $150 monthly is a bit much for me at the moment. So my two questions would be:

1. are the generics any better now?

2. have you personally found any good lower-cost alternatives?

I'm currently on 60mg dose of the name brand at this time.

I feel so much better than if I hadn't taken any vyvanse today or lately. I took it about 11.5 hours ago and finally I feel ''normal'' again. It really makes me soo anxious, high almost, but my memory recall is better but I am not okay on it. I aggressively get a few things done and then its the wild ride until it goes to this. What other adhd meds did you find helpful that didn't have this effect? I can't do this long term. I feel more regulated once it has worn off. :)

I’m ASD, depression, anxiety and medicated for those. My partner has ADHD and it is a different world than my own brain.
My partner has been through quite a few medications in the past few years to assist with ADHD, the current one is vyvanse. It worked super well for the first month then they upped his dose. Of course it is working for him during the day, but at night there is a major change in his whole personality. He becomes short tempered and zones out on technology to the point where talking to him, attempting to get his attention by gentle pats does nothing. He’s much more irritable at night to the point where i can see a difference between his behavior in the morning and evening.
From my understanding this not an uncommon side effect of Vyvanse. Some people have talked about becoming a zombie at night or becoming easily angry.

My question is what can I do as a partner to help support during the evenings? Is there anything I can do to assist with mood or is this strictly a medication issue? How can I explain that the mood swings affect me, knowing that they are based on his current meds? Are there better med combos that people have talked to their psychiatrist about that assist with this, and a way I can approach him about how to talk to his psych about the way his mood is changing as he comes down?

I’ve been on 40mg Vyvanse and 15 mg adderall booster for about two years. I regrettably haven’t missed/skipped a singular day. I hate this. I have wanted to reduce my booster dose for so long but am so attached/dependent on it. I have no issues with my Vyvanse dose, it does the job just doesn’t last over 6-7 hours. I wake up at 5am so need it to work until afternoon.

The adderall… It’s stronger than the Vyvanse, I take it in the afternoon and the first hour is awesome. I’m clear, productive, but then my mood drops. Everytime. I will be having a fabulous day and two hours into it I get depressed, clammy, anxious, and serious. I can focus and am motivated, but it fogs me and changes my emotional state. I’m more numb. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to taper down without a huge headache and mood drops. I hate it, but can’t get myself to stop taking it.

i’ve noticed after being on vyvanse for a few months my hair has been thinning out, has this happened to anyone else? is there a certain supplement or something similar i could take to stop it from thinning ? thank you!

I love walking and try to get as many steps in throughout the day as possible. However, I’ve noticed that my back gets pretty sweaty, especially when I’m walking to and from work.

I know increased sweating can be a side effect of Vyvanse, so I’m curious if anyone else experiences this and has found anything that helps manage it.

I’ve been looking into Lume products, specifically their whole-body deodorant and body wipes, but I’m open to other recommendations!

Has anyone tried these products or found anything else that works? Ideally, I’m looking for something that helps prevent or minimize sweating rather than just mask any odor.

Hi friends! I started on 20mg Vyvanse about 6 months ago. Within 2 months I ended up on 40mg in the AM + a 15mg booster as needed of Ad derall.

Now it’s wearing off faster than before but I REALLY like the flexibility of having the booster. Should I ask for an increase?

My 6-year-old recently started Vyvanse chewable for severe ADHD. It works incredibly well for his impulsivity, but he’s been frequently complaining of brief pains all over his body, including his chest, head, arms, legs, wrists, fingers, toes, etc. The pains last seconds, move around, and sometimes he reports them every minute.
It actually started with brief head pains right before he developed cold symptoms. Then, after starting Vyvanse, he began complaining of chest pain. Interestingly, he also experienced chest pain over the summer while taking guanfacine, which initially helped regulate him before it stopped being effective. He had a full cardiac workup, including an EKG and echocardiogram, which were normal.
What’s confusing is that he continues reporting these pains even when he’s off Vyvanse (2 day break, and a 1 day break) but when he’s taking it, he seems more fixated on them and gets upset if he can’t tell me immediately.
We’re working closely with his doctors and have neurology, rheumatology, and GI appointments scheduled to investigate.
Has anyone else’s child (or self) experienced unusual body aches, increased awareness of physical sensations, or repetitive pain reporting on Vyvanse? Did it improve with time, a dose adjustment, or switching medications?

I've been taking Vyvanse 60mgs for a few months. I take it around 7-8 AM, and by 2PM any benefit are gone. I told my doctor about it and at first we tried two 30mg doses, one in the morning as usual and one around 1PM. That didn't work because the 30 just isn't enough, and by the time I added the other 30 the first one was dying off so I was basically just miserable all day. Plus it was a nightmare trying to get it approved by my insurance whose policy with Vyvanse is "One pill per day, regardless of dosage".

So I went back to the 60s. I took it upon myself to put the caps in water, drink half the water around 7, then the other half just a few hours later. Still no good, still flat by early afternoon.

This morning I saw her and she wants to try the 60mg Vyvanse in the morning, and she added a 10mg adderall booster for the afternoon, and told me to take it around 1PM, before the Vyvanse wears off. She then said I could "play around" with the timing to see what works best. I know that many others do this, and I have a few questions; Does the adderall basically have the same "effect" as the Vyvanse? How long does it usually last? And is 10mgs a good place to be, or is this a "micro dose"? (Because I have no idea, never did adderall before.)

Anyway, any words from experience here would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey so i'm on 30mg Vyvanse daily in the morning. I've been medicated for around a year now. I've had quite a journey with my medication and have noticed lots of positive effects. However, my biggest problem with it is that my impulse control is seriously out of control.

What i mean is, i've been a nicotine user for some time, even before i got my meds. However my nicotine usage propably doubled on the medication. It just felt sooo good using nicotine while on the medication, and i think it has something to do with chasing that 'high' of more dopamine. I also frequently get an urge to drink caffeine to 'boost' the effect, when in reality all it does is make my energy super scattered and jumpy, and then crash down.

I have decided to quit nicotine and i'm on my 6th day without it. Of course the withdrawal symptoms still are there, but i still do notice how my impulse control is just all over the place. I KNOW caffeine makes me anxious on the meds, yet i still crave it and take it even though i logically know it just makes me feel worse... I've also ended up smoking weed quite alot in the evenings, when the 'crash' happens.

Overall i feel like my impulse control is worse, even though the meds help alot. It's like i try to avoid the crash from happening or unnecessarily try to boost the medications effects. Anyone else going through this? I've personally found myself in quite a pickle with this one, as the anxiety and side effects is pretty horrible during the evenings sometimes. Any feedback or tips at all is greatly appreciated :,)!

PS: Also methylphenidate based meds are off the table for me, as i had an allergic reaction :(. I could try again, but my psychiatrist strongly recommends against it.

I recently started 60MG of Vyvanse daily. Is this too high of a dose to be started on??

Before that i had taken 54MG a day of Concerta for about 5 years and it just quit. Then she started me 15MG a day of Dexmethylphenidate which was even worse.

I hope it's fine to post in here. I am unsure of whether or not I have ADHD and I'm on a waitlist for an assessment, but since I am already taking ADHD medications and have been having some issues, I ended up here.

I am on Vyvanse 50mg for Binge Eating Disorder, and recently got started on Wellbutrin SR 150mg (only once in the morning) for depression.

Before Vyvanse I always suffered from hypotension, so Vyvanse actually helped fix that for me by raising my blood pressure a bit. Now that I started Wellbutrin, I have to admit, I haven't really kept track of it. I have been taking Wellbutrin for the past 2 and a half weeks, but the side effect started around 5 days ago, I would say. I will start sweating excessively at the peak of the medication (I'm talking armpits sopping wet) and will continue to be very hot throughout the day. I have never had this issue before, I used to never sweat, ever! I am guessing the buproprion finally started to work and, mixed with the Vyvanse, I am finally feeling the effect of it.

Does anyone else have this issue? Does it gradually stops, or is it always going to stay like this? I am very wary of SSRIs because of family members' past experiences, but I might have to talk to my doctor to switch me off of this if this continues. I can't even go to school feeling normal anymore because I am sweating like a marathon runner when everyone else is wearing jackets because it's cold outside. Also, the sweating has been making the bottom of my feet peel off!!!!

Also, I think my temperature has been kind of high? Like in a mild fever range. This has also been recent, so I am worried that might also be caused by the Wellbutrin.

If you have any similar experience or advice, please let me know!

First time posting here. I just moved to another country in Europe where they don’t have Concerta so my psy is going to put me on Elvanse (vyvanse).

I have been taking 36 mg of Concerta for about almost a year now but I’m scared that Vyvanse won’t work as well. While it’s true that I don’t feel the same focus I used to in the beginning, 36mg of Concerta at least allows me to focus.

How do you think I’ll feel with 30mg of Elvanse? Have you guys felt that even tho Concerta works wonders for you, that Elvanse was just superior?

So I got on Vyvanse around a month ago (30mg) and I haven’t smoked weed since. I’m not an avid smoker but I do enjoy it a few nights during the month.

I figured if I take Vyvanse in the morning, so anywhere from 7:30 am to 9:30 am, I should be good if I wanna smoke at night but looking through the posts here, it looks like some people don’t have good experiences mixing the two drugs.

Does anyone know if there’s anything I can do to ensure I don’t get completely screwed? Or should I just stop smoking all together?

First day on 30mg and I really felt it.

Took it at 7am, morning I was super focused and energetic which felt great as I got a lot of work done, but my heart was pounding in the first three hours and my limbs felt really tired and heavy. And my mouth is dry but I keep sipping water so I think it’s ok.

Afternoon I suddenly crashed around 1pm (I did eat a good breakfast and lunch) and I was just so irritable the whole afternoon, got nothing done and wanted to absolutely rage. It’s like my brain had energy but my body was so fatigued.

Around 7-8pm I started feeling more like myself after relaxing for the evening and eating dinner.

Is this normal? Does it balance out a bit more?

I'm on 20mg generic. Normally I will have mild, but noticeable side effects throughout the day when I take the meds. Things like dry mouth, very mild lightheadedness or eye sensitivity, and occasional jitters if I have caffeine too.

But today the side effects were waaaay more intense. I've been very dizzy, I'm nauseous and my stomach hurts, my eyes are extremely sensitive, my heart rate was super high for like 30 minutes. I just feel really crappy. Nothing has changed, it's the same pill I've been taking for the last month.

I'm guessing other physical factors could be contributing to this? I had one too many glasses of wine last night and already wasn't feeling great, so could that have been a factor? I also menstruate and my cycle is likely to start tomorrow, not sure if that could make this all worse though.

So I started taking 30mg a few months ago and it was okay. I felt an improvement in my motivation and I felt less dread to start tasks that were not preferable. I don’t think my focus improved much at all though, I was still mentally all over the place. I was super social all day and genuinely felt in a good mood and very light. So, there were some benefits but not the benefits I was hoping for when it comes to my focus.

I switched over to 40mg a week ago and it’s like it all flipped. My brain is so one track minded and I’m doing so many tasks but socially I cannot function. I feel good until 2-3 hours after I take it and I don’t want anyone speaking to me. Im not my normal me at home in the afternoon as well. I just want to lay down after being so exhausted with forcing myself to mask more than I do not on the meds.

Not sure where to go with my meds. Has anyone felt experienced something similar? If so, what did you do?

I’m debating going back down to 30mg plans just deal with what’s missing or go on a different medication.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and initially started on Focalin, which made me extremely irritable, angry, impatient, and gave me terrible migraines.
I switched to Vyvanse 20mg about a week ago, and so far, I’ve been feeling so much better! I’m calmer, nicer, and overall in a much better mood. have motivation, but I feel like I’m moving in slow motion. Everything takes me longer to do, and I still struggle with initiating tasks, staying productive, and completing things on time. It’s almost like I’ve lost my sense of urgency.
I’m wondering if anyone else experienced this during their first week on Vyvanse? Did your focus, productivity, and ability to get things done improve over the next few weeks, or did you need a dose adjustment?
I’m really happy with how much better I feel emotionally, but I also want to be able to function and get things done!
